It was very hot when I visited and the fan in my room was just barely sufficient. No AC, so take that into consideration when you go.

Nice place, fairly close to the main square (about 10 mins easy walk). Very clean and well taken care of. Breakfast options were good (free coffee, tea, toast or upgrade to a full meal for 70 pesos).

Excellent hospitality. I felt like a home. The rooms and the entire hotel are so clean. All the staff there are always pleasant to deal with. It was great to relax in the evening breeze on the rooftop after a shower. I really love it. There is also a Mercado on the way to the center of Centro, which is about a 5 minute walk. I became a big fan of the shrimp cocktail from the vendor near the entrance. The bus stop to Santuario de Atotnilco, where has UNESCO World Heritage church, is just around the corner. Anyway, it is conveniently located and very safe at night. The iced coffee made by the owner Carolina at the adjacent cafe is cheap but tastes better than anywhere else, so give it a try! I really recommend this hotel. I definitely come back there!

It was a bit chilly at night and we found that the blanket and coverlet was thin. We took the blanket and coverlet from the other bed to give us more warmth.

Breakfast was basic, but nice. It was fresh cut fruit and toast with tea or coffee and there was other breakfast options available for a cost.

Santuario is by far the best hotel/hostal in San Miguel de Allende! The Manager, Carolina, and staff, are most welcoming, providing their guests an oasis and a comfortable environment. The accommodations are always immaculate with excellent linens. A great location, just a short walk to the center of town. Also, enjoy their adjoining cafe and meet new friends! What a gem of a place to stay! It was just perfect for me as they spoke some English and helped me with my poor Spanish. The whole staff was welcoming and wonderful and provided a nice light breakfast each morning and kept the hotel/hostel very clean and mopped. I loved sitting out on the rooftop terrace in the afternoon.

The shower was unreliable - any time anyone else used hot water the water would just stop. I gave up on it the second day. It's pretty cold at night but there are extra blankets. It's also cold in the courtyard so be sure to grab an extra layer for eating your breakfast in the morning!
