The beds were uncomfortable. The air con smelt like cabbage. We had a issue with airport transport - I would strongly recommend NOT using the on-site travel agents as they are more concerned about money than customer well- being!

Lots of food options, two pools are great, some great staff, interesting wild life. Nice relaxed vibe. Central for great tours.

We booked three rooms. In all three rooms AC didn't work, they said that they are fixing it, but nothing changed in two weeks. In one room the shower was flooding. In one room the refrigerator was leaking. But the worst of all things are front desk personal. They are totaly useless! Our three rooms check-in took more then an hour, we were tired after long flight, but they didn't try to make it faster. They didn't help with our AC, we told about it lots of times. They didn't help us with water, we didn't get it enough, so we had to buy it in the store and they call this hotel all-inclusive. They didn't stop smokers, they smoked in their balcony, but front dest didn't care about it, it is illegal in this hotel, because the roof can fire up easily. You can live with all minuses, but front desk is totaly useless!!!

The hotel has big teritory, very clean beach, two big swimming pools, hamocks in every balcony, lots of friendly animals, some of personal (Arnold and Antonio - waiters, Alfredo - dinning boss, Enrique - bartender) were very friendly and professional. Normal hotel for a good price in this region.

Bed could be more comfortable. Rooms are not soundproof. Only 1 buffet and not many restaurants. A sushi restaurant would be nice to have at this resort.

The rooms definitely need to be renovated. Sound insulation is very bad, all rooms hear each other. Also there is a smell of dampness in the rooms. Finally, most of the employees do not speak English. This sometimes caused difficulty in communicating.

This year I could only complain about one rainy day - nothing else.

What I like most is the rather simple but delicious buffet every day. If offers basic Mexican stuff, but the taste is much better than any other buffet options I know. The pool area is relaxing and offers some, but neither too much nor too intrusive entertainment. Daily shows at evenings are nice as well. Not world class, but good enough to have some fun at evenings. Rooms are larger that at other hotels in this category and well equipped. None of the aspects are the greatest ever, but in total this was my third stay in Allegro Playacar and I guess I'll come back.

How thin the walls were, you could hear everything, people’s conversations in the room next to you and the loud music going to midnight every night. Even when we did attend the show, the speakers are way too loud and deafening

The activities were fun such as bingo, the circus show and water aerobics. The food can be good at times and I liked the pool position in front of the beach.

Staff attitude was great, went above and beyond to make our stay special. Especially Izabella and Marvin on reception. Beach was fab, food was great even in the buffet on the beach and main building. Entertainment was good. Rooms were cute with a hammock. Since the roof is kinda porous, the air conditioning wasn’t optimum. The room was cool, but I never felt too cold and needed a thick blanket.

- Strict policy of water for an all inclusive hotel. You can't get water at the reception and must wait until the next room cleaning. So let's say if you've used 2 bottles during the day (for this climate it's quite possible), you will be without any water in a room at night and must go a long distance to get a glass of water from a bar (if opened). Totally inconvenient. - The room wasn't really cleaned as expected for a 4-star hotel, even tips weren't helpful. - The room itself was like in a 3-star hotel, I expected a little bit better. - The roof wasn't concrete so we could listen everything that was happening outside, including disco and noisy guests. - This hotel is really focused on Mexicans. So if you don't speak Spanish, you will have difficulties in communication and feel like a white crow, especially at events.

- The staff was mostly friendly. When you give them even small tips - you get extra service and care. - The beach and location are wonderful, 20 minutes walk from wild beaches. Currency exchange and 7-eleven were nearby. - Food was great, I had plenty of choices even as a vegetarian. The Italian restaurant was particularly good, but be prepared for small portions. (order more!) - Servers were really friendly. - Drinks were more or less good, depends on bartender and their mood.

