The roosters got kind of loud during the night and early morning.

Breakfast was at an additional cost. We love the place and the workers.

The staff were all very kindhearted and helpful. A special gracias to José who works the overnight shift. They make a good, substantial breakfast, served poolside. The pool is small, but very cool and refreshing. My goal was to visit the ruins at Cobá, and then just relax and read. I was able to achieve both quite comfortably and at a good price. My room was spotlessly clean. Make sure you ask for daily cleaning or they leave you alone.

Chickens, roosters, sheep, dogs, cats, oh my... quite a cacophony!

Close to the ruins, lovely view of the lake (and its toothy residents), walking distance to restaurants, bikes available to rent to cycle to the cenotes, welcoming hosts.

The hotel was good and met all our needs,, but be aware of the taxi mafia who are very expensive and operate under the Tulum umbrella of sucking as much money as possible from the tourists. Always ask the price prior to getting in or they will try to charge you $40 US for a 5 km ride to a cenote. When they pull out the plastic sheet with ridiculous prices just walk away, or rent a bicycle. There is next to no info on how to get in or out to Coba without a car, but there are various Oriente buses that come through every day around noon, 3 pm and 5 pm from Valladolid and Tulum. Ask locals for the times and be flexible because buses may come early or late by 30 minutes. They stop at the main corner 1 minute away from the hotel

This underused hotel was an excellent place to stay in Coba. Loved the balcony view across the lake in the morning. Coba is a very small Mayan village that is incredibly peaceful compared to pretty well every tourist area in the Yucatan with many small restaurants close by and the coba archeological site 5 minutes away. Very clean, good security in a very safe place, good wifi and a/c. Pool available for an afternoon swim and great staff. We stayed a week (we've got the time) and really enjoyed the place, particularly the ruins, the variety of cenotes, and relaxed energy. The hotel is well situated to enjoy everything including photo ops of some crocodiles across from the hotel

Everything was great! Just need to use the earplugs as the village animals are quite noisy.

Super cute, comfortable and nice hotel by the lake. Looked brand new. It was possible to rent a bicycle to cycle to cenote Choo-ha 7km away along the village road in the underground cave in middle of the jungle. Lovely and clean pool for swimming. Breakfast could be ordered additionally and was very helpful before the exploration of Coba pyramids. I'd recommend going there by 8am to be able to walk around alone in the jungle before the crowds arrive. Coba has real village feel with dogs, goats and roosters singing for you outside :)

Nothing!! Was fabulous! Maybe a kettle in the room but that’s just because I’m English!!

I loved this place!! It felt like home! The staff were so kind and attentive and it was so peaceful and calm. Also, it was a 2 minute walk to the bus stop and amenities and a 10 minute walk to the Coba ruins. Perfect!!

The pool never seemed very clean so we didn't go in it.

Walking distance to Coba and means you avoid the parking fee. The rooms were nice and breakfast was amazing - lovely fruit and a variety of types of main dishes to choose from on a menu.

I did not like the scented toilet paper. Dogs and birds in the neighborhood could be noisy at times, but that is obviously not something the hotel can control!

The location is great, right off the lagoon and main road. Very close walk to the archaeological zone and delicious restaurants. The room and bathroom were well appointed and the bed was comfortable. The staff were attentive and cared about my comfort, and were helpful when I needed a taxi. Breakfast was excellent and varied - way better than I had expected. The pool and hammock area is a nice touch.

About the solar shower: it worked well most of the time; I only had problem once after it got dark.

I stayed at Hotel Itza Cobá for a week, and enjoyed slow exploration of the ruins and leisurely strolls around Laguna Cobá for birdwatching. Many other travelers raved about the staff and I totally second that. They brought me a pillow seeing me lying in the pool-side hammock and got me a brand new electric kettle for daily tea making. The location and amenities are great for the price. The a-la-carte breakfast was delicious and super convenient. Often I would get the meal after my early morning excursions and the staff were very accommodating. The room and bathroom are spacious compared to what I had elsewhere in Mexico. The minibar and AC both worked really well.

Guys, if you want to see the culture of Mexico, go to Coba, a litlle village near the piramids, very calm, very friendly, from sure you will feel the culture of Mexico. Itza Coba Hotel, is in very good location, very close to the lagoon, to the piramids and to the station bus. Near the hotel you can walk on the streets in the village, very nice experience, the staff of the hotel are very nice and very friendly!!! Recomand this hotel!!!

It's not that I didn't like but I guess it might be an useful detail for the others - you can hear the noises coming from the streets and animals, so if you have not really deep sleep, make sure to bring the ear pads. :)

Very clean room, friendly and helpful receptionists, delicious breakfast (especially the one that was served to us today). Amazing location, just about 5mins from the ruins. Nice restaurants around.

There was not one tiny think that I did not like.

This was the best hotel I stayed in in Mexico while traveling throughout the peninsula for two months. I stayed for 10 days, and everything was 100% perfect the entire time. That's not easy to do! The staff and owner are super kind, the architecture and design of the building are unique and beautiful, the food at breakfast is delicious and made to order, the rooms are very comfortable, and it is spotlessly clean. In this hotel you are surrounded by nature and yet only steps from the ruins and several excellent restaurants -- all easily walkable. In addition, the wifi and cable were great, and the water was excellent!!! Best water pressure I've experienced in Mexico. Finally, the people in the village of Cobá are so warm and friendly that you will definitely want to spend time here. You can view the gorgeous sunsets over the lagoon and see the top of one of the buildings in the archeological zone, all from the front steps of the hotel. Perfect place, excellent people.
