Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBeautiful shophouse, loved and looked after so well. The owner is extremely thoughtful, knowledgeable and hospitable, and the resident cat is also a brilliant host. Room was huge with tasteful vintage furniture. Great location, walking distance to all the sights of the old town without being in a tourist trap spot. Plenty of food options nearby, and free breakfast made fresh to order in the morning with the room price, customisable for vegetarians too. Host very easy to contact over whatsapp

AustraliaBathroom has no ventilation. Mattress could be more comfy. When I arrived, I wanted to sleep after an overnight flight plus a bus, and there was someone downstairs watching TV or streaming video very loud, I don't know if staff or guest, so I couldn't sleep. But after that day, the place was very quiet. The rooms are upstairs and there is a cafe downstairs, however it seemed to be closed during our stay.
Location. Staff. Cat on the property. Size of room. Breakfast simple but good enough to start the day. Nice traditional house.

MalaysiaShower heater have a loud noise when switched on. Water flow is not strong and big enough. Suggest to have a floor mat outside of the bathroom and small dustbin in the room.
The place is located at town, very near to Jonker street. Owner is helpful and friendly. Parking is just outside of the cafe. Mr Colin helped me to pay parking online but didn’t want to take my money.

I love the baba nyonya architecture, brings me back to 1900s. Host is friendly and informative. Love the spacious bedroom and the tranquility at night. Very safe to walk back alone from Jonker Street. Will be a good family gathering to book all 3 rooms. Food is delicious.

SingaporeThe smaller room needs more time to cool down from the afternoon sun, and water pressure not great because heater pump was not working perfectly. But as I shared with my party, this was exactly how it was like in my grandpa's place. It is a full suite vintage peranakan experience, and despite these, all of us enjoyed our stay. 😀
4 of us had a great, "as-it" peranakan home stay experience, right to peranakan meals (not included) we enjoyed at the cafe! The host and family are friendly and we feel really at home! We love the resident cat Joe-tto, who is quite a character. The bigger room with a bathtub gives a "travel back in time" feeling like some movies we watched.😀

Old shop house converted to Cafe and 3 rooms. Nicely decorated. Bed was comfortable ac and WiFi both good. It is an old house, so floors and plumbing creak, which is to be expected but I slept fine. Cafe serves tasty food at lunchtime. As no one checked in after me, I could leave luggage in the room until 3 pm. when I was catching the bus.

MalaysiaWater pressure at the basin is low although the shower is fine. Aircon takes a while to cool the room on a hot day. The building could do with minor improvements and extra hands to spruce it up.
Good location, an easy walk to Jonker but away from the crowds. Easy to find parking. This is an interesting, 3-room, old shophouse with character, not a boutique hotel. Wifi is OK. The proprietor is helpful and the downstairs cafe laksa is excellent. The dumplings at the shop next door are pretty good too.

MalaysiaAs our room was facing the main road, we could hear loud noise from the traffic even up til 2am in the morning.
About 15 mins walk from Jonker Street. There are parking bays available in front of the guesthouse. Place is really clean and well kept, and i love the vintage decor in this place. Room is super spacious ( we took the double room with private bathroom) ,and so was the bathroom. The room also came with free breakfast. The owner who runs the place is super responsive on the phone. There was also a water dispenser so we could refill drinking water any time.

SpainAll was correct and we would stay there again. If you don't want to walk these 15 minutes, maybe choose a different accomodation, which is closer to the town centre.
The staff was very nice and friendly, the room was huge and it was clean. The neighbourhood had got many restaurants where you can eat. It's only a 15-minute walk from the city centre and it was very quiet at night.

AustraliaColin's place was a really welcoming and timelessly charming place to stay with a wonderful host who was attentive to our needs. The space beautifully curated with local crafts by Colin, transported us to the true baba Nyonya experience of Melaka. From the delicious food available at the restaurant below, a short walking distance from Jonker Street and back to a room that was spacious with a bath to soak after our long day of exploring: It was a really nice retreat and good value overall. Thank you for having us we look forward to visit again ☺️

SingaporeSince the construction is old and next to the road, it can get noisy at night. The toilet overall was okay, but could have done with some thorough cleaning. Due to the size of the room, the aircon takes time to cool and the fans are quite old too. We had breakfast only once and the options were English/Continental - we would've preferred to try something local instead.
Colin's Place is in a traditional Peranakan house converted into a cafe and an Airbnb. There is a cafe/restaurant that runs till about 3PM, with traditional tables and furniture. The ambience is very rustic and nostalgic. There is an small courtyard area in the centre. The room was very spacious (Laksa is the name of the room) - comfortable bed (though a bit soft), a large seating area with an old traditional lamp. Extra mattresses, pillows etc. were provided as well. The room is huge, and features a lounge chair, cupboard, dressing table, work table and TV. Wifi was excellent throughout. Location is quite good - about 10 minutes walk from the bustle of Jonker street. There are a few traditional kopitiam's around too.