Room had a leak, housekeeping did not clean the room as requested, information in the brochure was inaccurate, telephone did not work nor was repaired when reported, reservations for specialty dinning was not available via phone or reception, only one hour per day is not acceptable, bar ran out of glasses various times so the food during peak hours, some staff was not friendly

Tap water very dirty, oftentimes sand coming out. AC working sporadically. On day two the ceiling started dripping, stopped a few days after reporting it at the reception. Door lock had a malfunction but was quickly repaired. Booking tours with the hotel would've been significantly more expensive than booking externally.

Waiters and bar tenders as well as entertainers were very motivated and friendly. Buffet was varied and tasty! Beds comfortable and big. Beach directly at the hotel. There is an activities program with lots of fun stuff. All in all very clean apart from tap water.

POOLS were literally filfy most of the time. greenish water, stuff floating on the surface and little pieces in the water… for the psychological reasons I stopped wearing swimglasses… what the eyes dont see, the heart doesnt hurt… we gave the feedback to the staff and it seemed they tried to make some improvements…there might have been an issue with the pool filtration. BEACH - a lot of sea weed… they tried to clean itbut the truck was not pick up the weed but mulching it together with the sand… oh well , good way to destroy your best asset you have … the beach AIRCONDITIONING - i guess you needed a special degree in operating . it worked but never reality matched the display… once hot, then cold

I wish our bracelets were more like a watch style, because they often fell off which made me nervous about the $100 fine. I thought the process for requesting dinner reservations was overly cumbersome. It was annoying to have to wait in line during the middle of the day. We were also told multiple times that they wouldn't be able to accommodate us at certain times, especially with a larger group (8) but then the restaurant would never be more than half full. It would have been easier just to come at opening and be told what your wait would be, or potentially request through an app. The food at the Asian restaurant was my least favorite of the trip, especially the sushi. There is a lot of room for improvement there.

I loved the size of the resort and my room's proximity to the beach. The resort was easily walkable and the grounds were green and lush. The beach front, sand, and palm trees for shade were all perfect. We never had to work that hard for chairs, even with a large group. The beach was kept clean and organized by the staff. The staff was wonderful. Kind, friendly and attentive. Bartenders and drinks were great, food either met or exceeded expectations almost all the time. We went out dancing three nights at the club and had a great time. I like that the DJ quickly accommodated requests. During breakfast I loved the chilaquiles, omelets and juice. During lunch my favorites were usually the more Mexican foods, including fish and other meats in delicious sauces. We got wonderful massages at the spa and went parasailing, which was amazing.

The signup for dinner could be more efficient. Waiting in line daily when you could be at the beach wasn’t fun. There were some small improvement that could be made to make the rooms more functional including shower heads that stayed in place and replacement of lights.

Great smaller resort with beautiful beach. The staff was great. Just some of the wonderful staff we connected with were Abel, Israel, Bernardo, Fausto. We enjoyed the beach, pool, night club & evening entertainment.

It's an older resort so some of the rooms have some issues. Our room flooded when we took a shower. We heard other rooms had broken TVs or refrigerators. But you have to consider what's important to you. We looooved the bungalow vibe and lots of green space with native wildlife. So for us a run down room doesn't outweigh the loveliness of the place. But for others it would. I was annoyed that the kids club said it was open every day, but it wasn't. They would just put up a sign saying "We're at the beach" but me and the kids searched the beach high and low and they were not there! We were there during non peak season, so the kids club was open on the weekend, but then had a permanent "we're at the beach" sign on the week days. Maybe they run it more regularly during school holidays.

We loved the bungalow style rooms. Each room is in a 2 storey bungalow with 8 units, so it has a quaint vibe. There is lots of green space and gardens all around with wildlife! Spiny tailed iguanas, agoutis, and ring tailed coaties! It was just lovely! The pool right by the ocean is great! This section of beach is one of the best along the whole beach with lots of sand and beautiful palm trees. We thought the food was great and there were always options for our picky 3 year old. Overall our family loved it!

Was a struggle to get things fixed: electronic door lock, balcony lights, warm water - no Essen water every second day. I went about 10 times to the reception for all of these pains.
