Transparent shower can be a bit awkward if you're travelling with friends. Also, there's a short walk up several flights of stairs, which can be a problem for people with disabilities or those carrying lots of luggage.

Clean beyond expectations, and amazingly helpful and communicative staff. Easy to find as long as you read the directions provided. Location is great, within walking distance to many mini markets, food stalls, and great restaurants. The owners and staff clearly put a lot of thought into this place. Beyond the basic amenities, they also provided a hairdryer with various attachments (including a diffuser!), and a scale to weight your luggage, which was very useful for us. Would definitely recommend A Residence to any friends and family planning to visit Kota Kinabalu.

The room is so beautiful, cozy and spacious. Small fridge, kettle, toiletaries, hair dryer etc all provided in the room. Located in the city center near to Pasar Philippines (walking distance). The host is very friendly and accommodating, I have no complaints whatsoever. Totally satisfied.

Through no fault of their own, every perk has its downsides. Being in a good location means noise at night, from the pub downstairs. Could hear the bass. The stairs going up could use a little mopping and cleaning. One of the handles bedside table had it falling off.

Location was good. Convenience stores, restaurants, cafes and eating places nearby. Parking provided. Room was great, clean. The admin was attentive. Made sure all was good. For the price and value was really outstanding

location of the place is out of Gaya street and in Asia city (behind Hilton hotel and Cititel express). Dodgy at night but during the day is fine. Careful when going up the staircase (yes, no lift) as it is dark at the first landing.

Something difficult to find because there is no sign board if you're standing between Cititel Hotel and Hilton Hotel.

A Residence was in a wise location and it' was really cheap and gave the value of your stay. Clean and modern inside. They assist us right away. .

The hotel area looks kinda sketchy and we had to go up through the stairs but once we got in our room, it's like a whole different place! The room is really as per shown in the pictures. However, some maintenance needs to be done as the aircond situated on top of our bed may be leaking inside the wall or something and there are also some mold stains behind it which causes our pillows to get really wet underneath but we didn't really mind it as we are only staying for the night so we just switch sides and the comfort of the room compensates for that small issue. Other than that, all good!

The owner and staff is very helpful, extra friendly, gave us prompt reply and accommodated all our requests. The location is great, easy to find and in the middle of everywhere. The room also looks modern, very comfortable and high tech. The room really gave us that 5-star hotel vibe and definitely a "don't judge a book by it's cover" kind of place. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

Just personal preference, I would prefer hotel to provide a soft & hard pillow so we can try which is suitable to sleep on. (Both are soft ones for me)

The room condition is like totally brand new & the host really put in effort to provide their best in all possible aspects, as someone who travelled often I really appreciated it!

Everything. The interior design, the comfy bed, the high tech items, the friendly host :) But bear in mind that the room is suitable for couple or solo traveller bcuz of the transparent shower door (and just a bit exercise cuz it's @ 2nd floor)
