The resort was Paradise .. absolutely stunning..we had a great Beach Appartement with a lovely beach and awesome view. Everything you need for a dream holiday with nice restaurants, service and of course the beautiful island.. The staff was also great .. special thanks to Remon, Aaron, Mini and the beautiful nice girls in the a la carte restaurant.. . Royal island is perfect for a Maldives holidays ..

The bedrooms could do a remodel as they look a bit old and dark inside. Also, the rules were a bit strict when it came to bringing food outside of the buffet area, no included tea or coffee outside of the bedroom for “full board” option…

Amazing location, exclusive, peaceful. The beach at your door and so much marine wildlife just right there. The food was great and very diverse for a buffet. And the staff were just the sweetest!

I don't know what could have been better. It got very hot, but not the fault of the hotel, of course.

Wow! What a lovely couple days we spent at Royal Island. We had the 2 bedroom beach villa which was actually connecting rooms. Very convenient for us. The rooms are so well appointed and the beds are comfortable. We had the all-inclusive so everything in the minibar was included - just to help ourselves. Breakfast and the Buffet dinner was good. We actually ate more in the bar and at the Ala Carte restaurant which was superb. Lots of trees and garden around the island, beautiful. Transfer to and from the island was seamless. They guided and helped us the whole way. Fantastic.

We liked everything at Royal Island. First of all, we liked the preserved natural forest which is a very rare thing recently. There are very old, big trees and lots of flowers, small animals and birds on the island. The beach is beautiful and there are some lively old and baby corals, so you can do some nice snorkeling at the home reef. There are a lot of colorful fish to see. Also, we were lucky to see "The sparkling waters of the Maldives" - a natural phenomenon of bioluminescence. Secondly, the bungalows are very comfortable, right on the beach with everything you need to enjoy your side of the island. The pool is clean and spacious. There is a big variety of delicious food and drinks at the restaurant. People from the staff at the resort are very helpful and do everything you need to make your holiday unforgettable. We enjoyed entertainment every evening with local musicians and dancers.

This was a most memorable holiday, simply everything was perfect and beyond our expectations. The island is magical, the right size to walk round it, with immaculate beaches all round and a beautiful jungle where excellent huts are discretely set as accommodations. Snorkelling is majestic just at your door step. There’s an excellent water sport team. Hassan Fareed, in particular, was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide on all the excursions we did. The food was most delicious. All staff were extremely friendly and our host Mini made our stay most comfortable.

For a five star hotel I would expect to be able to get decent coffee. All we were offered was Nescafé.

The location is wonderful, the hotel is comfortable with spacious and luxurious rooms that sit on the beach but protected from the open sea by the reef. Plenty of sea life with sharks and turtles.

The best in this resort are the people. Fantastic service and kindest staff you can imagine. Special thanks to Abdula from the buffet! The island is large and you can walk quite well. Food is really great! Huge choice of fish, meat, veggies for every taste. The beach is nice. You need to be patient for the travel to the island as need to wait for domestic flight. It was worth it. The only issue was the room we were given in the beginning which we could luckily change, otherwise our holidays would be completely spoiled. We got room which was not a separate bungalow but had the same wall to the neighbor. You could hear every single noise. It’s ridiculous, those rooms should only be given to families!! The other thing is loud music until 00:00 every second night. Luckily the room we changed to was located further so didn’t hear anything. Otherwise we couldn’t sleep ( previous room was next to reception). In a nutshell, yes I would return but only if the room is the same we got changed to. Then it’s a dream place. Otherwise, it would be a completely different experience.

The staff at the buffest restaurant were nice but was really weird, they tried to kick us out of the table a few times saying that they want it for another family who sat there for 5 days, there wasnt any reserved sign post on the table, and it happened 3 times. I did not simply understand the politics behind it, because we went there as family of 3 ,nobody gave us a designated seating. I got put off by their behaviour so I skipped 3 meals. I would have rated the resort as 10 but just because of this behaviour I wont, no 5 star hotel would treat guests like that. they did say sorry in the end. also, house keeping were very clumsy, they forgot to replace towels a few times, didnt replace water bottles which are just basic.

stunning bungalows, right on the foot of stunning beach. top quality food at the buffet restaurant, amazing variety. the ala carte restaurant was a bit tedious. only enjoyed one dish there out of 4 meals. lovely cocktails in the bar, stunning pier and house reef where you can snorkel all day. had the most amazing 7 nights.

The sea sport center, very rude guy and not in line with the hotel standard. And of course the end of the holidays, it's taught to leave the hotel.

Amazing Experience. The villas are great, the beach in front of the villa wonderful, shallow water very safe for kids. They came with sparkling wine and cake for birthday, cleaning every day perfectly and flexible also with the food in the fridge. The place is a dream, snorkeling around the resort is almost better than diving. Diving centre is good and well managed. The main restaurant worth a mention as the variety is great and the change daily so you can be able to find a lot of options. Service in the restaurant is also very good. The main swimming Pool is fine but we just use to go for a drink at sunset, activities in the evening are ok. A mention to Mark Anthony as he was always supporting and helping during the stay.

Maybe they could renovate bathrooms and put tiles or concrete that wont slip when wet.

It was amazing, beautiful island, very good service, clean. Premium AL included even a massage and some excursions. Our waiter Nirmal was lovely, attentive and made the service feel personal. Our housekeeper Jeyan was respectful and made sure we have all that we need and more. Beautiful memories were made with our 1.5 year old. I wish to return one day. We visited posh Hilton after this and preferred it here, it had character and the nature that posh one didnt have
