There was a lot of noise from the Zocalo that you could hear from our room. (We had a balcony room). There was a protest and construction in the Zocalo at the time of our visit, it was noisy even at night. The accomodation very kindly allowed us to move rooms to the back of the building (without a balcony, but had a nice internal garden view), which was very peaceful!

The hotel had a "dead" feel to it compared to all the other hotels we stayed at in Mexico. There is a 24-hour free "cafe" which is poorly equipped and not staffed -- for the price we paid, would have expected more. The other hotel we stayed at next to this one had people staffing the cafe, and offered many food and beverage options. It was our anniversary, but the hotel did not note it in any way.

The hotel is very beautiful, with an enormous Tiffany-style ceiling in the foyer. Out room and bathroom were big and the bed very comfortable. The location, close to the Zocalo, was convenient for many of the big sights.

everything was great except one of the staff who was unfriendly and not helpful at all. It was mainly my mistake to have overlooked the booking as we arrived into Mexico city at 5am. My Partner and I were prepared to pay for an additional night but there was no more room available according to the front desk staff on duty that day, which was totally fine and understandable. However, when I asked the staff if he could suggest or recommend any hotel nearby so we could have a look, he was uninterested to engage and just brushed us off. We finally found a place by ourselves via the internet and when we again asked for help to call a taxi, he tried to ignore us and when I pressed on, he just bluntly told us to call an Uber by ourselves. Honestly, it was a shame as this is not the kind of attitude/service I expected from a hotel of this caliber. Otherwise, the overall experience has been great and other staff was very helpful.

The biggest issue is not within the hotel’s control. I chose a room with a view of the Zocalo. While stunning, this also resulted in a much noisier than anticipated room as there was overnight work/construction being done in the central plaza. There was also a drumming group on the plaza most nights until 10-11 pm.

Stunningly beautiful building well located in the Centro Historico. Very attentive staff. Lovely terrace with a delicious breakfast buffet.

A little more light maybe, but actually everything was wonderful.

This hotel is right on the main plaza of Mexico City and could not be better for our tourism purposes. The room was on the other side of the plaza, so quiet (after 8 p.m. -- much music, mostly enjoyable, before that. View from room was nothing to write home about, but all we had to do was go up up floor to terrace for amazing view of plaza (and great meals and drinks). Room service was awesome, all the staff as well/

The location on the Zocalo made it difficult for drivers to access. There are also a lot of steps to ascend in getting into the hotel from the street. This makes it difficult for older folks or people with mobility issues.

Beautiful hotel and staff was wonderful from beginning to end. The breakfast was fabulous.
