Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesExcept for my room, the hotel isn't air conditioned, which is a shame because it was too uncomfortably hot to spend any time admiring the hotel's beautiful structure and tiles. (This may not be unusual for hotels in this city.)
The staff members were very helpful. The air conditioning in the room was excellent -- very important in Merida! The hotel is beautiful and very well located a couple of blocks off the central plaza. Breakfast is available and was good. The cost for my stay was as expected. The hotel lives up to its description. Clean water was provided. My second floor room was great. The staff immediately fixed my shower-head when it wasn't working well. The concierge secured a taxi for my 4:30 a.m. ride back to the airport. Great city and the international airport meant a non-stop from DFW.

United StatesReally good location, close to everything. They were kind enough to give me the corner room with a huge ceiling and little balcony. Good stay, they constantly asked me to me if I wanted my room cleaned, helpful when I locked myself out of the room. They have breakfast available every morning although I didn't eat there.

Good location in city centre, even though its near a pretty big bar it was quiet since rooms are pretty far back. Good bed.

United StatesMy actual room was just OK (no exterior window), my room was kind of hard to find and the water pressure was not very good in the shower. AC not super powerful (it was October, HOT outside), but OK. These took off one star for me. I did check in late and probably got the last available room.
Fantastic location, and very neat hotel architecturally - colonial style with courtyard, tile floors, neat details. EXCELLENT VALUE - there are no private rooms in this very central, cool area near the price I paid. Bed comfy and toiletries provided and staff very helpful. I would stay again.

CanadaHotel looks a bit run down, could use a little more TLC. The windows in the room are old, they don't keep out the noise (mainly from the pool area) nor the heat. Our shower head leaked so the water pressure felt low. Also, they didn't have any hand towels, which is weird for a 3-star hotel.
The location is perfect, staff is nice, and WiFi works great. A/C unit keeps the room cool. Bathroom is clean. I also appreciated the complementary water bottles and filtrated water fountains. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice.

GermanyThere was a lot of traffic, when we arrived by car, so it is helpful to know that parking for the hotel is right across the street from the entrance. The floor in our room was very dusty, the sheets and towells were clean, though. Our room didn't have a closed ceiling but a shared tin roof with the adjacent rooms. So you hear your neigbours talking and snoring like you are literally in the same room. The pool didn't look inviting at all, the water was rather cloudy.
Right in the heart of Mérida. You are in the city centre as you step outside the door, so it is perfect for getting to know the city and the nightlife. The house itself is a beautiful old fashioned colonial style building. WiFi and AC were working fine. 24/7 reception. We didn't eat at the hotel, because there are plenty of options around for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Parking is right across the street from the hotel entrance and the price was 50 MXN per night as indicated. You can just pull in there, tell them, that you are staying at the Reforma and they give you a slip to sign at the reception for exiting.
