How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The water pressure in the showers was really low - an issue I faced around most of Mexico. Perhaps keeping a bucket will help as the taps worked fine, but the showers were not very effective.
Really spacious, clean, and bright, it was a really nice room.

The pillows were pretty thick so not the most comfortable and the water pressure in the shower could be better. Also the area is quite a walk from the centre so if you're a lone female traveller that's something to take into account. Other than that it was perfect.
The room was a great size, super clean and decorated well. Exactly what we needed for a 2 night stay on the island! Great communication from the host too, I would 100% recommend the studio if you're coming to Cozumel as a couple. Also check out Playa Casitas for some great snorkelling just up the main road (bit of a walk).

There is not really a window - although everything is closed and secured - and therefore quite some noise from the neighbourhood (cars, people)
Very clean, bottles of water at arrival, very nice decorated in the details. Also the owner of the Six store on the opposite helped me in the evening to get Mexican adapter which was very helpful and warm!

It’s definitely noisey! Barking dogs make sure this neighbourhood stays safe and unfortunately lot of car traffic, 30mins walk to ferry and everything
Well equipped, host is friendly and offers additional help, safe neighbourhood, little shop across the street

the owner was very kind and helpful and responds very quickly to messages. The apartment is located about 20 minutes walk from the port and a few minutes by car and has a very convenient self check-in

It's slightly out of the town but that was fine for us because it was so affordable!
Perfect for if you want a short trip or to go diving in Cozumel and want to stay on a budget! The person managing the property was lovely and did everything to make sure our stay was as easy as possible. They were very quick to write back to us and very helpful when we didn't get in until late, they met us from our taxi to show us the way! Very very budget friendly.

The accommodation is pretty far from everything (apart from the airport) but if you have a scooter of car that is no problem. Kitchen could be better equipped (cooking plate was not very trustworthy). If you are a light sleeper you are going to have trouble due to noise from the street and barking of the dogs in the neighborhood.
Clean room with a comfy bed. Airco works well. It's a small space but provides everything needed.

The neighborhood is a bit ‘rough’ looking and we were a bit worried when we parked our car outside overnight but there was nothing to worry about.
Really affordable, self-contained flat that is a relatively easy walk to/from the ferry terminal. Great communication from the hosts and easy self check-in.

at night neighbor dogs are barking on streets, because it’s not soundproof you will hear everything, but it has nothing with host

Parking situation for scooter was not perfect, because it's not advisable to park outside. You can park at the hosts garage, but you can't do it on your own. Can be very loudy due to barking dogs

Water outrage for several hours every day. This can happen any time.
Kitchen is well equipped. AC and water boiler work well. You can park right in front of the studio.

If you have a car or a scooter, this place is perfect! Very friendly and professional hosts, the room is spacious and clean, well equipped, strong wifi. Highly recommended!
