Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainAna's place is ideally located outside of the hustle and bustle of the island, in a quiet neighbourhood near the beach. We were only 10 minutes away from the centre by bicycle and could enjoy relaxing time at Anicca Aldea, by the pool. We loved the shared outdoors kitchen and terrace by the pool

AustriaEverything was Great. I would book it again.
We felt very comfortable and at home there. Youre a bit from the City Centre, but still close enough from everything. The pool was cool & good to chill at. The room was beautiful & clean. The hosts very nice! Also there is a kitchen with a coffee machine - big plus:)

CanadaIts hard to judge how it would be on a regular stay as we were there during a very bad storm that flooded the entire island and we had no power for 2 days. But from what we experienced I think it would be amazing on a regular hot and sunny holiday!
We loved the private rooms that were separate from the others. Its a beautiful oasis of trees and flowers once you open the gate and enter the grounds! The owners are very good about giving you privacy while also being friendly and helpful if you need anything

FinlandThere was no soundproofing in the room and you could hear the neighbor's every whisper.
Anicca Aldea was really cozy and homely. The atmosphere was warm and you could pet lovely dogs at the pool.

United StatesIt might be considered to be a little far from the town center and most shops/restaurants, but the host facilitated the rental of bikes to be able to move faster.
very cozy and comfortable. The room was clean and the AC worked perfectly.

NetherlandsAs the location is a bit further away from restaurants etc. It would be great to just include bikes in the price of the stay so you can get around easier. Not a problem for us but maybe something we are used to from earlier travels in Asia.
Had an amazing stay at Annica, very comfortable, nice pool and room. Close to punta Coco and away from the noise of the town. Exactly what we wanted.

we loved our stay a lot. the house is very well taken care of and the pool was very clean as well. there was also water for us to drink and refill and coffee in the mornings. staff was so nice as well. I had a terrible migraine attack on our arrival day and needed food to go with my meds. The woman there prepared a bowl of yoghurt for me which made me feel way better. we were very happy here

Anicca is a Holbox’s gem! Ana is an extraordinaire host: her knowledge of the island, property and guest’s care, wisdom and levity invited me to such an exquisite and delightful two weeks of joy, adventures, gastronomy, healing and sisterhood!

CanadaWe stayed here after a couple of nights in the town centre of Holbox for a more relaxed send half to our vacation and it did not disappoint. Just far enough way from the hustle and bustle so that you feel like you have a private oasis but also close enough to walk or bike everywhere you need to go. The beach is a 2 min walk and is a beautiful beach (Punta Coco). The host, Ana, stays on the property and is very responsive, helpful and friendly. It is clear she puts a lot of her heart and soul into the property. There are some ‘rules’ such as no drinking at the pool, quiet time at 11pm, etc. so definitely not the place for you if you’re looking to party. Super family friendly.

FranceThis hotel should not be available on Booking. We had to leave the hotel after a day and book another one, which cost us over 1000$. - The hotel is located in an area made inaccessible by seawater seeping onto the roads, making them totally impassable, whether on foot, by bicycle or with a hire car. - We hired bikes on the first day, as the routes were made very dangerous by the flooded areas we had to cross. On our first day, we found it completely impossible to get back to the hotel by bike and had to hire a taxi and put the bikes in the boot. - The bicycles are not self-service, and it is impossible and dangerous to get around on foot. - The only restaurants and mini-markets on the island were located far from the hotel, making it impossible for us to eat or shop, despite the fact that there was no breakfast available at the hotel. - The establishment is located in an area where the roads are not lit, which makes any journey at night (i.e. from 6.45pm) extremely dangerous due to the flooding and the presence of debris. - The Punta Coco beach close to the hotel was strictly inaccessible. We would also like to point out that the description of the hotel on the Booking.com website contains misleading information which led us to book it: - The standard of the hotel (remote location, no breakfast) is very poor in relation to the price of the night and in no way corresponds to the 5-star standard advertised on the Booking.com website. - The words "excellent location" on the Booking.com website are misleading: during the floods, the center was more than 45 minutes away by bike, making the journey dangerous, unpleasant and impossible once the sun had gone down. Holbox beach is by no means 100 meters away. - Our room did not have a terrace, although it is stated that each room has one. - Soap and toiletries were not provided. We were not reimbursed, neither by the hotel nor by Booking.com despite our bill running up in the thousands of dollars.
