Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ArmeniaIt’s fairly dated. The place was probably good about 5 years ago, now it’s quite worn out. If it was cheaper, I’d had no complaints
Overall, it’s a good place to stay. It’s a bit away from the tourist hustle and bustle, but that’s exactly what I needed. There are still plenty of restaurants around. And the beach is just about 6 mins walk away. Communication in English happens via messenger, and the staff is very helpful.

GermanyOverall not much. The room had a kitchen but no table to sit so adding even a small one would make it more comfortable. Additionally we were told later in our stay that we are not allowed to move the sunbeds next to the pool which makes them unusable for much of the day because the umbrellas will not offer shade. It might seem like a small thing but I would be hesitant to return because of this as it essentially restricts the pool usability. I think a simple solution like adding protection on the furniture against scratching is more sensible.
Staff was super friendly and accommodating, the place was nice and clean and had everything we needed. The beds were huge which was amazing. The location is amazing - not in the chaos of the centre but close to cool bars and restaurants.

SwitzerlandThey require a USD200 depo during check in, what forces you to have cash with you, but we didn't have any problems to receive it back. Some people on the reception speak easy English, but still it is enough in order to properly communicate.
This is a very new hotel in a quiet area, close to the main street and close to a parallel street with nice restaurants - not so noisy ones as on 5th Avenue. On a top roof there is a pool and you don't even need to swim there in order to enjoy a quiet time in the evening with a glass of beer. Our kitchen in a room was lovely equipped. Everything was clean, a lot of nice lights etc. Staff is friendly and helpful. Taxi to the ferry or ADO station costs 130 pesos (April 2024). For a stay in a city centre it is really a good option to recommend.

United KingdomNothing really all very good. The only thing I would say is maybe have a few more pans and utensils to cook with.
Had an amazing time all the staff were very friendly and helpful especially Tali and Eli. The apartment was lovely and close to 5th so easy to go out for food and drinks. The pool on the roof was great to chill out after a long hot day in the sun. It felt very safe and great to have Danny there at night keeping an eye on the place. I would tell all my friends to go to this lovely place.

DenmarkMy wife and I stayed here for 4 weeks, so we have quite a good understanding of this place: - The neigbouring buildings have many dogs that barks a lot. - The noise from the streat gets right though the balcony doors. So you hear the traffic and above mentioned dogs very clearly. Also during the night. Could be problematic if you are a light sleeper. We stayed on 2nd flott. Could be better higher up though. - Cleanliness of amenities. Almost all towels and bedding have stains on them. Clean, but with stains. - The kitchen could be better equipped. There is only the bare minimum of plates, cuddlery and pans.
My wife and I stayed here for 4 weeks, so we have quite a good understanding of this place: Positives: - Zazil-Ha is a great neighbourhood if you want to experience authentic Mexico more than touristic 5. Avenida. - Surrounded by great and affordable food options, both restaurants and food stands. Better and cheaper than 5. Avenida options. - Nice pool area. Even though it is not the biggest there are almost always a couple of sunbeds available. - Spacious rooms with good lightning and comfort in general. - Very comfy beds! - Very friendly and helpfull staff. - There is provided coffee, salt, sugar and olive oil complimentary!

United KingdomWe were put in an adjoining room with the connecting door locked. Unfortunately we had a very loud, obnoxious neighbour who would stay up until 3am most nights. This was not the hotel's fault but the sound proofing was very bad and light also streamed in through gaps in the door. It might be better if there was a heavy curtain covering the connecting door. Also, the room could have been better equipped. There was no kettle or hairdryer and only one pan for cooking. These items could be asked for at reception, but they seem like basics that should come as standard. We stayed for two weeks but only had our room cleaned twice.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with good communication. It was great being able to contact them via WhatsApp. The rooftop pool was a highlight, beautiful views and great for relaxing. Great location - it's close enough to walk to the beach, restaurants and other attractions, but also away from the business of 5th Ave. There's some lovely authentic restaurants right outside the door.

