The location is PERFECT! Also, the personal there is very kind and insightfull. Very safe place for women traveling alone as the staff is attentive to odd situations and will make sure with the girl (taking her aside) to see if she needs assistance or if she is ok.

Unfortunately the floor trembled a lot everytime someone walked on it so woken up very easily. But that's only if you have a light sleep like me... Maybe request a bed as far away from the entrance as possible

The locks on both shower cubicles were broken. Therefore, slight concern that another guest will come along and enter the shower.

Great hostel! I supposed to stay 2 nights ended up staying for more than a week. Dawson the owner is really friendly, helpful and I had great conversions with him. He knows so much about the culture and Ipoh! Doorms are quiet, clean I had everything I needed. Food, coffee the staff and ambience is also nice. Also it was a perfect place for work, comfy chairs, tabels with plugs, chill music ☺️ I hope I can come back again!

It is located right next to the main road, so might be a little noisy at times.

Superb location right in the middle of old town. Less than 5 mins walk to popular breakfast spots like Nam Heong, Sin Yoon Loong, and Nam Chau. Boss Dawson and team are a friendly bunch with great recommendations for food and places to visit in Ipoh. I enjoyed my stay here

stayed there for 1 night, and there was no running water. but I think the whole street was also affected, not just ola hostel

loved the common area where you could talk to fellow backpackers. there are also bicycles for rent. Sam the owner was super hospitable and friendly, backpackers should come here to stay!

- No common area after-hours: Once the cafe closes (~9 pm), there's nowhere to gather. - Awkward check-in: Arrived a bit before check-in, and was made to feel like I did something wrong... - Brisk A/C: When both A/C units are turned on, it can get a bit nippy in the dorm. Fortunately, this is easily fixed by turning one of the units off, but this could be a problem when the dorm is full (I stayed during Ramadan, and I was by myself for 2 of my 4 nights).

+ On-site cafe: excellent place to work and relax when I wasn't out exploring. + Comfortable beds: Mattresses were fantastic! + Central location: Right in the middle of Ipoh's downtown attractions.

There's nearly no space to relax or sit apart from the bedroom or the restaurant space.

The location is excellent in the centre of the city and very easy to reach within walking distance from the train station.
