Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOverall, the experience was positive but I really hated that the bathroom didn’t have hot water and the water was super salty. Even the “hot tub” in the spa was just luke warm. I didn’t think to look for hot water as an offered amenity. In addition, the bathroom was pretty small (toilet and shower in one small room) and grimey. The water wasn’t reaching the drain and the drain was disgusting. There was a small window in the shower but when we opened it there was a ton of dirt on the screen. We loved the property (staff, pool in the middle, rooms were cute, safety, location) but between no hot water and the nasty shower I don’t think we will be back😭.
The property was very well located with access to everything within walking distance. Staff was super friendly and we were always greeted with a friendly smile. We felt very safe. We also had a massage which was amazing and a great deal. We did a full packet that included a facial, exfoliation, sauna, massage and the tubs. We also got a cute drink and some fresh fruit after the massage which was not expected. My sister and I had the whole spa available to ourselves for 2 hours.

EstoniaThe nightlife in the city could be heard in the room. The pool area and sunbeds are few and there is a queue for them.
The hotel has a beautiful pool area and restaurant. Delicious cocktails from the bar. The location is convenient for walking around the city.

CanadaIt was Marti Gras so the first couple days were loud. But this is party town that doesn’t sleep. So if you like to party this is the place. After the 3 days of marti gras it simmered down…
Our second time there. Everything was exceptionally good. However the bed was uncomfortable. I don’t have a reason for it because last year we went and the bed was super cozy…we stayed in the same room so I have no expectation for it. However the staff is awesome. The manager found me private Spanish lessons which I really wanted. When I tried to find my own I was not lucky. Coba and chicken itza was awesome. Buy trips from the lobby (Alonzo or Alfonzo) is the man. I can’t remember his name but he was good. The breakfast is great in the restaurant connected to the hotel. Very central to everything going on…restaurants n the area are amazing. Especially La Familia the Italian joint out the front door and 1 1/2 blocks down on the right. The picture is off our deck

CanadaThe pool chairs were always occupied. We couldn't get a spot even the days we arrived as early as 8 AM. People arrive early, drop their things on a chair and go for breakfast. Either get more chairs for all guests, or restrict the time per chair so everyone can enjoy the pool.
The location is amazing, just a block away from everything. It's also quiet at night and, since it's adults only, there's peace and it's possible to relax and enjoy the time in Playa del Carmen. Each room has it's own little terrace which is nice.

United KingdomThe rooms were very basic and a bit old fashioned. Our hot water never worked so it was cold showers the whole time. There was a new guy training at reception who was really rude and wouldn’t open the door for my husband so he could use the bathroom until he had finished listening to a conversation that he wasn’t involved in. My husband waited 5 mins just to get out the door even though I asked him multiple times in Spanish to open it and he kept shooshing me.
The pool area and balcony’s are wonderful and feel very tropical. Also the main guy at reception during the day was so friendly and made us feel at home whenever we spoke to him.

United KingdomLack of sunbeds and lack of stopping other guests unnecessarily reserve them. Didn’t have unlimited/or general access with a reservation sort of access to the spa facilities.
The Spa facilities were great and the treatments wonderful. No general access to the sauna and jacuzzi, though, only when you have book as part of a treatment. Rooms were decent. They double sold a room one night so I had to move elsewhere then come back. They were spacious and clean and a had a massive bed. Shower was hot and powerful so great bathroom. There were not enough sun beds for everyone by the pool which didn’t bother me but the other guests thought they were in 1980s Benidorm and put towels down to reserve beds - which they then didn’t use for the most part until later in the day. So, don’t expect classy people to be staying here. They were all smoking cigarettes and getting burnt by the pool all day. If it does rain, or get cloudy, the other guests don’t want to give up their sunbeds so hover and leave them reserved with sodden towels. It really did spoil what is actually a beautiful space. The kind of person that goes to Playa is different to somewhere like Tulum, for instance, so it’s not really the hotel’s fault. The hotel could have, however, removed towels from unused sunbeds as I only wanted to lie on one in the morning after breakfast and before lunch when they were largely still empty but ‘reserved.

We borrowed the beach towels when we checked out and returned the towels when we came back to pick up our luggage. The other hotel we stayed in Tulum didn’t let us take towels to beach.

United KingdomThe rooms felt pretty shabby and you couldn’t open any windows. Although there was a mini bar you even had to pay for water.
The location of the property was fantastic, literally a street across from 5th avenue the main shopping street and then the beach beyond. The rooms were very spacious inside, plenty of storage ans they gave you robes which were handy.

FranceThe room was nice but not very modern for the price. Our fridge kept on making a clicking noise at night. Ended up unplugging it.
Great location, really easy to get by everywhere walking . Yet despite the central location the place is very quiet and peaceful. The pool is wonderful, and the cocktails master makes the best piña colada’s and mojitos we’ve ever tried. Personal is very neat, and helpful . The spa was a nice add, we had 30min hydrotherapy included each day of our stay.
