How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The weather outside was really warm. In the room, there was a fan as a lamp, anyway the room was warm during the night
The location and the building were amazing (in the city center, everything was super close!), as were the kindness of the staff and the overall vibe :)

The hotel is lovely, it was very clean, and pretty quiet. The cleaning lady was very kind to us as we both got really ill upon arrival. The hotel itself is a gracious establishment, very well maintained. The room and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is located a few blocks from the Zocalo, which was just a pleasant stroll, and there were coffee shops, restaurants, and entertainment nearby.

Early Breakfast or a working coffee machine in the lobby would be nice, since the organized tours start before anything opens.

Nothing needs to improve. Keep as is. Well, maybe 1 thing 🤔 and that would be a bar to have a nightcap. We managed to be very well because there were a few within a short walk. Thank you.we will return.
The added bonus for us was the excellent parking 👌 secure, enough for several vehicles and free. Perfect trip.

Balcony was small. But really? Who cares. Location was great. Close to everything you would want to do in Oaxaca. Amazing food everywhere. We would go back tomorrow!

Shower head needs descaling, no real outside space by the room but there’s a nice terrace on first floor. Having to pay for the room in cash is not helpful.
Very comfortable and quiet, nice room and good location near the centre of town. Complimentary tea in foyer but it ran out and wasn’t replenished.

The view from the entrance of our room was fantastic. The location of the hotel is perfect for everything (close to the bus station, the old town, the area with cafes and restaurants). My friend booked a tour with the hotel and that was all well organized. And the laundry service was super quick.

Great location, good price. Friendly staff. Our room was super quiet, tucked away in the middle of the building with an entrance from the garden. Hairdryer available from reception upon request.

Not a thing.
We had a room in the back and it was very quiet. Some hot water in the morning, more later in the day. Beds were very comfortable. Nice, fluffy towels. Coffee and water available in the lobby. They cleaned the room every day and the staff was courteous and friendly. They let us leave our bags for a bit after we checked out. The restaurant was good and not too expensive. Open 8-5 except Sunday.

Bathroom facilities.
Location is perfect. The lobby, the restaurant and staff are good and friendly. Food in the restaurant is ok, but very convenient if you don’t want to go out. Rooms are simple, but ok for the price. Our only issue was the bathroom. Flashing was periodically not working and it smelled from the pipes. So, nothing could be done.

Friendly, excellent location and very good value for money - it was quiet yet on the edge of the main historic centre; staff helpful and in old 'colonial' style building. Highly recommended

They don't accept cards and we had to go and withdraw money in order to pay for the room.
Excellent location and the hotel looks nice. The room was big, but the bathroom was very small. Helpful staff.

No elevator, but that’s common.

Old fashion hotel. No shampoo. Bring your own stuff. Serves it's purpose.
