We immediately felt welcome and at home in Ma vie la. Our host made sure of it :) The room was spacious and had an amazing view and private terras. Dinner in the guesthouse restaurant was outstanding. Our host helped us organise acitvities on the island. Thank you Veronique for a wonderful experience. We will be back!

The room has no sound proofing so if sensitive to noise you can hear everything, animals scuttling around, birds, bats and other guests.

It is a rustic space and has an outdoor seating area which was nice to relax in at night.

The landlady of the villa was exceptionally rude. We encountered a problem with the payment on the last day. She insisted on paying by cash although via booking messaging we have agreed in advance to pay by credit card. The staff confirmed it. However, she blamed everybody (the secretary, the staff) instead of just saying sorry for the misunderstanding. Late at night we had to go 10km by taxi to the ATM to withdraw the money… a big disappointment, maximum of inflexibility (we offered to make a bank transfer-she said no). Terrible! I have never met such an arrogant and stubborn landlady!!! Bring cash even though you agree on the payment by card.

The location is really exceptional, at the foot of le Morne mountain. The beach is not far with a breath-taking view to the mountain. The restaurant in the villa is very cosy. A special thanks goes to the chef Ash. He really cares for the customers, the meals are delicious!

the location isn't great if you don't have a car (it's a 5 min drive to the beach, but a 25 min walk if you can't find a taxi). the facilities are a bit ran down. my shower was not great (very little pressure, and you have to regulate the temperature straight from the water pipe). the restaurant is open and closed randomly.

the apartment was clean, I really enjoyed the outdoor space with comfortable couches and a really nice view. the kitchen appliances work well. the staff are super helpful and very kind

The room was quite small and it was very noisy at night.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool and breakfast area are beautiful and offer ocean views. The location is convenient if you want to explore Mahebourg but less for going to the beach.

- rules are quite ridiculous: for the price paid you do not expect to read rules like: you get 2 toilet rolls per stay or 2 mosquito coils per stay - no toiletries (shampoo and shower gel) - you need a car/scooter - hoards of mosquitoes and other crawling animals

- Huge terrace (apartment no.2) - fridge on the terrace - interesting bathroom - view of mountain - very nice staff

Despite the fact that the photos that appeared in the application did not correspond to those of the room that they gave me and that there was no air conditioning as mentioned, they corrected the problem quickly in booking. The fridge is outside the room, which makes it a bit awkward to reach. Similarly, the bathroom, although it is for exclusive use, is also outside the room. I would have liked a somewhat more hospitable and proactive attitude on the part of the owner who limited herself to attending to my demands, instead of anticipating my needs. I had to ask twice for toilet paper and she took his time to answer my messages before my arrival. For those of you who do not have a car, the site lacks supermarkets to stock up on food, it is advisable to buy before arriving at the place.

The hotel is very charming and has beautiful views of the mountain of Le Morne. The pool is very nice and big although it lacks shaded areas. The room has all the necessary details to make it comfortable, the kitchen is very complete. Le morne beach accessible half an hour walk.

manager tried to charge us 5 x the agreed price for baby cots. also just before we arrived they said they couldn’t provide the 2 baby cots we needed even tho we had booked them in Feb for a November stay. they do not provide washing up service free of charge. apartment not child friendly. nowhere to store clothes / suitcases during stay (no wardrobes or drawers bizarrely).

restaurant manager and staff are lovely and food was great. room service at dinner for no additional charge.

I had an interesting experience receiving the famous room number 8, for 5 nights. For me as a solo female traveler the dimension of the room was OK but I guess that for a massive person could be a little to small. If you are a solo traveler and have high expectation for comfort it's better to chose a different location.

The outdoor shower with La Morne view worth all the paid money.

Too much mosquitoes and bees, but it’s everywhere in the island.

Good price! Parking area, pool, kitchen, cleaning - all you need for comfort! And unbelievable view - ocean, mountains, many green trees. There was a mango tree close to my apartment;) Highly recommended!

ash in the restaurant was sometimes not there either for breakfast or dinner but would not be updated about when in or off ! but on other side he always made extra effort to keep his customers happy and really looked after them! ! so thank you
