How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The place was in a great location, near night markets and lots of coffee shops and restaurants for during the day. The staff were really helpful, leaving keys in a safe box for us to check in in the early hours. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed - great value for money and would recommend a stay here in KK!

The Wifi certainly didn't work well. Kids always freak-out. The lodge is ok to just for sleep in my opinion. If you want something more, this is not the one for you. As there are also many good hotels nearby, along Gaya road. The toilet is not the cleanest also, which to me, is quite disturbing.
The location of this lodge is very strategic, so many good eateries within walking distance. Api-Api night market which only available on weekends are just in front of it.

The shower head suddenly detached itself from the pipe on day 3 of my stay… I just decided to bathe with water from the hose. Inconvenient but no alternative

Our room was not clean when we arrived. All the surfaces were very dusty and full of hair. Had to clean it myself, which was a bit disgusting and rather annoying. Air condition was old, and either too warm or ice cold, nothing in between. The common areas looked neglected and rather shabby.
Very nice and helpful reception staff - thank you, Walter! Excellent location in Gaya street. Good security. Self-service for fresh towels, toilet paper etc.

Bathroom is a little awkward. Shower and toilet are very close to each other. Still worth the stay.

- Doorbell kept going off very late into the night - The pillows were gross - very brown under the covers and there was a large stain on the mattress, we were given one big towel and one small towel both of which didn't smell very clean - I think a lick of paint and some new towels and pillows would make a huge difference to this room I would probably give it a 9 otherwise - the guesthouse could use some TLC and a spring clean.
Great location on Gaya street, check in process was easy and Walter communicated clearly over wattsapp, the original room we were given seemed to have some electric issues ( lights wouldn't turn off, AC didn't turn on ) I called Walter who put us in an alternative room straight away. Room was a good size. Good value for money

The sound of washing machine? of upstair tenants at night and after midnight. Lack of proper desk and chair, there is a dressing table instead. Also the cups provided were too small, about half the size of a regular mug.
Strategic location. Lots of eateries and convenient stores nearby. TV comes with android tv box so lots of channel to choose from and in HD.

Good stay and location. Really basic room but had AC, kettle, en suite, towels and was suitable for my needs. Staff incredibly helpful to any need and information about surrounding area. Pretty clean, good location and felt safe as a solo traveller. Great breakfast next door too

Nobody there on check in and a bit of faff to get into the room, which could have been avoided had they contacted me beforehand regarding how to access the key. Room was clean enough but could have been better
