Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaInternet is not the best but we don’t expect to have same internet speed as the big cities. Also sometimes there was a sewage smell coming from the drains, that could be fixed with some odour traps.
The design is great. We love that is simple but has everything you could need. Staff is very friendly, the Manager is always around and willing to help when you need any assistance. WE LOVED THE POOL. Have in mind this is not a nude optional hotel.

CanadaNothing. There are some animal noises throughout the night but my partner and I found them calming.
Loved the pool! The whole place is really pretty and it's a nice short walk to both beaches. Also, the soap smells amazing.

Czech RepublicThe double beds are really small, but this happened to us in most of the places we visited. The view from our room was not the best. But in general we loved the hotel!
We loved the pool so much! The hotel is nicely located in the middle of trees and palms. The design of the whole place is just perfect. Super close to the beach.

United StatesPerhaps beverages besides coffee would be nice but there is good late hour mini- convenience store about one minute away from the property.
Very nice place. So enjoyed the owner, her manager and the great cool saltwater pool...swam in it many times each day. I e if the nicest youth hostels you'll find and only steps from the lovely beaches.

MexicoIt’s a bit far from the center of Zipolite, but it also makes it have a great location away from the noise.
I liked the common areas, the fact that’s surrounded by nature and the friendly staff, they helped me when I needed it. It’s very close to the beach and the main road.

United StatesGetting to the hotel required a bit too off-roading to get there as it's tucked away through a bit of jungle with no paved road with no clear signage. We had to call to be guided in. Note that there are lots of stairs!
The rooms were great, spotless and clean. Very comfortable.

CanadaThe entire place feels like it is part of the natural environment, the rooms are simple but perfect, very comfortable beds, the shower is great, the view is amazing. They supplied natural mosquito repellent, two plug in raid dispensers if you are worried about it. I heard one mosquito and had zero bites. The pool is lovely and refreshing, the hotel is at the end of the main beach and is walkable to the main street in town. They supply towels and hand towels for use in the hotel. The AC and fan work well and are mostly not necessary as it's mostly in the shade until later in the day. I would absolutely recommend staying here. The drains in the bathroom have clear plastic covers over them, you don't really see them and will cause the water to flood, just move them when showering and put them back after.

Canadathe no ac rooms essentially have incomplete walls (for ventilation), but that also means a lot more mosquitoes.. beware if you're booking one of those (and maybe the hotel can actually add some nets -this was the only downside in this place)!
a lovely hotel in a hidden spot that's much quieter than anything on the beach, but it's still super close to the beach. calm vibe, no parties, cute pool and comfy rooms and beds. also hot shower which seems isn't obvious in zipo.

United KingdomThe rooms were not super well insulated and could hear noise from other rooms. not a lot of daylight. the wifi wasn’t great which is common in Zipolite. one night there were a lot of mosquitos which hindered sleep. but that was only one night..
What a beautifully designed hotel. every detail is cared for. The pool is a salt water pool made from materials from cenotes in the Yucatán. it’s outstanding. You get a true authentic regional feel with a touch of real luxury. The photos don’t do it justice! it’s much better in person! they should get better photos. I also loved that it’s located on its own large and very rough and wild patch of land. loved the feeling of being in the jungle and it also meant it was one of the most quiet places to relax in Zipolite. I stayed in 3 different places and this was the most quiet. The staff were amazing, super helpful with everything.. and how great to have hot water on demand! which is rare in Zipolite! would definitely stay there again!

CanadaLots of mosquitos, no screens on the windows. They give you a plug in of Raid and recommend plugging it in at sun down but my partner got bit 200 times (I counted). The stairs are not level so huge tripping hazard. Loud guests at night, seems to be a party place. They only give a sheet for the bed, no blanket.
Very nice spot for the price, pool was nice and cold, very new and cool-looking building. It's a very short walk to the beach, about 5-8 minutes. Lots of restaurants on the beach so it's a good location that way.

NorwayWi-Fi connection was terrible all over the place. Beds were comfortable but no air condition. Also a lot of mosquitos and no net. I think slept so bad at this place. Also I missed nice places to hang out. There’s some hammocks but there were so many mosquitos there by night. Also one woman in the reception had really poor energy.
