Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsI really don’t know…
Perfect location. Just a small walk and you are in the “centre”, the beach, the ferry to Cozumel and the ADO busstation. Enjoyed the pool after a day of activities… Cecile the host is wonderful. She is there just to have a talk or to help you out and show you around the area. You feel very welcome!

MexicoJust that the city water system stopped at my final night there. Need to be prepared to that kind of situation in this country.
It was excellent there! Cecile was so nice and supportive, the room was clean with air conditioning, and there was a pool and tennis court right near. The beach was also accessible by a 5 minutes walk. It will be my first option at my next visit there!

CanadaSo close to all the activities in Playa Del Carmen, yet completely away from the noise. The host could not have been more accommodating, we had a very late arrival, and a late departure, and she provided plenty of help to smooth out our arrival. The house was exceptionally clean and lively, a pleasure to live there a few days.

NetherlandsI am not a fan of gated communities, but It does make it very clean and safe.
Close to the center, but far enough to have peace. A lot of nature around, it is stunning to walk around there. And Maya ruins to walk through. Waking up with bird sounds and those Mexican "capybaras" walking around, the peace while having my morning coffee. Good chats with the host and her guests.

HungaryFor breakfast there were only sweet things: banana muffin, fruits, toast with jam an cereal. Some eggs or cheese would have been nice.
Very nice owner from Canada, she gave us good tips where to go what to do. She gave us beach towels to use. We could refill our empty water bottles from her big water tank. She always made home made banana muffins for breakfast. It has a very good location, cca 7 mins walk to the beach and center of Playa Del Carmen and to the ferry which takes you to Cozumel.

Really a home away from home. Super cosy with all the facilities you have in your home. Cecile is an amazing host. So full of life & positivity. We were robbed on the bus coming in from Cancun Airport to Playa del Carmen. It was a tricky situation with no assistance from the Bus driver or so & we didn't know what to do. Cecile came over to the bus station, helped communicate with the police, took us to her home, got us settled in. Next day she drove us to the CAPTA center (Visitors support), helped explain & was our translator. Can't thank her enough for all the support. Even for the rest of our stay she kept checking on us. Even with the bad start her support really helped. House is super clean. Very bright and upbeat ambiance. Good facilities, nice and cosy room, bed and bathroom. It is in a nice gated community with security check going in and out. 10 minutes easy walk from 5th avenue & the main shopping places. There are a few restaurants close by along with a 7-11. So over all convenient and safe. That's a lot in Playa del Carmen. Having a host like Cecile adds up to the over all experience. Vini & I thank you for giving us a wonderful time. We will gladly host you any time if you happen to visit Dubai.

United KingdomThe bed was too soft for our liking. The room is a bit worn, but still very good value for money.
Cecil was a great host! She gave us good tips for our stay. The location is perfect, we love Playacar because it's quiet and green but the house is also very close to the main street. There is a lovely garden, a shared tennis court and swimming pool as well, which we didn't use as we prefer the seaside, but it's a good point if that's what you're after.

Cecile's home is such a beautiful place, in this exclusive community close to the beautiful beaches of Playa del Carmen. We felt so safe walking in the night in their highly secured neigbhorhood. The mall is just few steps away and the buzzling and hussling of local tourist spots in the area. I highly recommend Casa mi Tesoro to anybody visiting Playa del Carmen. Its simply the best, and our host Cecile is so friendly, helpful, and approachable for any of our concerns. Love love love!!!

Wifi worked fine and breakfast was a nice touch. I also really enjoyed taking daily morning tennis lessons from Ricardo to improve my game. United KingdomCecile’s place is the best on offer. The location is amazing, within a secure, gated community and just a short walk from the ADO bus station, the beach and fifth avenue. Cecile herself is an exceptional host and will do everything to make your stay as good as possible. The breakfast is tasty and a kick-ass start to the day. The beds are extremely comfortable and cosy with thin sheets to keep cool. The room has a fridge and coffee maker which are great little touches. The pool is quiet and clean and a great place to soak up the sun. Overall it was a perfect start to my stay in Playa!

Switzerlandit was everything we need. Cecile was a fantastic host, kind and concerned, full of tips and kept us informed. It‘s location is fantastic only a few minutes by foot into Playa del Carmen. No need to use our car, Her place has great security and a nice not crowded community pool shared only by a few of the surrounding property owners. We would definitely come again & advise other too also. Large bed, plenty of pillows, air conditioning and also a small fridge with complimentary beer. So kind 👍a real pearl !!!

CanadaYou are basically staying in someone's private condo/house but not in a good way. In this case a retired expat that rents out 2 spare rooms in her condo home. It's a BnB. Pro tip: never stay anywhere that requires 10am checkout and is knocking at your door 10 minutes after 10 asking you to leave. I stayed 5 nights. The room was never cleaned except when i asked for new towel and then someone came to empty the garbage and make my bed. Note: you'll have to ask for a fresh towel or sheet because It won't be offered. Next: The host informed me twice during my stay how electricity costs in Mexico are expensive and then nagged me on three separate occasions to shut my AC and lights before leaving my room. On the 2nd day I discovered scaffolding around the house and outside my bedroom window. No one warned me about this. One morning i came out of the bathroom and a Mexican worker was looking right at me through the window. Nice:-( I was promised a pink bracelet to get through the gate but never got one:-( Had to show my booking reservation each time. The place itself is a bit run down and tattered. Bathroom looks moldy. Hot water is ok for about 5-10 minutes. Toilet has poor pressure. Requires 2-3 flushes. Bed was way too soft. Pillows were horrible. Sheets and blankets were also awful. Room had one thin sheet. Had to ask for a blanket and was questioned why i needed it.. asked if I was running the AC? What? Forget it. Who needs a nanny for a host? For $20 more a night you can find much better accommodation near the bus station that is clean, quiet, private, professionally run, with real beds, appointments, proper bath, room cleaning everyday and a balcony, no one nags you about the AC and you won't have construction workers looking at you through your bedroom window.
Close to the ado bus station, however it was in a gated condo community with a check-point-charlie guard which made coming and going a PIA. WiFi was really good. Actually, the only good thing. Modern safe. The only reason I stayed here was that it was a last minute thing and my usual place in Playa was booked up.
