We were on the ground floor, and it could be a bit noisy with people coming in late at night. Also, although the bed was clean, and they didn't skimp on pillows, it wasn't the most comfortable mattress. That said, for the price (and considering the location), this was the perfect choice for us.

The staff were very helpful and very friendly (and willing to work with tourists who didn't know the city and didn't know the language to help us with some of the logistics of the trip like going back to the airport). Also, the place is IMPECCABLY clean. Spotless, in fact. And the location is PERFECT. It is just on the edge of the city center, so it is very walkable to everywhere we wanted to go, but not on the busiest street.

Street traffic was loud in our room. A bit dark as there was only one window.

Location, great staff, very clean and great price.

Cons: 1. Bad location; the hotel is in front of a major street with bus stops and heavy traffic (lots of cars drive by). 2. NEVER take a triple room (3 single beds), it is the only room facing the street as mentioned above. It does not matter you are heavy or light sleeper, you will be waking up all night long. We timed it: the traffic died down at 12:18 AM and started again at 4:47 AM - that means you only have ~4 hours of sleep. 3. They moved us to the interior rooms the next day with smaller rooms and charged excessive $40 more per room each night. The inside rooms are better but the bathrooms are extremely small; whenever you open the bath door, it always hit the vanity sink. 4. No breakfast service available at this property. However, there are several restaurants around the corners. Also, there is a breakfast buffet restaurant only $80 Pesos (~5 USD) per person as of 12/18/23 which is very good deal. 5. None of them speaking English at the front desk so you need Google translator app.

Pros: 1. Very clean room and hot water for shower available all the time. 2. Drinking water and coffee provided at the front desk 24 hours. Also, 2 bottles of water provided daily in your room. 3. 4 blocks of walking distance to the main square where the cathedral is located. 4. All rooms have air conditioning (we did not test it because it is winter time in December). 5. A mini-van (Colectivos) 7 or 12 passengers taking you to Monte Alban (Pyramids) less than 20 minutes for $50 Pesos (~$3 USD) per person one-way and these mini-vans located in the central, 1 1/2 blocks from the church (ask around as we do not remember the street name). Taxi costs $250 Pesos (~$15 USD) for 3 or 4 people from your hotel or central location. 6. Taxi costs $50 Pesos (~$3 USD) per person going to Mitla attraction.

There was no safe in the room, and the shower took a while to warm up. The bathroom was a bit cramped, to use the sink you have to close the bathroom door because it opens right into the sink. I was on the ground floor and it was a bit noisy to the street (although fine once it was past 11pm/midnight so sleeping was okay)

The hotel is quite centrally located and it was easy to access the town centre. It was also not a far walk (although quite uphill) to the Mirador de Oaxaca, which gives great views of the whole city. The bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

My room was located across from a shared bathroom and so the night was very noisy. I used ear plugs and it was okay ... the only ambient light to the room comes from the glass on the room door which leads to the center courtyard so be mindful to set an alarm.

Friendly reception and simple check out. There was a water station too :)

The staff seemed to be not on our side from the very beginning. We were told one check in time and it went over by an hour - we’d arrived at 6 in the morning and we couldn’t get in until 4pm! The staff also tried to charge us for a little bit of makeup on our towel which they hadn’t even tried to wash off - we then handwashed it ourselves and it immediately came off. This was a joke

There was nothing really to complain about. We were four guests staying in a suite, so we did have to request for additional towels and toilet paper. Really nothing serious given how economical our stay was, and how friendly and helpful the staff was.

The location was excellent. Most major sites were within walking distance. The staff was very friendly, and they booked us guided tours. The hotel was very clean, simple, but elegant. Decorations were tastefully done.

My daughter and I loved staying here -- the owner was incredibly helpful and polite, and the staff responded to my requests not to change our sheets and towels every day (which shouldn't be a thing anyway!). The rooftop terrace was the primary feature for us and it was lovely (though it could use more plants!). The location is great, only a couple of blocks away from the main street and the zocalo. Don't miss the Cafe Anhelo 2 blocks up the street, offering organic coffee and local art and handmade books.
