Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomExtras were quite overpriced due to the remote location. We paid almost 28 gpb for a small bottle of sun screen!
Great beach location, fantastic staff, brilliant food and drinks! We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and 5 days to end our honeymoon! We would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing stay in an idyllic setting with fantastic staff and great food options! We stayed in a honeymoon suite, which was lovely, for an even more special time, pick one of the swim up or pool apartments though! Check in was good, organised and provided us with a welcome drink! Unfortunately though, after writing on our booking that it was our honeymoon and in booking a honeymoon suite the hotel didn’t note it which meant we didn’t have a sign on our door and the bed made with petals. This sounds small but as we walked passed many other rooms with it on it made my wife feel less special. That said, my husband had a word with the concierge and they sorted it for the next day. The food was great in every restaurant, or favourite was Los Papitos for breakfast and lunch. A great start to the day with Fernando our amazing waiter everyday, serving with a smile and jokes. He was brilliant. During the day the activities team made the day go by with lots of fun activities on offer! a huge thank you to Alejandro, Mimi and Marlon who were so much fun and outstanding at their job. A huge credit to the hotel.

United KingdomThere is a lot of construction going on right now, 2 bars are shut and 3 restaurants. Although the food from the restaurants is being offered at one of the others to cover. They also build a new/make shift bar on the beach which is a better location. We booked a honeymoon suite which they clearly didn't have for us, so tried to charge is $90USD and then £45USD per night to upgrade, when we said no to both they gave us it for free. Cheeky B*****s. Rick's bar is the main late night area, its awful. It doesnt fit with the beach front paradise, its just a grey function room, they need to change this ASAP.
The resort itself is great, has a lot on offer. The staff a phenomenal, they will do anything and beyond. The food at each restaurant was fantastic, and the cocktails at the bar are great. lots of great good food and drink options. The activities were good, and the beach was a dream.

United StatesWe visited in 2020 and maybe because it was COVID we had a better experience (there weren’t tons of travelers) but everything we liked then was lacking this time. The only constant is the incredible staff and the sales pressure to become members. The food was severely lacking this time around we found only one place out of the five that was a good meal consistently. We booked our room through booking and based on the description online we believed we were getting a honeymoon villa. It was described as a two floor, ocean front abode with a private pool. What we got was a honeymoon suite at the back of the property with a view of about five feet of pool. The room reeked of sulfur and mold. The bathroom had only a glass partition separating it from the room and it is directly in front of the door into the room, so when housekeeping or room service showed up and you were in the bathroom changing you had to run into the shower or toilet room to hide! The deck outside was a slab of concrete and was directly next to an area where staff were working, so the clattering of plates was a constant. There was a waterfall outside the room as well that was so loud you almost couldn’t have a conversation over it. Cigarette smoke wafted up from down below and stagnated in this location simply because it was tight quarters and there was nowhere for the smoke to go. The furnishings were cheap and the area felt like it had been long forgotten. As a girl who grew up near the projects it felt familiar! We paid nearly 8 thousand for 8 nights however, so it shouldn’t have felt like we were staying at a Motel 6. We went to management and got another room for an up-charge of course, but were not able to get in until three days into the trip. We moved to a beautiful area, everything about the new room was spectacular, the furnishings, the flooring, the ocean front balcony to the private pool was amazing. We have no complaints about it whatsoever.
The location is great. Beautiful beach, well manicured, the grounds are very clean. The staff are exceptional. Carlos, he assisted us with our bags both coming and going, is amazing. Friendly, efficient and a wealth of information. Diego, Eli, Betsabe, Pablo and Missile were just a few of the waiters, bartenders and beach staff that were incredible. Perla one of the massage therapists is ahhhhmazing, I highly recommend her. If it wasn’t for the incredible staff I’m not sure this place would be what it is, they make up for a lot of what is lacking. The size of the property is perfect. It’s pretty quiet and there are areas away from the main beach to get away from the crowds and loud music.

United StatesThe concierge staff (basically front desk) were not very helpful and often required several reminders to get basic requests accomplished--some requests were never met after several confirmations from front desk. Prices and options would often change based on which concierge we talked to. I was smart enough not to do it, but the 'one hour soft sell' timeshare tour my friend did turned into a three hour hard sell ending in berating and insults from seller. Main resort is older and in some disrepair: our front door didn't close well and our patio door didn't lock at all. Some of the restaurants are under construction and the ones that are open are only open on certain days. No one on the staff seemed to know which days (we got different answers from everyone) and the official schedule was usually wrong.
The location is beautiful and the resort is very nice, if a little dated. The service staff were all friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks were mostly good.

United StatesAs stated above, most food was sub par. The meals that were good (outside of Lima Limon) were paid for (romantic beach dinner, Palafitos, etc). Also mentioned above were the staff. Most were great. Some were terrible. Having to argue with reception multiple times about the same subject and over charges made the whole stay significantly less special. Also, asking questions to staff throughout the resort would most likely get you an assortment of drastically different answers. Questions like "what restaurants are open for dinner tonight?" would get a slew of different responses. It became almost comical. Also asked one employee where Rick's Bar was so I could meet some friends who were already there. The employee told me that Rick's was closed tonight. I asked if he was sure and he responded that "he was positive." Not quite sure if that was someone who was just uninformed, messing with the gringos, or selfishly not wanted more people that make his job more difficult. Either way, I eventually found it on my own and joined my friends.
The food was hit or miss. Some (Lima Limon) meals were really great. Some were very sub par. The room, spa, beaches, and "most" staff were great. Some staff... not so much!
