Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room at first was a tad small but we easily got used to it. It was hot this week much to our surprise but they accommodated with fans.
The location in Roma Norte was excellent. East walking to restaurants. Pretty lined streets - lots of locals walking their dogs. The staff was incredibly friendly led by Eduardo who was gracious and lovely. So many nice decorative touches throughout. Very clean and the breakfasts were varied and helped start the day.

United StatesWiFi connection often dropped or disconnected. Rooms with windows to the covered courtyard got hot, not an issue for rooms with windows to the outside.
Wonderful and helpful staff, tasty breakfast. Location was convenient and quiet, located between the park and many restaurants.

United StatesThe staff at La Palomilla were fantastic, we enjoyed the breakfast each morning (we stayed for 5 nights and ate something different each morning, and loved starting with fruit and a different juice every day). We also spent time on the rooftop patio, which was a great place to finish our coffee and plan our day in the morning and unwind at the end of the day before heading to bed.

The staff were all exceptionally kind and helpful. They kept our room very clean and made us delicious breakfasts every morning. They knew us by name and had friendly conversations with us every morning and evening. They also provided useful suggestions about what to do in Mexico City.

United StatesCons: The WiFi was sometimes weak. Even when I connected to different WiFi accounts from my room, the signal was sometimes weak. No full length mirror in room. Not a con for me, but the building has no elevator. This is fine and typical of places in Mexico City. However, the stairs are steep and narrow. If you're not in certain physical health it would be hard for you to go up and down the stairs.
Pros: Great safe and quiet location near great restaurants and bakeries, friendly staff, clean building, they provided a heater, blanket, and fan, and a decent breakfast.

United StatesThe room was an internal room, so it only had a window to the hotel atrium. This was fine, but it did mean that the room was a little warm at night, even with a fan on.
This hotel is in old building, which has been beautifully modernised with tasteful artwork everywhere. The dia de los muertes decorations in the breakfast room and on the terrace were fantastic. The breakfasts were also really good. One day we came downstairs to fruit carved in the shape of a skull. On another day we were given a packed lunch for our trip to Teotihuacan, including a delicious and warm tortes de chilaquiles. The staff in the hotel could not have been more helpful.

United StatesThe room we had only had windows that opened to the inside of the building. It was warm at night without fresh air. They do provide a fan.
Hotel is on a cute side street, but a few blocks from a lot of restaurants and cafes. The included breakfast in the morning was amazing. Eduardo, who worked at the front desk, was so kind and helpful!

United StatesIf i had to come up with one negative, it would only be that the rooms don't have air conditioning. This is usually not a problem as CDMX doesn't get very warm, but we happened to be there during a heat wave. Still, the city cools off very nicely at night, so if you are in a junior suite you are in a street-facing room that has windows that open to the street and therefore you can get plenty of cool air at night. If you are in a Master suite, as we were, then your window opens up to a covered, indoor shaft (kind of like the core of the building was cut out to send light down to the first floor). That means you don't get much air flow through your window. Fortunately we were on the top (4th floor), so if you can handle 3 flights of stairs I recommend the Luni room. The door faces the terrace which means you could prop open the door and get some fresh air that way.
We stayed in La Palomilla for one week in June of 2023 and i would highly recommend it for anyone looking to stay in the Roma/Condesa area. I can't say enough about how perfect our stay was. Very clean and comfortable. The room was so clean, in fact, that I was comfortable walking around barefoot and there wasn't even a grain of dirt on the ground. The bed was nice and firm and the sheets were surprisingly soft, so I didn't feel like I was missing any of the comforts at home. It's on a very quiet street, so you will be able to sleep/nap any time without disruption. Our rate included breakfast, which I also highly recommend. Every morning we were treated to a big fresh fruit plate, homemade jams, granola, and a warm traditional Mexican breakfast which changed every day. The staff also used very sanitary practices and so we were very comfortable eating and drinking everything we were served. There were also a lot of small touches that were so special - the way they cut our fruit into little hearts on the first day, the little toys they gave us at breakfast, the small parting gift, afternoon cookies, and they even prepared a brown-bag breakfast for us the morning we left early for Teotihuacan. They made all kinds of special accommodations as needed. The staff were so kind and sweet, they felt like family! The rooms are very minimalist, in a good way. Not too overcrowded or overly decorated - nice, calm and simple, with cute touches. Full disclosure - we were in a Master suite, so we found the room to be of adequate size and had plenty of space for our luggage near the bed. We also had an ensuite bathroom which I found to be very large and modern. I did see the inside of one of the junior sweets and while it was smaller, I didn't think it was too small. The location is also top notch. Just a few blocks from Chapultepec Park and all its museums, and walking distance to some of the best restaurants CDMX has to offer.

United StatesInternal rooms are a bit warm when it's hot out since you don't get the breeze. Fans are provided and that is helpful.
