Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt's not the cleanest hotel - some of the towels were stained (the staff hanged them when asked) and the sheets had black marks on them. The breakfast is expensive for what it is - you're better off going for chilaquiles nearby. There's no fridge in the room (although there is a communal one to share). It would be good to have some basics like bottled water available.
Nice2 little independent hotel in the middle of the main beach in Acapulco. Staff were super helpful and relaxed. The pool is great (I mostly had it to myself) - there is sun and shade on it all day. The room looked exactly like the picture, with a huge bed and a good rain shower too. I felt safe on the side street leading to the hotel and had no problem with the front door as mentioned in other reviews. Great location for taking the buses up and down the coast.

MexicoStaff was helpful but they are not around all the time, so we had to wait for the receptionist to open the outside door, and this sometimes took about 3-5 minutes. If they could be more present it would be better. Also, they did not come to clean our room (it was a 2 night stay). There are stairs to access the rooms, but if you're not bringing too much luggage or have any physical challenge, it should not be a problem. Hotel is kinda new, so most taxi drivers have not heard about it or know where it is.
The place is nice, well decorated and clean, the pool was very comfortable, with warm water. There are not so many rooms so we could enjoy the pool by ourselves for almost all the duration of our stay, so it kinda felt we had the whole place for us. It is close to the beach. Breakfast was very good and not so expensive. It is great for a weekend get away mostly for couples.

United StatesIt was a lot of stairs to get up to our room so if you dislike stairs, I would ask for room 1 or a lower number, but you won't get the nice views that we did being at the top.
The views from our room were amazing!! Could see the city and the bay as one whole side of the room is windows/ sliding door (with shades for privacy). The room itself was cute and clean. Parking is only on the street but we had no issues and it was nice and close to the door. There was the option for breakfast at an additional charge which looked good but we didn't eat there (we ate around the street at the Green Apple very good)

United KingdomCould have done with a hairdryer, an iron and a fridge in the room. Also to get in the main door you had to press a buzzer and then you were let in. might be better to provide a front door key.
It was modern and comfortable with a lovely terrace and a nice pool.

MexicoWe stayed in a one-bedroom, we found no towels in our room and the staff didn't know where to get them. The bathroom had a horrible smell, that could also be perceived in the bedroom. The walls are quite thin, so you can hear a lot of what's happening in the next door rooms and pool area if your room is facing that side.
The place looks quite new/modern and the pool area was good. They let us check in and check out whenever we needed to and the terrace in the room was very nice.
