A 5-star accommodation on an island of locals. The interior design of the rooms is very modern with new furniture and clean new bedding. Everywhere is clean, in the rooms, at the place where we eat, in the courtyard of the accommodation and even in front of the accommodation. To move around the island, the accommodation staff provide you with bicycles that are free, what I liked most about this was that they provided a few bicycles that had a special support for children, for us it was a dream because we have a 4 year old boy. Those who take care of this accommodation are wonderful people who help you with everything you need. In addition to this wonderful accommodation, Thoddoo island is a dream, the beaches are like on a resort islands plus it is well equipped in terms of restaurants and shops for an island of locals. By the way, on this island it is possible to pay by card. Like things that I didn't like but not related to accommodation is that there is a lot of construction, the good part on this island is that they build inside the island and in this way they don't destroy vegetation from the outside of the island. It would be unpleasant to go to the beach and instead of palm trees and lush vegetation see concrete mixers and construction equipment or concrete buildings. Unfortunately, this happens on other islands of locals. We will definitely return to this wonderful island because of this wow accommodation and the beauty of the island

From the moment you step into Fairytale Inn you are transported to a peace of heaven. It is really a nice, calm and peaceful place with the most kindful stuff. Breakfast was amazing. A lot of fresh fruit, homemade juice, eggs, pancakes, toasts... Everyday was something different. We have booked dinner for 3 times and it was really delicious to. Great experience!

Not related to the property but the island is very dirty! So sad to witness such disrespect for the nature, seems like local people don’t care much about it as there is trash everywhere.

The guest house is super cute and very clean!! Might seem basic but it has all the comfort you might need: tv, ac works perfectly, mini fridge, little patio with chairs . The bathroom is spacious. There are complimentary bikes that guests can use to move around the island. Silvya is very kind and the staff in general too. Fairytale inn is in a strategic location to reach the beach and few nice restaurants around, all within 5/10 minutes biking. I had an early check out and they provided me with a take away breakfast which I really appreciated.

Nothing in life is ultimately perfect, but it did take some time to find what could be wrong in our fairytale here. Well, surprisingly, nobody (not this property nor any other) has informed us that it was a must to submit a Traveller Declaration form prior to arrival to Maldives so we had some (totally unnecessary) stress and waste of time at the arrival at the airport. In my opinion this important info must be shared with all guests during the first communication. Other than that, the whole stay at Fairytale Inn was a total fairytale.

While planning our Maldives vacation, we have done an extensive research on islands around Male city and their properties and perceived Fairytale Inn to be the most promising. Our efforts in reality were rewarded with such great gifts like beauty, style, tranquility, character and joy. The owner has a blend of very professional and nice ethics while her assistant Nani is the gem of our experience with smile, care, cooking, availability and support. The room has such positive vibe while the terrace is providing a true jungle stay experience. Without any creatures though. Breakfast was amazing, and dinner the best on Thoddoo. Cute beach is about 4min walk, while the big paradise beach can be reached in 3 ways, 15min walk, 5min bicycle ride or via a 3$ transport. Free filtered water included, as well as toilet amenities, snorkeling equipment and free bicycles. Transport to and from the ferry port complimentary. One of the top 3 accommodation experiences of my life (and I travelled a lot). Already planning to stay there again next year. The stuff has totally spoiled us.

Nothing to do with Fairytale, but fair warning: you can't eat whenever you want in restaurants, you need to reserve and pre-order things. The opening hours of stores are also all over the place.

The staff, the guesthouse, and the beaches were amazing, it's a perfect affordable option for anyone visiting Thoddoo. We loved our stay here and made lots of fond memories. Definitely check out Priani on the island if you want to have amazing Italian food! Also Astro Dive Club for amazing excursions around the island!

Everything about Fairytale Inn exceeded my expectations! The location is perfect, the rooms are beautiful with very comfortable beds, the food is great (breakfast and dinner) and the property manager Dilyana was very welcoming and helpful throughout my entire stay. Didn't really like the breakfast. They liked the smell on the hotel grounds and did not like the location. There was construction going on all around and it was a very long walk to the beach.

We had a great time! The staff was really friendly, and one guy even returned our bike when we showed him where we left it. Our room was cozy, with a cool oasis vibe surrounded by palm trees. We absolutely loved the awesome decorations in our room, especially the special touches for our honeymoon! We highly recommend it!

It would be great to have some shampoo and body wash in the bathrooms. Either way, when I asked for it, the host offered me some, so problem solved.

Best hotel we stayed at in the Maldives! The hosts were super attentive, breakfast was great: every day something different and very well thought! The room was very spacious and comfortable, with a great space inside and outside with the garden view to wait for the rain to stop. We will come back again!

Everything was delightful from the very beginning - at the entrance, we were warmly welcomed by the owner of this establishment. Upon entering, we felt like in a green jungle, a beautifully decorated facility with a boho style. A beautiful restaurant-dining area where you'll enjoy breakfast and other meals. The staff was very helpful, and we extend our warm greetings and gratitude to them for enhancing our stay. The owner is highly committed to the operation of the facility and helpful in every matter. The day after our arrival, an evening with traditional music and dances from the Maldives was organized. Our flight was rescheduled by a day, and the owner took care of everything with the booking. Upon arrival, there was a minor issue with the door lock, promptly resolved by specialists. Incredible attention to detail - the facility is filled with calm, relaxing music, lovely lighting, and stepping onto the terrace felt like entering the jungle. If you want to visit Thoddoo Island you have to go to the Fairytale Inn.

I really liked the owner, location, ambient (garden), dinners - especially vegetable soups and rice with vegetables. Nice fresh juices also. The breakfast was average but ok. Not related to the accommodation: On the beach there are too few sunbeds, many of them are broken. We heard rumors that they are going to asphalt the road, which in my opinion is not the best solution. We really like it the way it is now. There is a lot of trash on the island, something could be done to solve that problem.

The reason we shortened our stay was because Thoddoo is not the Maldives you see online. This was our first time in the Maldives and we had decided to do a local island so we can do excursions at a reasonable price. We knew that a local island would not be like a resort, but we did not expect it to be as undeveloped as it was. There were unpaved roads and there was trash everywhere! We saw Rasdhoo from the outside when we went on the excursion with Relax Trips and it looked a bit more developed so perhaps its just Thoddoo since its a bit of a bigger island. For the other two nights we canceled with Sylvia we booked a resort and it was the perfect blend of seeing Maldivian local culture and also experiencing a little luxury! *I loved everything about Fairytale Inn, so this is more of what I didn't like about Thoddoo!

Sylvia, the host, is so sweet! There is one beach very close to Fairytale Inn and she had told us of another one that is beautiful, but a bit farther. Our family had tried looking for it and got lost and when we told her this, she biked with us to show us the way there! The beach next to Fairytale Inn is absolutely gorgeous and I actually liked it better than the one farther. Breakfast was so delicious and filling! There were also excursions done by Relax Trips that she has told us about. Our family did a half day excursion which included a trip to the sandbank and snorkeling there, shark feeding and fish feeding for $270 ($60 a person for 4 ppl, one child so that was $30.) Manta snorkel is supposed to be included but they said it's not the season for it. Was a little bummed that we were paying the same price as someone else who comes during manta season and is able to swim with them. We also shortened our stay from 4 nights to 2 nights and Sylvia was so understanding and helped us do that. The backyard almost looks like a jungle and feels so serene.
