We really loved our stay at Shanti Ghar, everyone was so nice and friendly, always trying to help and asking about our day. We also really loved all of the pets, they’re so sweet and made it a bit easier to be away from our own pets at home. We had an amazing time!

Not a problem with Shanti Ghar but you will need a car to make the most of the visit.

We stayed 3 nights at Shanti Ghar. We felt at home from the moment we were greeted at the gate by Zak. Comfortable, friendly and lots of tips from Zak and Tom that made us feel like locals. The honesty system for the bar a great idea. The continental breakfast was all you needed to get going. They offer dinner a couple of nights a week, home cooked and delicious. There’s a supermarket down the road which is handy. An ideal home base to explore the SW of beautiful Mauritius.

Amazing place, from room to the garden and common area, this was 100% my type of accommodation for vacation. Very chilled vibe, all guys who are working there are simply amazing and always smiling :) extra comfy bed. Ask for the room with a swing 😎

We expected more tropical fruit for breakfast

The hosts have been generous with advice and experience support, while also kind and active involved in making us comfortable at all times. They proactively provided catering for our nutritional requirements and we really appreciated the dinner together with a lively community experience, very tasty and inclusive. In general the guesthouse offered a good welcoming environment, the rooms especially were spotless clean. We loved all the pets! All the cats and dogs are super well behaved and quiet and we enjoyed their cuddles.

Some details could be better

Wonderful guest house, so relaxing and hospitable. We spent a great time there. Zac and Tom, that manage the house, are 2 kind and smart guys, you can ask them for suggestions about what to do or help to book any activity you want. 3 days per week they organize a dinner with all the guests. It's a very cool situation where you can speak and interacts with people from other countries about your experience in Mauritius. A lovely place with lovely people.

The only thing was that we could not find a towel rail in bathroom, but the accommodation makes up for far more than that as everything else is just so well thought of from the room to the garden and everything you would require

we had difficulty finding the correct address at night. the address info did not match with the street location. A map of the locality with Shanti Ghar marked clearly would be a great help.

Just fantastic. What a great discovery. We will definitely go back, hopefully many times. The beautiful home with its deep verandah, many shaded corners, warm and fun hosts, the loving dogs and cats, the views, the pool... This is tropical living at its best. Thank you dear Zack and family.

Everything was great. Garden lush and beautifully kept. The staff super friendly and extremely helpful -even offered to drive us to the shopping centre. The dinner on Thursday evening was delicious and it was a good opportunity to meet the other guests.

Zack and Tom take very good care of their guests. They are always approachable, give tips, help with organizational questions - and that in a very natural way and without being pushy. The rooms are spacious, clean and the beds comfortable. The pool invites you to relax. A car is recommended because the accommodation is located in a residential area and it takes a while to the beach or the nearest restaurants. We felt very comfortable and would definitely recommend Shanti Ghar for everyone who is looking for a relaxed and familiy run accomodation. Thank you very much for the great start into our holiday!

We had an amazing stay at the Guest House. Zack, his father and Tom were incredible hosts. They provided us a lot of local insights (e.g. lonely beaches, special hikes, restaurants). The dogs and cats are very respectful to the guest and do not disturb them. We also loved the shared fridge where you can take all kind of beverages for a fair price. However, we recommend to rent a scooter or a car for this location as it’s not directly at the beach.

We had a wonderful time at Shanti Ghar. The hosts are wonderful and you immediately feel very comfortable. We really loved everything (the animals, the garden, the guest house, the delicious food) and will definitely come again. We really liked the area around Tamarin. With a rental car you can reach many beautiful places quickly and easily. You quickly get used to the left-hand traffic. Thank you for the great tips and the recommendation to surf. We had so much fun surfing with Hugo. Thank you for the fantastic time we will remember forever!

The room is spacious, but the soroundings are just a joy. Green, lush garden with access to the pool. It’s not hard to find, there is also parking behind the gates. The staff, Zach and his family are very welcoming and kind. just a great place to relax on your holiday.
