How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The lady at breakfast at 11th of May was RUDE. The hotel is old. Pool is cold, crowded and loud.
The Staff at the reception was ok. I had a problem with my room and they gave me another room. Breakfast was good. Beds are ok.

Even though the hotel seemed big, it was so dark in the room! And we could hear our neighbors and I wish I didn't have to wake up from some of the odd sounds that came through the walls. We had a broken fridge in the room which made strange noises, so I wish that was also removed as it served no function. The bathroom had mold in the ceilings and the walls could do some new and fresh layers of paint, so it doesn't make you question how often things get cleaned. The linen and bedding could also be upgraded to new ones.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had a good welcome, as well as check-out with the luggage storage option until our flight. The room was well suited for a family - beds big and comfortable. The room had a bathroom with a bath, spacious closet and television.

Wifi is nerve racking very slow (room on 5th floor) A/C loud & directed too much on the beds

We found a little bug in our room. Also, the staff took a little to give us the room, and we had to wait for them to take out another bed from the room because they didn't have another room. The surrounding area was not the best.
The room was very nice and we enjoyed it a lot. The pool was beautiful and relaxing. The staff was warm and accomodating. Overall, it was a great, fun, cozy, and relaxing experience. Would totally recommend!

However, the whole hotel is crying out for a big refurbishment, as it is starting to show its age.
Central location, a breath away from the historical centre. The rooms were comfortable and clean. There is a security guard outside during the night so we always felt safe when we were coming back from our walks.

Our room didn't get cleaned consistently during our stay and had to call reception to ask for cleaning/water/toilet paper.
Helpful and accommodating staff at the reception (especially the manager). Good location close to the metro entrance. Good food choices in the area. Nice pool area.

Bar was closed the whole time
After a very disappointing first room, the staff upgraded me for free, giving me the choice of multiple rooms. The tour provided for the pyramids was great, as was our driver.

The bed in our room was uncomfortable so we didn’t sleep very well unfortunately and it smelled odd in the room, almost like soup.
The location and the free private parking that is amazing for Mexico City

The attitude of the bellman when we arrived a little early and had to leave our luggage with the reception. Also, Water bottles were provided only on the first day. We weren't aware of this abd were told upon asking that there would be a charge for additional bottles for the rest of our stay. The equipment in the fitness room were in dire need of repair .
