Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIn the morning it's hard to sleep in because of the noisy street it's located on. The outside door doesn't close fully which makes for 0 isolation, you can hear every little sound on the street and so many cars pass by and start honking as early as 7 in the morning.
It's super centrally located. Everything you want to see or need is within 5-10 minutes walking. Very nice atmosphere and pretty rooms. Staff was also very friendly.

United KingdomWasn’t very social. Rooftop was not used in a sociable way, or in any way at all besides breakfast and welcome drinks which is a shame as it’s such a lovely space. The breakfast staff spoke little/no English, and could not understand my Spanglish which made ordering every morning pretty difficult. They also always ran out of orange juice in the morning which was the only juice available.
Aesthetically, beautiful! Lobby and view from lobby was lovely. Private room was super spacious and clean! Good breakfast options. Great location.. few minutes walk to the centre. Yoga on the rooftop was good except the teacher arrived late twice and did not apologise either time.

United StatesThe bed was terrible. Literally sleeping on a board. We paid extra to have a private room and bathroom...which was nice. But we did not expect to have noise issues. Yes, I know we are traveling to a country that is happy and lively and there will be music playing everywhere... but the issue is more of a not a single measure taken to noise proof the window. Other than the terrible bed and the terrible window... the room was good.
Loved the location. Awesome for walking everywhere. It's a cool vibe place. Convenient bar next door (part of the Hostel) Awesome saff! Super helpful. Mostly the location was super.

SwitzerlandMy room was next to the street and it was a bit noisy during the night. It’s not really a sociable place if you would like to meet people. The rooftop bar was closed during my stay and the restaurant / bar as well for the first night and the other nights really empty.
I had a nice stay at Selina’s. I had a room for myself with own bathroom, which was really clean and they cleaned it every day. The room was spacious and with a little balcony. The location is perfect! There are many restaurants, bars and everything you need just nearby.

United StatesI think it is a little expensive for what you get. Should include breakfast or towels at least.
The coworking space was really nice and the WiFi was strong. I stayed in both the mixed dorm and the female dorm and the female one was a lot cleaner and nicer than the mixed dorm.

United Kingdomthe room was so,so a little over cluttered and small. I saw another room on the same floor same price and it was bigger and better planed with furniture. unfortunately at 1am something was making an awful noise outside some sort of pump and I had to go to reception they did come and turn the noise of quickly - but this noise was there again later in our stay during the day.
good location, friendly amazing staff. it has a nice calm vibe. it’s modern in its out look.

United States-Because it’s centrally located, there is TONS of noise from the street! It’s impossible to sleep before 11pm or 12am. My room was located right on the street and had a small balcony, so it felt like I didn’t have any balcony doors at all, as of the noise was happening inside of my room. -No elevators -No hair dryer or iron in room -Cold water pressure in sink was nonexistent. If I turned the sink to cold, the water just didn’t come out at all. -Hand soap dispenser on bottle didn’t work. I tried removing the cap to fix it but I couldn’t fix it. So then I pulled the body soap out of the shower in order to use that as hand soap, and I pulled someone’s hair with the bottle. At this point, I had not even taken shower. Also, I am African-American and the hair on the bottle was long & straight. So it was impossible that it was my hair. Anyway, that dispenser also didn’t work. So I hope that staff can do a better job at cleaning the bottles in the rooms and also checking to make sure if they actually dispense properly. -The food in the restaurant was just okay. I don’t usually eat at restaurants inside of hotels. I’ve worked at a couple of hotels myself and the food is never that impressive. But I didn’t feel like walking around in search of a restaurant that could accommodate my diet (vegetarian) and the diet of my friend (normal diet). I knew that Selina’s restaurant has veggie options. I ordered the Tlayuda vegetariana and it was just okay. I had already had a veggie Tlayuda from a different restaurant in town and it was much more flavorful. -Lastly, I think the “don’t flush toilet paper” sign in the room that I was assigned to is horribly placed. It should be directly next to the toilet, where the toilet paper holder would be. I didn’t see the sign until I had already put toilet paper in the toilet.
-Great location -Friendly and English speaking staff -I really like the wristband as a key

NetherlandsOur room didn’t have a proper window to the outside, so it felt a little claustrophobic. Next time we would go for a bit more expensive option with natural light.

SwitzerlandWhile it was ok for the price, the room definitely doesn't look like in the pictures (womans dorm). It is pretty dark and had some water leaking into the room from the shower. The staff was super kind but they didn't give me any information about what was going on at Selinas and which tour they offer (even though I asked about somehting specifix and speak spanish). There was some really loud music blasting every day, but luckily, it stops at 11 pm.
The central location is perfect to explore the city, you are in walking distance to many, many restaurants and some points of interest in the city. The breakfast that was included in my booking was very good and I loved that they offer yoga classes on their rooftop from Mo-Fr ! The staff was very kind and helpful too. Their restaurant is very good and I liked that they offer a coworking space.

United Stateswhile the amenities are great and the place pretty, it does have a somewhat “corporate” feel compared with other hostels and hotels. it doesn’t necessarily have the authentic Oaxacan aesthetic that you might see elsewhere. sometimes there is nobody working at the cafe and I’d have to walk away to go find coffee.
perfect location in the heart of centro, just a couple blocks away from the main square and cathedral. staff is helpful when need be and can give suggestions and recommendations. great working space for those who need to connect to internet and work away in their work room.
