How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room is super clean, and the bed was comfortable. I also like that they provide a power bank, and even different hair dryer attachments. Really worth my money!

Modern and beautifully presented with little extras such as a battery pack and electronic curtains/lights. Staff were superb and messaged you via whatsapp to make sure you had everything you needed. Excellent location close to shops, the waterfront and the jetty to get over to the islands. Would definitely recommend for a short stay!

It would be better if the shower room had a curtain or used a frosted glass door for privacy
the bed was super comfy, and i love the separate shower room and toilet. There are eateries nearby which were convenient for dinner and lunch..

You could tell that it was a little old, the shower head was a little bit spoilt but thankfully there was the rain shower option.
The location of the place was good. Service was good, it was our bad that we didn't realise all the shower rooms had transparent glass doors, but the host kindly helped us cover the door with towels.

Perfect location I stayed in the AJ Residence and also the AC Residence, both in the same area, identical rooms and comfort. Very confortable and nicely decorated room. I appreciated the fridge, the electric rolling shutter with remote control, the modern lighting with sensitive switchers. And above all: the most proactive and responsive communication with a residence’s manager I’ve ever had. Really worth the price.

Fantastic comfort in Kota Kinabalu! The host is very communicative, helping you with absolutely anything you need every step of the way. Bed is comfortable and the location can't be beat!. Will definitely return here if.we are ever in Kota Kinabalu again. Side note about KK: this city surprised me with it's modernity and beauty. Wish we would have stayed longer.

It is on the second floor of the building and the initial bag carrying was quite hard but they did offer assustance if required, so this is only a minor point
Firstly the host was so attentive. Each day, making sure, via whats app, that everything was OK and even suggesting things to do around the area. The room was modern and very clean . Touch lighting, electric blind and a fully lit bathroom mirror. Even a mobile phone battery pack was supplied for use during our stay. The air conditioning was very good and it had the best WiFi we have had on our travels The room was a little smaller than we had been used to but we easily managed our way around that. The location is excellent with plenty of restaurants around the area. I would recommend this accommodation.

Finding parking during day time (weekdays) is not easy. Beware of private parking on the back of the hotel. They are not free.
Location is great. Food stalls are down the street. If you like grilled fish, this is a place to go. Parking at night is easily available and free. Hotel provides coupons for parking.
