Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe Wi-Fi was patchy, and some times completely unusable. I work remotely so booked this place specifically as the WiFi had good ratings but it was really bad. There were times I was unable to even open my emails let alone do any any actual work. Tried all 4 different networks they provided but some didn’t even connect and others were bad.
The property was lovely, nicely decorated with a nice roof terrace and we had a nice balcony. The room was cleaned daily, unless you ask for it not to be. Nice neighbourhood, never felt unsafe. Not much around but only a 15 min walk to stuff. Taxis were about $100mxn from the centre.

United StatesIt's on small "quiet" residential streets with homes (and a few small businesses)... which means (in Mexico) barking dogs day and night, sometimes constant fireworks, some brass bands and sound trucks blasting out announcements, etc. Still, this is much better than a street in the center with traffic rumbling by and frequent car horns (on a busy street).
It's a friendly, clean little hotel. I'm not sure if the staff spoke English, but they were always friendly and helpful. For instance, I asked about a cab the night before I left. When I came to reception the next morning to check out, the cab was already on its way. My room (101) had a little balcony with a view over the (typically Mexican) cluttered rooftops toward the city. There are some great restaurants just a few minutes' walk away down a steep pedestrian street. Coming back from a day walking around the center felt like coming home.

MexicoNo coffee or tea in the morning, especially since there are no nearby restaurants that open early.
Very clean facility, excellent staff, location with great views and quiet neighborhood with little traffic. Very safe area day or night.. Healthy walk to the Zocalo and other attractions. Stairs and walking uphill slopes provide great exercise going to the hotel.

MexicoSome would say it’s far from the city center, but that did not bother us at all. 10-15 minutes walk and you are on an “andador” on your way to the main points of interest in Oaxaca.
Great hospitality, especially from Ivan giving us tips on the city tours. You can see on the details that the hotel is clean and well maintained. We were given a nice room with balcony, at which we enjoyed a lot! Parking is safe and they have a rooftop with beautiful city views. Honestlty, our stay exceeded our expectations. We’d come back!

United KingdomThe bedroom could have done with some lamps in addition to the main light.
Great little hotel. Basic, but has all that you need and was clean and comfortable. Plus a lovely rooftop terrace with stunning views of the city, and beyond. The staff were also lovely and accommodating and we extended our stay by an extra 2 nights.

IrelandThe rooms are a bit small. Otherwise it's a cute spot!
Hotel Cascade is a straight forward hotel with the basics. The pictures are as promised and the view of the city via the balcony is a bonus. Such a simple place with a lot of charm. I love that they have Netflix as means to add more comfort to your stay. It was a cute little touch. The location itself is also very cute and many nice food spots nearby. I would come back for a nights stay.

MexicoThere are almost no visible places to eat around, specially at night, however there is a nice pizza place almost in front of it and in the mornings the market is open at 7 am and they have several stands with nice pan, atole, coffe and all sorts of breakfast stuff
I think for the season it was a good option, it is a very simple out of the town centre hotel. It is located very close to the Xochimilco neigborhood so there are workshops, murals and very nice escenery in general around. The staff were polite and helped us with our enquieres and request, including making some extra space for parking.

United KingdomMy one small issue I had with the place was the bed position. Upon noticing it was flush with the wall we pulled it out so you have room to walk around the bed from both sides but the cleaner kept pushing it back. There is loads of room for the bed to be like this and it’s better in my eyes as you’re not climbing over the other person all the time and not sleeping pushing up against the wall - personally I’d change this
Loved the position of this - if you like somewhere a little further from the city and quiet, this is the place for you. It’s around a 20 minute pleasant walk to the city. Cleanliness was outstanding - really outstanding, the cleaners here are the best and tidiest I’ve ever come across Staff were excellent - we didn’t have the cash right away so the chap let me bring it the day after Fans available in the room, large bathroom and great views at the top of the property Also some fantastic coffee shops in the local area make this a great stay

ItalyIt is on the hill, so it is not recommended to go back by walk; The bed is not comfortable, the personal do not allow you to pay the right price, but a plus 3-5% of "commission" LIKE ALL Structures IN MEXICO if you pay by card
It was not noise, and for Oaxaca, it is an exception, there is a market closeby, easy to go to the center (approximately 15 minutes walking);
