Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeIt was raining when we arrived, we got wet getting from the car to hotel entrance.
Best location. High quality furnishings, bed linen and towels. Well designed space with delightfully thoughtful details and beautiful art pieces adorning the walls in the room. Breakfast was simple but well executed. Debbie is a wonderful hostess that makes the stay a memorable one.

SingaporeMade the decision to book Bedrock Hotel for our recent 4D3N stay on account of the excellent online reviews, and I must say that we were not disappointed. Bedrock may be a small hotel, but what it lacks in amenities of big hotels (eg. Pool, gym), is more than made up for by its excellent location, clean and comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The hotel is located within walking distance from both the new and old towns of Ipoh, and all the fantastic food on offer. Skip the hotel breakfast and try the local fare which are all located within a short hop from the hotel. For dinner, the charcoal fired claypot Lou Shu Fen at Restoran Chee Wah, just opposite the hotel for dinner comes highly recommended. We booked ourselves into the Bedrock Suite and the room was beyond our expectations! Comfortable sofas in the living room, king sized bed, walk-in wardrobe and vanity counter and spacious toilet with bathtub and separate his and hers sinks. Loved the fact that the huge TV set could be swivelled 360 so that we could watch TV in bed or seated in the living room. There was also a hot and cold water dispenser in the room that provided hot and cold water on demand. A huge shout out goes to Debbie, our hostess, who was ever eager to engage in banter with us and make recommendations on where to go for food and sightseeing activities. And a huge thanks also to her team of hotel staff who keep the place spotlessly clean and welcoming. Bedrock Hotel gets my two thumbs up and will be my top choice for future Ipoh trips.

SingaporeBreakfast. Although the hotel had a kitchen, the Western meal was fairly basic and on our 2nd morning, the nasi lemak which we were promised was not delivered.
We love the service, the location and the rooms. The hotel is small and cozy. The owners and staff were super friendly and very hospitable. One thing that this hotel offers that delighted us was the water dispenser (hot and cold water)! I travel extensively across the world and this is the first accommodation that I know of that installs a water dispenser in the hotel room! This is great because we do not need to worry about not having enough drinking water, or having to buy bottled water or even having to boil water in a kettle. Thank you so much Bedrock for such an innovative service that meets our basic needs! We also love the room which is spacious and clean. The location is very central to many places in Ipoh. Everywhere we wanted to go were mostly between 7mins and 15mins drive. The surrounding areas had some great eateries and all within walking distance too. Will definitely stay in Bedrock again in my next visit.

Nice hotel. Very conveniently located. Near lots of eateries and shops. Every room is fitted with cosway hot & cold water dispenser which is very unusual. The owner wife Derby is very kind, helpful and hospitable. Our first time to Ipoh and with no itinerary, with her help, she introduced us to nice places of interest and good restaurants. Our friend dropped his hotel room key (in a form of a card) at a restaurant nearby, and upon receiving a call from the restaurant, the hotel owner was so kind that he drove to the restaurant to pick up the room key on our behalf. We really appreciate their kind gesture. Staying at this hotel made us feel so cozy, comfortable & homely.

United StatesEverything was good.
What a wonderful little hotel. Just 10 rooms. The rooms were recently renovated and spacious. The bed was the best I’ve slept in since I left home four weeks ago. Comfortable, great sheets, great pillows. The bathroom was stylish and immaculate. There is a filtered hot and cold water dispenser and a Nespresso machine in the room. The owner is happy to highlight the things to see in the old town on a map, which is about a 6 minute walk to the old town. The hotel is across the road from a shopping and restaurant area. We got a SIM card around the corner from the hotel and downloaded the Grab Car app which makes getting to things that are on the outskirts of Ipoh, like the temples and caves, very easy (and inexpensive).

CanadaLove the hotel. Don’t go during the days when old town is closed which we did, only handful of shops opened .. Museums were closed. Lunch in town seem to be finished early as well. Only stayed two nights. Grab taxis are great here.
Good choice of western or malaysian breakfast. Special coffee appliance , hot and cold water dispenser, no usage of plastic bottled stuff. Turn around TV from bedroom to sitting area. Lovely comfy bed bolster. Had a good choice of spirits and wine for hotel guests like us who stayed up chatting with owner. Debbie was most informative.
