Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandIt was a little noisy in the bedroom. I'd recommend bringing ear plugs.
Our host Wolf was amazing. He really made sure we were happy, he gave us lots of time and advice on things to do and his breakfasts were a real treat!

United KingdomI'm a light sleeper and found the street quite loud at night and early morning. Putting the fan on was great for drowning it all out though.
A beautiful apartment in a central location. A lovely breakfast. A gorgeous, large room.

JapanAs some people commented, the bathroom is shared, but other things overpower this.
As everyone has been commenting, it is a beautiful place with a kind host in the right middle of the city center. It's a pity I stayed only for 2 nights. I could live there 😅

AustraliaIt wasn’t easy to find this place. When we reached the address, we saw a big apartment complex with a locked front door. Knocking produced no response. There was no signage anywhere so we didn’t even know if we were in the right place. We asked neighbouring shops if there was a guesthouse here, but they weren’t sure (it doesn’t help that this accommodation has no name). We then walked around the block looking for some kind of signage but found nothing. After half an hour, I had to make an international call to the host. He then came down and let us in without a problem. It’s unusual for a place on booking.com to have no signage, and for guests to be unable to enter by knocking. I think the host could mention these unusual factors on the booking.com page, or in a private message to guests prior to their check in date.
The location was perfect - right in the heart of the historic center. A lot of care has been put into the interior decoration of the apartment - you can tell that the host’s housemate is an artist. We found it very comfortable. We also loved the large bottle of drinking water and tea and coffee provided in our room.

Wolf was a wonderful host! He's a vegetarian, and he made us wonderful breakfast and great coffee every morning while we were there. If we ever return to CDMX, we will stay at this place again. The location was great, it's to the train. The public transport was easy to get around and reasonably priced. Los Tacos is probably our favourite taco spot (it is super close). Everything was clean and Wolf gave us a lot of tips and suggestions that made our navigation around the city much better.

United KingdomLovely place, right in the centre of Mexico City, easily reachable from the airport and a great starting point to explore! Wolf recommended us a lovely roof terrace. He is a super kind and sweet person - and as per other reviews, his breakfasts are AMAZING! His house is also fantastic, full of books and paintings. A way more genuine experience than your usual hotel!

It's a very cozy and tasteful decorated apartment. Even the bedroom is cozy. You feel home. Much better than the average boring hotel room, according to us. We especially enjoyed the traditional breakfast. Every day different (we staid one week). Wolf is very helpful with all the needs you have. The location couldn't be better. Right in the middle of this beautiful city center.

NetherlandsBreakfast was great and really healthy! Every morning the host bought fresh food and prepared it himself. There was fruit and tea and coffee. What made it really special is that there was also traditional Mexican food. During my stay it was Dia de los Muertos so there also was pan de los muertos! Also the host really did everything he could to make my stay the best stay possible. Can highly recommend if you are a solo traveller and you want to make a warm landing in a new city. Wolf took me to Dia de los Muertos celebrations, showd me around town and even walked me to the busstation.

PolandNot so much we did not like, but a friendly advice about features that were not clearly advertised, but shall be: there is a shared bathroom (however over 7 days stay there was no problem with access, with 4 prs at the property). The room overlook the very busy street, closing the window is not enough to bring the noise down to the level for a peaceful sleep. Earplugs worked perfectly well. There is no intercom or the bell to the property - so be sure to have your phone ready to notice your host of your arrival at the entrance door of the building.
Great experience of living in artist's flat. Pieces of art and paintings you can contemplate while walking along the winding corridor toward your spacious room with comfortable bed and a good WiFi. Wolf, the host, extremely caring and attentive, but leaving you space for minding your business. He offered a range of tips and tricks on city transport, directions, restaurants or hidden places that waaay improved and eased our stay in CDMX and around. All this every day with a delicious Mexican breakfast, and every morning introduced to something interestingly different. Location could not be better - next to restaurants, transport hubs, shops - both local for locals and those more glamour. Definitely will book again!
