Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceWe were mostly very happy with the hotel and have little to complain about. The food in the restaurants was really tasty, but extremely expensive. Expect around 80 USD for two for dinner. Even if it is very tasty, we did prefer to eat mostly outside of the hotel (Taquería Los Compas Xcalacoco for example, we ate there most of the times. Just 5 minutes drive from the hotel, super tasty and less than 20 USD for two). The other negative point was the beach. Its super beautiful, but practically impossible to swim in, due to the shallow rocks immediately as you enter the water. But you can walk just a few meters to each side of the hotel and you get perfect swimming conditions, so would definitely not decide against this hotel just because of that.
We stayed for 3 nights in April and thoroughly enjoyed the Mvngata. The best feature of the hotel is the rooftop infinity pool with a fantastic view to the sea. The hotel sells day passes to outside visitors for the rooftop, but reserves the front row of Bali beds and loungers for hotel guests. Even with outside visitors and hotel guests, the rooftop was never too crowded. Only on Sunday evening was there a bit more "movement", but not too much. Speaking about outside visitors, the hotel is well protected and has a closed, guarded gate, made us feel very safe. The room was amazing, even though we had a lower category. It still had a nice partial view of the sea from the balcony. It was well maintained, clean and had more than enough room for two. Bathrobes and swimming towels were provided. Breakfast is a la carte, not buffet style, with a few very good options. The salmon with eggs was especially nice. Generally speaking we would very much recommend the hotel, especially if you are looking for quietness and relaxed luxury.

United StatesAnything that wasn’t perfect is going to feel nit picky. The vibe was peaceful versus spring break so keep that in mind depending on what you’re looking for.
Top notch food quality and variety. Cocktails were fantastic. Beach club was great but the rooftop infinity pool by the restaurant was the best part. Mar 11-15 was a fairly quiet time to be there, no parties or unruly guests and great for peace. If you’re looking for the “spring break” party vibe you’ll likely have to travel into PDC or another venue. The rooms are massive with large showers and plenty of space to unpack. Tastefully decorated. Large patio with the hammock and chairs were a great touch.

United StatesThe pool closes rather early at 7pm which was a little bit of a bummer. I didn’t have a chance to take a dip in, but I did make it up to sit pool side a couple of times and the view is SPECTACULAR! The hotel is not conveniently located near 5th avenue. It was not a bummer for us, but if you’re looking to spend most of your time in the central area be prepared to pay about $50 USD (round trip) in taxi costs to travel the 6km there.
Beautifully designed hotel with luxuriously comforting rooms. Security is amazing and very thorough from the moment of arrival, we had no safety concerns. The staff is excellent and very hospitable. If you’re looking for a getaway, this is it.

United StatesThe hotel e-mailed a questionnaire ahead of the stay , so they should have known I was traveling with my 20 year old daughter. But the sofa-bed was not made up for her when we arrived. This issue was quickly resolved. The mattress on the main bed was very comfortable, but the comforter on the bed was too warm for me. A different selections of blankets would have been nice. To be fair, I never raised this issue with staff. I got sand in my shoes. ; > )
Dining at the two restaurants was exceptional from the quality of the food to the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. The view from the rooftop restaurant was stunning. Temp control in the room and in the exercise facility was excellent. Cleanliness of the entire facility was exemplary. Daily room make was perfect. Security was also very good, with 24 hour manned gate into the hotel and parking. The coffee maker (espresso) was the best. Bottled water was provided daily. The mini-fridge was stocked and restocked with several brands of beer and soft drinks. Requests for room service (fresh towels, more coffee, etc.) were carried out with amazing alacrity. The walk-in shower was roomy with overhead showerhead and lots of hot water. Even when fully booked, the hotel never seemed crowded.

United StatesRight on the beach … but can’t swim from there because of rocks and urchins. Need to walk a few meters to parts where one can get into the sea (not too horrible though). Food was sometimes ambitious but not always great and quite pricey. Music choices especially on the roof sometimes annoying (would benefit from less music or more chill vibes).
Very large, comfy and well appointed rooms. Situated in a quieter part of PdC although still surrounded by other hotels. Nice beach set-up, and lovely views from rooftop bar/restaurant and pool. attentive staff.

United StatesWe didn’t love the rooftop restaurant menu, expensive and they are trying too hard to have interesting, odd dishes. Bugs!
Beautiful rooms on a beautiful beach. The food downstairs and at the beach was very good. It was a nice touch to bring a treat to our room on the evening of our first night. Room service was great. Management and staff was great.

SwitzerlandThe beach in front of the Hotel isn‘t super clean and to swim in it you need to walk a bit further down the beach but this is due to the stones and therefore nothing they can change. We didn’t like the breakfast system that much but food was good. I think we therefore would have prefered having a buffet. Some of the staff in the restaurant and beach club worked very slow or at least with us. I noticed that some solo white men got attended much faster than we sometimes did, even if they arrived afters us. We as black and mixed race latinos notice does kind of things and wondered if there were some other guests being favoured. There is not much around the Hotel besides other Hotels and to get into the city it takes around 15-20min, which is just important to be aware of.
We felt immediately very welcome. The bedroom was clean and prepared for the three of us which was great. I liked the nespresso machine in the room and the good size of the bedroom. The staff at the lobby Kinbe and everyone else also such as Karla from the restaurant were exceptional. Extremly friendly and helpful! The communication on whatsapp is also a big plus and a super useful tool. The ladies of the spa were also very friendly.

United KingdomCould not recommend this place enough. We had the panoramic seafront room. It was enormous with stunning views not just of the sea but also the surrounding trees. It came with a very large balcony and outdoor jacuzzi. Breakfast every morning was delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and the cocktails kept on coming. In a very nice touch, there was a bottle of sparkling wine and some fresh fruit waiting in the room after we had checked out.

United StatesThe review is based on my stay October 2023:- The room: my room was oceanfront with bath tab, the view was amazing, the room itself is spacious and well decorated. The hotel: it's not a big hotel so there is not alot of guests, sometimes, it's quite like you have the hotel all for yourself. The beach: the beach area and the pool aren't so big like other large resorts but since the hotel itself is not too big, I have seen individual alone at pool so it's really nice place. The breakfast: the breakfast was from a menu (not buffet) , I tried different main courses throughout my stay and they were all delicious. The staff: the hotel staff ( the doorman, receptionist, room service and restaurant staff) are very kind, polite and friendly. The hotel location: very safe, the location was perfect for me (I had a car) it was central for all the places I wanted to visit. Not in the city and it's very quiet (perfect for me), although the hotel is far from the city, I have seen many taxis near the hotels so I don't think you will find a problem in finding a taxi. Honestly, if I visited the area, I would choose staying at the hotel again
