The food and drink were very disappointing. We had breakfast in the Vela restaurant as we saw a promotion when we arrived, we ordered straight from their menu (which was very limited for breakfast and not at all what you'd expect in Mexico). The Eggs Benedict were an utter disappointment. They were overcooked and it seems they were put in an oven because the sauce was hard and dry. They did not have salmon (as stated in the menu) and did not resemble any eggs Benedict I've had anywhere else in the world. The French Toast we ordered was just a piece of bread (no egg at all) with cream top and some berries. Again it did not resemble any French Toast anyone could hope to expect when ordering. Their cocktails were equally disappointing. The Michelada with Clamato was almost undrinkable. It had way way too much sauce (particularly Worcestershire sauce), so much so you couldn't taste the Clamato, or the beer for that matter. Their Margaritas were more like a lime slushie. I thought I could taste a hint of tequila in them but I'm not sure if I was just imagining it. One of the bartenders at the pool bar was a little unpleasant, but his more chipper and attentive colleagues made up for it and decided to give it a pass.

The hotel was very nice, with the beach right in front and a very large pool. The room was outstanding in presentation and facilities. The bathroom was very spacious and comfortable with a lovely shower and huge mirror. The air-conditioning thermostat gave you the illusion it let you choose the temperature but in reality it always cooled down to 18°C. But it wasn't unmanageable; we just turned it off at night. The TV was very large and had a great selection of channels, though being a Smart TV it was disappointing not being able to use my Netflix or Disney+ on it. Overall the staff were super friendly and accommodating. They were all very kind. We were given a nice discount on food and drinks throughout our stay but that didn't make up for the quality.

they were empty literally and refuse late check out for more than an hour. When time came up I express my discomfort and then they offer a late check out with my luggage already at the lobby.

The pillows and comforter were stinky, the sheets smelled clean but the heavy linens had BO, which made it hard to sleep on. The restaurant was pricey for an average food.

the food is expensive, there is no other restaurants within walking distance, they don't have a store with snacks that you can get after hours

Although pool was cleaned daily, much beach sand was still visible on floor bottom. This can definitely improve :-/

Best location by far in comparison to other Hotels if you are looking for a beachfront Hotel :)

one of the servers chose her tip amount automatically as she skipped through the prompts on the credit card machine without asking what percentage I wanted to give. I would’ve already tipped the highest tip without her having to do that. construction noise, and dust. I know inevitable but maybe not on a Saturday?

The toilet made a squealin noise from time to time whenever i flushed it.

I loved the convenience of the restaurant but the I got food poisoning from likely the spinach in my omelette. Everything else was great and my companion ate everything I did EXCEPT for the spinach in the omelette. It was probably the sickest I can remember in ages. Not sure how to avoid that sort of thing but you just hope it is all ok. I ended up going to a local Farmacia to get meds after getting checked out. Thank god for Mexican medical.

Great location to the Malecon. Staff was friendly and attentive. I was surprised to find only 1 towel in the room but staff corrected it quickly. The A/C blew cold and the views from my room were great. THere could be some improvements in maintenance and the surfaces could be cleaned better. Great musician playing in the restaurant and the food was tasty but see below.
