Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe walk to town is a bit far, about 15 minutes or so and includes a fair amount of stairs since the hotel is pretty high up the hillside. Not too far for some, but with kids it made getting to town daily a bit harder. Staff will quickly call a cab and get one for you within ten minutes (except one time no one seemed to be around and so we walked) and they take you to town and back from town for around 100mxn and there's also a bus that comes by for much cheaper. Probably the thing I liked least was that there was not a grocery store you can walk to. Cab was a lot more money to get to the store to stock up. So if you forgot something or needed a thing or two you were basically out of luck. Also I think mexico has gotten a lot more expensive in the last few years. The hotel itself was a great value. You get more than you pay for. But man the grocery store.. Cost more than what things cost in Canada. A case of cokes cost double what we pay here. However that is nothing to do with the hotel, which was amazing. The other issue was the hot tub/soaker tub, although lovely, has a safety issue in that one side is butted up against the end of the balcony. Four floors up, this means if you look off the side of the hot tub there's a tiny ledge and a four floor drop. That freaked us out and we wouldn't let the kids in there on their own, and wouldn't let them close to that side when we were with them.
This was an incredible place. Very clean and comfortable, we had room 11 on the top floor with the private soaker tub. Absolutely amazing view of the whole town, Bay, and ocean. We were gobsmacked when we arrived. We loved the pool and spent a lot of time there. When we were there we almost always had the pool to ourselves and the other guests were always quiet and chill. Very comfy place. At night the view of the lights of town is just gorgeous. We did a night swim almost every night and the pool makes you feel like you're floating over the town. Watching the sunrise every morning was amazing as well. Very comfy beds. Great a/c. WiFi was good in half the room, wouldn't work in our bedroom. Tv was great when we needed it. Really lovely place.

United StatesAll good - big set of steps up and down to town - not for everyone. Handy mini bus comes often for easy transport. No bar or on site restaurant but I did not go hungry or thirsty!
Nice views of the bay from hilltop location! Quiet location - fun walk to town! Family restaurant near by - Bodega too!

MexicoNot much we didn’t like, the drying rack in kitchen should be replaced, the shower drain should be checked, didn’t drain well, kitchen tap was dripping!
We were a bit apprehensive when we booked as many of the booking sites rated it as 2 or 3, we were pleasantly surprised how clean our unit was, the view is fantastic and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We often had the pool to ourselves. They provided water for the stand. Great spot but lots of stairs for those with mobility issues.

United StatesPool was drained and out of order for cleaning 2-3 days. Not heated so cool when refilled. Combos quit at 7:00 pm so missed the early evening activity and walking at Principle Beach. Can’t walk up hill to get there at night, too dark and secluded. During day only way up to hotel walking is using 112 step stairway that is quite steep.
Views were great! Staff very kind.

United StatesWe were very happy with our stay. Breakfast or a bar on sight would have been nice.
We enjoyed the private jacuzzi and view so much. Comfortable beds and towels were nice. Fresh water dispenser was nice to have and restocked often. We had no problem with the 4 flights of stairs to our room (plus the climb from the road). Might not work for some.
