Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Our stay in the Borneo Jungle Adventure lodge was nothing short of spectacular! From the seamless pick-up and drop-off from Sandakan to the incredible activities arranged by the lodge, every detail was perfect. The lodge itself was well-equipped and comfortable, and we were thrilled to find reliable WiFi in the common area. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the river cruises, expertly guided by Linda and her team. Their knowledge and dedication were evident, and they went above and beyond to ensure we saw the best wildlife the region has to offer, including the elusive Big 5. Linda's passion and expertise truly enhanced our experience, making each cruise an adventure to remember. A special mention goes to the food – the best Malaysian home-cooked meals we’ve ever had! The lodge graciously accommodated our vegetarian request, and every meal was a delightful culinary experience. This stay comes highly recommended for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of Borneo's jungle while enjoying excellent hospitality and thrilling wildlife adventures. Thank you to Linda and the entire team for making our stay unforgettable!

United KingdomNo aircon in the rooms, but it is the eco friendly choice so we were fine to be sweaty for a few days. Some more comfortable seats or beanbags in the communal area would be good, as it would have been nice to hang out in that area more instead of chilling in our room.
Linda and the team are amazing! They will make you feel so welcome the second you arrive, making it such a unique experience from the beginning. They only take 8-10 guests so it felt very special. With any animal excursion, you have to go in with no expectations as the animal sightings can be unpredictable but we were so lucky to see 4 out of 5 of the Borneo big 5, including an entire herd of Pygmy elephants!! Linda and the boat captain were so trustworthy to find the best spots to maximise our chances of sightings. Accommodation here is very basic so do not expect luxury by any means, but this didn’t bother us as you stay here for the jungle experience.

United KingdomHonestly nothing! This was our favourite experience in Borneo!
Linda was a wonderful host, she was so passionate and knowledgeable about the jungle and the animals. She was committed to helping us see as much wildlife as possible. The morning and evening boat journeys were stunning and we saw so many animals. The rooms were basic, as to be expected in the jungle, but completely clean and comfortable. There was always lots of delicious food at meal times (but if you like snacking, I'd recommend buying some snacks before arriving as there is nothing but jungle around the accommodation, so nowhereto buy anything). Also make sure to bring bug spray!

AustraliaThe staff were very welcoming and friendly. Linda, our guide is a great host and made every effort to ensure we saw as much of the jungle wildlife as possible. She made us feel welcome from the first moment. This was a true jungle experience where it is only accessible by boat.

United KingdomWhen we arrived at Borneo Jungle Adventure, we quickly knew we'd made the right choice. We had a very warm welcome, the common area had a nice vibe and the food was tasty. The staff were all fantastic, particularly our amazing guide Linda. You can really tell that everyone working here wants you to have the best time and see as much wildlife as possible. As with all the lodges in the area, there are no guarantees on which animals you'll see. For example, if the elephants happen to visit the river during your stay, you'll see them. If the elephants are deep in the jungle, even the best guide won't be able to summon them. We were lucky enough to see four of the big five (and plenty of other cool animals too!) but if we'd had seen less than we were hoping for we'd still have known we were in the right hands. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

So many things !! Communication was brilliant from first enquiry, on arrival I felt incredibly welcome and safe. The lodge is set back from the river which gives privacy and I liked. My room had been freshly renovated, as everything here, and beds brand new - I really had one of the best sleeps here. The hot shower was also fantastic !!! The food is abundant and plentiful ..local food made with real good intentions. The staff are really wonderful and the trips out on the river were fantastic …they wanted to make sure i had as much opportunity to see as many animals as possible. And I did !! I saw Pygmy elephants, probuscus monkeys, pig tailed monkeys, silver leaf monkeys, hornbills, kingfishers, crocodiles, eagles and a beautiful male orangutan !! Really very special and memories I will never forget. Just bring on the river at sunrise and sunset is unbelievably beautiful. I really genuinely cannot recommend this place enough. There’s only a few reviews due to change of name …read them and you’ll see they’re all the same. A really fantastic stay for great value.

PhilippinesThe room has no AC, but at night it gets a bit chilly anyways. There is a strong celling fan.
The amazing staff personalized my whole stay with what I like to eat and which animals I want to see today. I felt very special because of their highest level customer service. The place is located in the middle of the jungle, so you can get all the animals coming to your door. I got civets, bats and broadbill birds. The food is amazing and the whole experience is great. The place just reopened so all the bedding and towels are freshly new, the same with boat and life jackets. My bed was hard, but I really liked it this way. There is internet in the restaurant/ chilling area.

MauritiusThere was not much not to like, but being very critical, the rooms could do with some upgrading.
The camp has changed it's name to Borneo Jungle Adventures, previously Kinabatangan Jungle Adventures. My wife and i spent two nights late January at the jungle camp. It is a real authentic jungle camp, set slightly back from the river so you don't see all the game viewing boats going up and down the river. You really feel you are in the jungle, great location. Linda and her staff are extremely friendly and helpful, nothing is too much for them. They even organised to get some beers from a nearby resort when we ran out of stock. The cook prepares delicious Malaysian dishes. The rooms could do with a little bit of an upgrade, but hey, you are in the jungle. We had the good fortune that an in-love couple of Orang utans came to visit the camp and for an hour we sat and watched them. If we had not been on a preplanned trip we would have loved to stay longer. Highly recommended

FinlandI loved my jungle experience and stay in Borneo Jungle Adventure. Everything was very well organized; they took me from the airport, got me to the lodge and after two nights of staying there they brought me back to the airport. I didnt need to plan anything extra myself. The location of the lodge is PERFECT! Its a bit further down the river from the village and there is nobody around, just rainforest and wildlife. You can see many different animals, even very rare ones right at the yard. We were lucky to meet Orangutan at the backyard of the lodge!! The lodge itself was very comfortable and cute place. The common area where to relax, eat and observe wildlife is made comfortable and there is coffee, tea and water all the time available for you. The food was great, local homemade food. There was three meals a day and we were offered some snacks as well. You could buy a beer or cola as extra. Rooms were basic, nothing extra, but comfortable and had all you needed for your stay in jungle. If there was any other needs, the BJA team was helping immediately. During my two night stay we had multiple boat tours; two at morning and two at afternoon. We also did a walking tour at the rainforest. The boat tours were especially amazing, the boat driver Naen and lodge manager Linda are very talented at spotting different animals and they had so much knowledge about the wildlife and nature. We saw so many different animals! Even around the lodge the team members are always spotting animals, which are hard to spot for regular people visiting there. Last but not least the team of BJA is amazing and made my stay wonderful. They are doing everything to make sure your stay is perfect, comfortable and safe. I can totally recommend to stay with BJA if you are looking for relaxing holiday in the middle of the jungle.

NetherlandsThe Borneo Jungle Adventure was such a good experience! We wanted to experience the pure nature and so we really did. It was very well organized, the staff is heartwarming, very kind and also very professional. We stayed in a simple but good room., clean, good beds, spacious, with our own bathroom. It is a quiet and calm place where you really can get away from a hectic life. The program has it all, super jungle tours on the river as well as by foot (put on long sleeves), with Linda and Naim that know so much about the area and its wildlife, than breakfast, lunch and dinner are included and prepared with love to our wishes. We simply loved it and recommend it to every nature lover.
