Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Ukrainewe got a room right next to the reception. SUPER noisy, shall windows, stuffy air. the hotel is big and there were many free rooms, such a shame to the stuff that we got this terrible room. even tho on booking there’s a breakfast option, it’s actually a cafe nearby, not part of the hotel. the room is shabby and old. absolutely terrible experience!
location is good

United StatesThe “Go home gringo” graffiti just outside main entrance of the hotel. Use of free bicycles were advertised and I had given staff a message long before our stay that we were interested in using them but they had flat tires. They did have them fixed but not until the last day of our 5 day trip stay so we had made other plans when we recognized it was happening anytime soon.
Location was great and within walking distance to main plaza. Safe area to walk and close to restaurants and shopping.

United StatesThis was the third time I have stayed at this hotel, and I absolutely love it. The location couldn't be better. The space is open and colorful, with a gorgeous rooftop area with a view of the city where you can read or work. The staff is very friendly and the rooms were kept quite clean. I will keep coming back here as long as they are around.

United StatesPillows are too thick and too hard - hurt my neck. Used a bath towel as a pillow instead.
This family-run posada is charming with quiet courtyards filled with brilliant bougainvilla flowers. Our quadruple room was quite large and comfortable. We appreciated the shared kitchen with a mini-fridge where we could store granola, milk, leftovers, etc. There's a breezy terrace at the top of the building with a view of the city. Very close to the main zocalo in a safe area. Would definitely stay there again.

United StatesThe hotel lacked a number of amenities that American travelers expect and take for granted. For example, the room had one hand towel and two body towels, but no washcloths. I ended up using the hand towel for my washcloth. In addition, the room had no facial tissue and due to the poor plumbing infrastructure, toilet paper could not be flushed. This is somewhat common throughout Mexico, so I don't consider it a deal breaker. However, some hotels have better plumbing than others. So, if this is important to you, you will want to stay elsewhere.
The staff is very friendly and kind. The room was thoroughly cleaned each day which, in this day and age, is a plus. The king size bed was comfy and provided a good night's sleep. For an old, boutique-style, small hotel, and all things considered, it is well maintained. The location is good and within walking distance (or a short cab ride) of the many popular Oaxaca attractions and destinations. Lastly, it is a good value proposition if you are looking for a decent place to stay on a budget.

United StatesThe common areas of this property are really beautiful—the traditional courtyards are colorful and cozy. The location is great—it’s on a local street, but is just minutes from the historical town center and several great markets. Rooms are typical for this price range in Mexico. They are clean, well maintained, and a good size.

United StatesThe smell coming out of the sewer grid in the bathroom. but that smell was present also in some areas of the city. It appears as if the floor sewer grid lacks a "trap" (water seal) common in the USA and Europe. We placed a plastic mat to stop it.
The personal attention by the staff. They were so much helpful in making our stay even more memorable as they were aware that what we needed was a home base from which explore the city.
