Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaLovely space, comfortable room, great location with lots of food and drink options around. Street food, restaurants, bakeries. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe and warmly welcome and looked after. The jug of fresh juice with sparkling mineral water is amazing.

United StatesWe had a wonderful stay here. The location is great, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. It was like a little garden oasis in the middle of the city. We were pleasantly surprised at the amazing breakfast as well. Hoping to come back next time we’re in Mexico City.

United StatesI wish I would have a coffee maker in my room, or at least hot water in the lobby so I can make some tea. I really needed it and got sick during my trip because I didn’t have enough hot liquids. That was quite inconvenient.
Very nice hotel. Beautiful premises. Room and bed were very comfortable. Location is really good: few blocks away from Angel de La Independencia. And it was surprisingly quiet (considering central location). I really liked breakfast options: interesting things to try in the omelets: corn mushroom and pumpkin flower.

United StatesIt is recommended to save water, which I support; however, it takes a very long time, before the warm water arrives in the shower. A lot of clean cold water runs down the drain, before it gets warm.
The place has charm, beautiful gardens with seating arrangements outside. Staff is helpful and polite. Dining tables are beautifully set, there are plenty of menu options. My bed was very comfortable. I like the neighborhood a lot. It doesn’t feel like being in a huge city at all, but rather like being in a welcoming small town. This was my third stay here since 2021. Thank you!

United KingdomSome street/restaurant noise in the late evening but to be expected to an extent. Ear plugs and closing the windows sorted it out.
Rooms were spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Location was convenient for getting around and felt safe. Garden was beautiful and I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it!

United StatesNo complaints! The restaurant offered family-style seating around large tables, so we opted to have breakfast elsewhere in the neighborhood, which offers all kinds of cuisines and ambiances.
Excellent guest facility in a quiet compound very near the US Embassy. The compound is composed of several older buildings, with a connecting courtyard containing tables and chairs, offering ample opportunity to relax. With older furnishings and paintings in the public areas, one feels as if one were a guest in a private residence.

United StatesThere is nothing I didn't like. My favorite hotel in Mexico City.
I have stayed here many times, and I always have an excellent experience. I'll just repeat what I said in my review from my last visit: Relaxing, oasis atmosphere in the garden around which the buildings of the Casa Gonzalez are situated. Old world charm--they have only changed the things that they need to. Very friendly staff. Opportunity to meet other travelers around the large "communal" tables in the dining room where they serve breakfast and dinner. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location in a residential neighborhood within walking distance to many of the sites you will want to visiut.

Singaporeno elevators. aged rooms.
straight to the point. my room is observably worn and can do with some refurb, although its spacious, clean definitely still in a “stayable” condition. toilet is another story, its a little tight in space with the bath tub taking up most of the space and toilet bowl right beside it and next to a wall. staffs are polite and responsive. helped with my parking late at night. didn’t really interact much other than check in and out. also didn’t manage to try the in house cafe/restaurant so no comments on that. for location, i guess its a place where its not near anywhere significant but not too far to uber anywhere in the city too. feels relatively safe area. value for money.

United StatesNo complaints!
I loved our stay at Casa Gonzalez. The room was excellent (I loved that you get so many pillows) and the courtyard was a wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle of Mexico City. The location was good if you like walking. We walked to both the Museum of Anthropology and the Palacio Bellas Artes and they were nice walks but they did take 40+ minutes. However, it was easy to Uber when we didn't want to walk. Overall I recommend this hotel.

United StatesIt’s a quiet and cozy place, full of green and authentic Mexican elements. It feels like a mini Hacienda. I like that it’s very low key from outside but it’s so welcoming and wholesome inside, contrasting with the busy area around it. It’s not overpriced or pretentious. It’s an old-school property that has been well taken care of. The rooms are good size and beds are comfortable. Food is homey and tasty. Thanks to everyone that keeps this place alive.

We did not eat at the Cafe on premises, but there were always people there so it must be good. This is a terrific gem of a place. Would come back!

CanadaThis year our bathroom had an unpleasant odour - apparently from the sewer system. That was not the case in the room my sister-in-law had - nor for us last year when we stayed here.
The location is convenient and safe - and generally quiet other than weekend evenings when a nearby restaurant features a live band. The staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds are lovely, with a pleasant garden that includes tables and chairs in several areas. The rooms are generally quite spacious and some have balconies or ground floor terraces.

United StatesOnly one large towel per guest, hand towels would have been nice. No water glasses in room, although available from the kitchen on request. No facial tissues in room. No screens on windows, so mosquitoes can get in if they're open.
A charming older hotel with various buildings around a series of lovely outdoor seating areas in gardens. Nice indoor seating areas too. Warm, welcoming, helpful staff, 24/7 front desk. Quiet and secure. Great central location with very good dining options nearby. Beautiful dining room with good food. Very comfortable bed. Large, bright room with balcony. The larger rooms are worth a relatively small price differential. Great value overall. If you require a modern, high style hotel with air conditioning, this is not your place.

Bathroom was little bit old old-fashioned, but clean, and that was most important. Breakfast was nice and delicious, served in Talavera ware. Stuff was very gentle and helpful - Fernando, Issa, Betale, Jorge - (If I forgot someone to mention, or misspell the name, please forgive me) thank you once again for everything!
