It’s not a bungalow as far as I’m concerned. It’s an apartment with a kitchenette. The room was boiling hot and the ceiling fan did nothing. I asked for an electric fan which they happily provided me. It helped a bit but was super noisy. Also, there were no curtains over the back door so a lot of light came in, in the morning. Sadly I didn’t sleep at all well because of the heat/light. The location is uphill from town so just be aware of that. I would have liked a kettle on the room.

The staff were great and the beds/bedding was amazing. I loved the washing line out the back.

Definitely didn’t seem like a hostel where you meet other travelers.

Cute and very clean little hostel. Friendly staff members. I felt safe as there was always someone around at the reception when I stayed there. And it was very quiet (I barely even saw other guests). The neighborhood is within walking distance of the main points of interest in town.

Lovely little property with very friendly staff. Simple but everything we needed and a good shower and mattress. Felt very safe, got good recommendations from the staff, lovely little puppy trotting around, great views from the roof, short walk from the centre and the white tent on top of the hill.

I had a great stay at Yabanhi Hostel. Victor was especially helpful, the information about Oaxaca that I got from him was valuable, I used his recommendations to plan many of my days. The room was comfortable, clean and centrally located, and the rooftop patio is perfect for viewing the city, sunrises and sunsets.

Hard to escape the noise of the city if you are staying close to the center, so be aware that there may be noise coming from the center especially if you are staying there during the weekend.

The hostel was very clean and quiet (which is quite nice given other places we have stayed in Mexico). The hostel is a short walk from the main Zocalo, approx. 10 - 15 minutes (depending how fast / slow you walk). The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a fan but no air conditioner. The position of the light and the fan created a bit of a disco vibe in the room. The bathroom was clean but there was not a lot of storage for toiletries. There was a clothesline to hang clothes located in the shower. The staff were very friendly and communicated well prior to our stay letting us know when our room was ready. Staff were also able to arrange a taxi back to the airport for us instead of the shuttle (which more expensive). The rooftop was nice and had a great view of Oaxaca.

The kitchen equipment (dishes, knives , pots) are a bit old and not very practical if you want to cook a lot.

The rooftop is just mind blowing and for myself I like when the hostel is not in the most crowded areas, you can easily reach everything within 5mins walking distance. Everything was super clean and well situated. The personal is also super helpful and focused on service! Will definitely come back!

Not really a hostel vibe, not easy to meet people here. Feels more like some kind of motel.

The amazing roofterrace! Insane view over Oaxaca. Perfect with a beer (which can be bought at the reception) late afternoon. Also the staff is super friendly.

The room was getting really stuffy during the day. I wish there was a better ventilation. Sadly, there weren't shared showers in the hostel, which would have been really helpul for a late departure from the city.

The room was great, spacious and clean with a great kitchen area. The staff were really nice. The terrace was outstanding and it's worth being located a bit further away from the centre in exchange for the view.

If you are looking to meet other people this might not be your best bet.

Quiet place, nice rooftop terrace and helpfull staff. Everything worked well and they offer also good tours. They don’t offer breakfast but just two blocks away there is a very nice bakery and cafe (which you will find on google maps as cafe Oaxaca) which opens at 7.30 AM

The light was behind the ceiling fan causing a strobe! A bit clinical. The kitchen was fine but a bit lacking in cooking basics.

The hostel is one of the most immaculate facilities we have stayed in. It is a brilliant location, very close to town. The views from the roof top to the mountains, and over the city are amazing. All of the staff were friendly and helpful in every aspect of our stay.

The only negatives where that there was no air-con. Only a fan. Which the cleaning team kept turning off during the day, meaning that when we returned after a days activities, the room was very hot again, and the bed was a bit small. I move a lot in my sleep especially when it is warm, so this was annoying for my partner.

The accommodation is amazing with a great roof terrace perfect for morning yoga and a coffee with views. We loved the location too, slightly out of town means that it is quiet at night and peaceful in the morning. It literally a 10 minute stroll into the busy part of town.
