Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United StatesThe first room I was assigned had a roach on the ceiling and the sink was leaking. They did move us into another room but I later noticed that sink was also leaking when I used it. They never fixed the issue. The water in the shower never got hot.

CanadaIs quite out of the way feom everything and when the fish market washes their drains out is can smell of fish quite strongly. We accidentally left a nice shirt behind, contacted the hotel through booking. They said to call the front desk. Front desk does not answer! We lost a 150 dollar shirt, our fault for leaving it but it would h e been nice if they had actually tried to see if they had it rather than get ignored.
It was a quite spot and cheap for oaxaca. Great little morning breakfast at the market behind. Friendly staff in person.

United KingdomThe staff member that greeted us on the door wanted to overcharge us by more than MXN150 and when asked why, he said he “didn’t know”! Be careful when booking and make sure you double check the exact price so they don’t scam you.

The location for me was great. 15 min walking distance to the center. The room was big enough for me and the bathroom was also the right size.

United KingdomBooked this hotel a very long time ago to celebrate Day of the Dead in Oaxaca. Turned up and they told us they weren't taking our booking as they were no longer working with Oyo or Booking.com. Never communicated this to us in advance which left us completely stuck as all the hotels in Oaxaca were sold out on these dates. Really really poor. Don't book.

GermanyOkay, where do I even begin with the mess that is OYO Hotel Mi Casa in Oaxaca Centro? So, we were hoping for a decent place to crash but walked into what can only be described as a scam in disguise. Turns out, the original OYO hotel isn't operational anymore, and now there's this group running this disaster of a place under the same name. Right off the bat, the stench in the rooms hit us like a punch in the face. It was like a mix of mold and despair. The sheets looked like they had seen better days, probably a decade ago, and don’t even get me started on the ventilation – what ventilation? It felt like we were trying to catch some z's in a sauna! The bathroom was a whole other level of gross.The toilet flush decided to go on a permanent vacation, and the showers, oh man, they made us feel like we needed another shower. It’s like dirt was the theme of this place and they were really committed to it. We thought, "no way we're staying here," but when we tried to check out, they played deaf to our refund requests. The manager and the staff treated us like we were the nuisance for expecting basic cleanliness and decency. We had no choice but to kiss our money goodbye and look for another place. Oh, and let’s talk about the sad-looking aquarium and the tiny pool with a bunch of unhappy fish and turtles. It was like they were showcasing their neglect in every nook and cranny of the place. The fish were barely visible in the muddy water and the turtles looked as sad as we felt.

New ZealandWay Over priced, we were staying during gulagetza, so prices were inflated but the price we paid was a bit of stitch up. They even have the audacity to overcharge for water (30peso 1L) Loud generator/ pump switches on at all hours. United StatesPictures give false advertisement. The hotel does not look at all like the pictures. They are renovating but everything is old and dark. They only provide you with a towel and there is an extra cost for extras. Toilet paper is limited too.

RussiaWe arrived at the hotel late in the night and were asked to pay cash at the property. after we saw the condition of the hotel which was totally under construction work and didn't match the photos on the Booking at all we decided to take the money back and cancel the stay. We got our money back but after a few days, I was charged again. I contacted Booking support many times and still didn't get a refund.

CanadaWe reserved a room via booking.com, showed up on time in January 2023 and found the hotel/room uncomfortably dirty, and part of the building having construction/maintenance going on. We requested cancellation and were told that they were okay to cancel. We asked if a cancellation fee was needed, and they said no. We were happy and tipped the guy in reception. Later we found out in booking.com that they marked us as no-show and charged penalties which was more than the room rent itself. We objected and after much back and forth, the case was closed on the hotel's favor. It left an extremely bad taste in my mouth, not only because they charged extra money, but for the manner they lied and wasted my time.

United KingdomIt was a building site, the dust creeping under the door in my room. And the smell of concrete, the noise too!. A water pump (Uber loud) 2 metres away from my door, woke me up at. 4am one morning, at 6 another. The worker's rest day ...peace. Not a bit of it ! An evangelical meeting kicked-off late afternoon, the singalong drove me out into the night. No room in this hotel would have been protected from the onslaught. Nothing could be further from the truth than the idyllic little picture shown on the booking site. Pictures below- bathroom slot is the water pump outside my room and the lobby is the evangelists at work though they are not all shown in the picture.
10 minutes walk from the centre. The hotel and room would have been half decent but for the problems below...
