I liked everything. Sarkies was closed for renos but temporary buffet venue on 6th floor was excellent. A Roti Canai master chef was on hand daily preparing best roti Canai in Penang.

Inpiring and restful stay in beautiful surroundings, perfect location with absolutely helpful staff in every department. E&O has elevated the hotel stay experience to perfection. I've had the pleasure of staying here for years and cannot wait to return again.

Perhaps more choice of restaurants. Both restaurants that had Asian food had menus do similar.

The hotel itself is a historical building. Its gallery details the history of the hotel from the beginning up to now with lots of photos and interesting exhibits. The location of hotel is perfect , especially if this is your first trip to Penang, because the most popular sightseeing spots and famous local food stalls are nearby. The hotel breakfast is abundant and fresh with both Malay and western food and fruit.

Not anyone’s fault but I got a vibe that this hotel suits for romantic getaways and people who like it quiet. Pool are was so quiet that I was scared to unleash my kids there for a day or so, I let go on 2nd day and expected happened, some old snob asked my child to stay quiet and be considerate of others. My view is not the best if you are visiting with young & loud kids. Heaven if you hate noise and parties

A wonderful stay in the Victory Annex (very useful to know there are two entrances from a previous review and although our Grab driver still took us to the main entrance, the staff were charming and had our bags delivered to our room whilst we checked in at Victory reception.) Great room, beautiful infinity pool and the most amazing buffet breakfast I've ever seen. Highly recommend.

Everything about it is great.

It was by far the best 5 star property that I have stayed in. The food was amazing and the facilities were beyond imagination. The location is beautiful overlooking Andaman sea. The history and the heritage tag added to the charm. The rooms are extraordinary. Swimming pool and the infinity pool overlooking the sea are a tray to watch. This is truly a great property.

We stayed in one wing and our friends stayed in the other and it actually made it a bit difficult as we couldn't always access the same things. If you are going in a group I would encourage you to stay in the same wing.

Gorgeous large rooms, great infinity pool, staff were really helpful and the buffet was great. Location was great, and you are able to walk into town.

Wasn’t a 5 star hotel in my opinion, rooms were tired and not spotlessly clean, so not reflective of a full 5 star experience. I read a review that the mattresses being hard which I dismissed but they really were extremely hard haha! Also didn’t realise that it’s basically 2 hotels with 2 check-in areas; so this review reflects the Victory Annexe rooms - the heritage side may be of a higher standard?

Great location, great views from our room and the room itself was really spacious. Great breakfast and staff were lovely. Wasn’t in the city centre but we really enjoyed the walk and being on the waterfront is great with the cooler sea breeze. Pool area was nice and gym was a decent size. I think given the seaside location alone would be enough of a reason for us to stay here again!
