Having soap and proper towels and toilet paper in the bathrooms would be a great start. Zipped mattress covers to protect beds and guests would be great. Maybe sort out the nests of electrical wires, for safety. The bedroom door was difficult to lock and unlock, which could be problematic during an earthquake (not uncommon) or fire (again, that nest of electric wires).

The location is excellent. The staff person on duty was wonderful, kind and helpful, even as I arrived after midnight. I had a spacious, private room with a nice view, shaded by leafy trees. The kitchen offers great potential. This place could be great with a few little changes.

Staff doesn't smiles too much. The place vibes are cold. I also proposed them to extend my booking with a direct price (to allow them avoid the Booking fees), but they didn't offered a cheaper price, but much more expensive. Completely nonsense for any hostel. But it didn't ruined my experience.

The wifi was HORRIBLE the bathrooms were the worst I'd ever seen - no toilet paper, dirty, wet, often hadn't been flushed it is noisy the staff wanted to me trek across CDMX and pay them cash and then weren't going to give me a receipt until I requested that they acknowledged the cash I'd given them.

I paid more then it’s were in booking. Noise, no one marked rule about no noise after 11pm, and for visitors it’s normal watching videos loudly even at 01 pm Shower and toilet it’s 1 room (and it’s looks really bad) No space free space, only kitchen, toilets and beds. Really hot inside even in November, can’t imagine what hell would be between March-August.

The kitchen is nowhere near set up for a hostel. No microwave, no kettle, no water provided, no essentials provided like salt, pepper, oil etc. No tea or coffee provided. No hot water. The stove is barely capable of frying an egg let alone boiling water for tea. There isn't an area identified for things that people leave for others to use. The rooms don't have air conditioning or a fan, not even the dorms with 6 people in them. The doors are not blocked out so, to compensate for the see through doors, they put curtains on the inside of the door. Every time you open the door, it catches the curtains. It is very annoying. Either change the swing of the door, block out the full door or, put the curtains on the outside of the door. The design is very industrial so, noise carries everywhere throughout the building, everywhere! There are not enough bathrooms for the amount of people. Often, there are people waiting outside the 3 bathroom doors. One of the problems is that they don't separate the showers from the toilet areas. If someone is taking a 20 minute shower, other guests can't use the toilets. Overall, the design is not great for the volume & types of travellers they will encounter. A few tweeks would make it a much better place to stay. I'm a full time traveller with 9 years experience. These design flaws can be super annoying...especially the kitchen not being set up when you open.

Door wasnt working, WIFI wasnt working either, and seemed like there are people who LIVE at this property, and they left their stuffs everywhere in this property, the water pressure was very weak in shower room, didnt get a towel. We ended up leaving the hostel 3 days early because we couldn’t put up with it any longer, see reasons below. At reception we asked to check out, the receptionist took the room key and didn’t say anything. We waited for a few minutes and ended up having to remind him for our deposit back, which is unacceptable. Don’t ask for a deposit if you aren’t willing to return it! For two of the days we were there there was no running water for around 12 hours, we were not told by the hostel that the water would be shut off and the water turned off mid shower. All of the toilets were full of other peoples excrement because we couldn’t use the flush. No attempt to inform the guests of the water situation and they did not try to provide any solutions. Hostel staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Rubbish WiFi. People staying at the hostel had no respect for other guests. Music, videos and phone calls were constantly happening at full volume from around 8am til past 1am every single day. Not sure if there is a noise curfew here but if there is it wasn’t respected. It smelled like some guests were smoking inside their rooms on our floor too, disgusting. Felt like we couldn’t leave our room because of the loud people. The room feels like a prison. The only window faces the hallway so there’s no fresh air. There’s no fan or ac so the hostel gets very hot. The door to your room is made out of glass so you can see straight in. There is a curtain that you can pull across the door. Stupid design. Stupid hostel. Rubbish facilities, very few toilet/ showers so always had to wait to use them. The kitchen was so basic with barely any plates, bowls and pans to accommodate the number of guests. Will never stay here again. So disappointed with the stay.

Not worth the money, you can find better at Airbnb in the same area. The room was not as per the photos on the internet. It was only a bed encased between 4 walls, no room to walk around, it was really hot inside and noisy because of the kitchen and the other folks in the hostel.

Staff needs a little bit of understanding. Lights comes to the room during the night and we were made to leave the door open. Also they make you leave the common areas after 12:00pm or else pay$ 120 to stay sitting even in the common areas. First time this happend to me in a hostel

One day I told the administrator that the toilets had run out of toilet paper, he told me that there would be toilet paper tomorrow :)) And one evening I sat in the common area, the administrator came up to me and said that now you can’t sit in the common area , I can only be in my room. I felt like I was in prison, to which the administrator replied, “Sorry, those are the rules.” I won't come to this hostel again.

The treatment

Avoid this place at all costs. I booked through Booking.com over a month in advance and ever since, received a message from the property requesting payment but never given the link. They did not reply to my message asking for more details neither about the confirmation given by the app. I arrived today from the airport and they refused the service even though they had beds available. I consider this extremely uncomfortable and unconsidered situation given the fact that I spent time and money booking the place and in transportation.

There was no water for the shower(1day) and toilets (2days) i fall in sleep around 10 am and they woke me up for check out at 12:15, the front desk girl reported me at Roomies office , she didn't told me about it and when i went to the other roomies hostel at Cibeles they told me i have to pay a multa for 15 minutes overstay and could not check in at Roomies cibeles. These ladies who working at Roomies do not care about the travellers and are not helping. They like to give you problems and abuse the travellers. The night schift guy at Roomies reforma is a cool and helpfull guy.