United StatesThings seem a bit worn down, and the apartment could use a proper touch up. You have to pay your stay in advance and put down quite a large cash deposit, but got it all back no issues.
Great location in Playa del Carmen. Close to 5th Avenue, but still far enough away to avoid the noise and partying. The staff is super nice, and there’s a security guard at night to make sure you feel safe. The pool area is nice, though a bit on the smaller size for the amount of people using it. You can’t be sure to get a sun lounger. The rooms are large and super bright. Overall a nice place to stay.

Czech RepublicThe sheets and towels had stains. The bed is light colour so you can see usage on it. Proper cleaning would be good. It’s a bit strange since the property asks for a deposit or your passport in case of staining anything.

Poland- Our room (“Suite superior”) had the worst possible location: ground floor, right in front of the reception and by the main entrance. Since the bed is located very close to the door we would hear noisy guests arriving/leaving the hotel at night and early in the morning. - Because of the room’s location we also didn’t get to enjoy the terrace, since it provides little privacy and the view is not the greatest. - Since it’s more an apartment rental than a hotel we only had 1 cleaning service included during our stay (5 nights) - If someone plans to cook their own meals (we didn’t) the provided kitchen tools might seem a bit too basic. The kitchen had a good size though, with a big fridge, microwave and a coffee machine.
+ The room was very spacious and nicely decorated (quite modern). + Very friendly and helpful staff, whenever we needed something the assistance was almost immediate. + Really nice rooftop terrace with a pool. + Underground garage available. + Room equipped with a washer/dryer (too bad there was not much space to hang stuff to air dry, e.g. beach towels or clothing that does not go in the electric dryer). + Walkable distance to the lively part of Quinta Avenida & to the public beach (Playa 72). Lots of convenience stores, cafes and restaurants around. The direct neighbourhood is rather simple but we felt quite safe during our stay and there was no issue with walking around at night.

CanadaOne thing I would recommend to improve is to replace the cooking equipment, spoons and forks. It’s old and doesn’t look good. Other than that it’s all good for me.
I had an absolutely fantastic experience staying at the Mare Vocational Condo apartment in Playa del Carmen for 8 days. The highlight of my stay was the exceptional service provided by Martina at the front desk. She went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The apartment itself was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities I needed including a washer/dryer which was very helpful if you stayed for long period. The location was perfect, with easy access to the beach (10 min walk) and nearby attractions (5th Avenue is 5 min walk). I would highly recommend this property, and Martina’s outstanding service made it a truly memorable stay. Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

United StatesIt is more north than I like to be, but it was good to explore a different area, especially since I like to stay in the more local areas and as far away from 5th as possible. one dog out back was a nuisance, but that’s a lot of places. we didn’t have an issue with noise from neighbors. When booking, make sure you switch your currency to local MXN peso and pay with cash. If you book with your currency, their conversation rate is bad compared to the actual conversion (adding $15 to my total price) and charged 5% cc fee to use card. Total, this cost me an extra $30, which is 1 nights stay at many hotel options in the area or several meals worth if you eat at local spots or street food. I travel to Mexico often and I understand some places do this. I expect it from smaller places, but it’s just the opposite. Establishments that are larger and charging more should account it as a business expense. I’ve owned a business and paid cc fees, it doesn’t equate to 5%, especially on larger bills. Other things to be aware of: They also hold a large sum of money or your passport and you sign a waiver with the cost you pay of damage belongings (ie towel, sheets, etc)
The room was great for us and the bed was comfortable. large refrigerator, laundry in unit, and smart with Netflix. We didn’t use any, but nice to note. The street cart right outside in the morning is delicious. Just to the left on 45 there is a delicious hole in the wall and street cart option. It is an easy walk to 5th but can be far if you’re trying to get as far as the ferry (but still walkable on a leisurely stroll). The staff was friendly and were helpful to adjust my booking days (charge $10)
