How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The shower at night could have been a bit warmer.
The staff and people treat you like family, so there is an amazing atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone.

I loved my stay at Faloe! Sarah, the owner of the hostel, is very friendly and is supporting from the beginning of your stay. Stell and Syah are the best! They make you feel home and it feels like i know them for years. Stell is very helpful, she maintained to book last-minute jungle Safari for me. I really recommend this place! Especially if you are travelling alone and if you want to meet new people. I really hope to see Stell and Syah back! 💕

WiFi wasn't the strongest but thats only a small first world problem.
Friendly staff and very helpful too giving us loads of info on trips and places to see. Very clean, good air con and kitchen facilities. Although we didn't stay long enough to use the laundry facilities, I like that they have an area to air dry as well as a dryer. Good reading light and a plug next to each bed too.

I got difficulties to sleep well at times due to noises from others in the dorm but that's part of the deal, I'll bring earplugs next time.
Both Sarah and Stell are amazing characters and very helpful. The bed was comfy, the place is quiet and well situated.

Wi-fi wasn’t great for me. Apart from this the hostel was great!
Had a great time here. Hostel is small and cosy and very sociable vibe. Made some good friends here and really enjoyed my stay. Steale the host was lovely and always chatty and friendly. Also cooking facilities if you want to make food and a TV with Netflix to chill.

Everything was perfect!
It was the best hostel I've stay in South East Asia so far. The common area was perfect to hang out and meet people. They also have a equipped kitchen perfect for cooking, me and others guest cooked family's dinner more than once, making me feel as home! Stell the receptionist couldn't be better!! Always cheerful, helping us organize our tours, taking us out to bars and see the sunset! I will never forget her kindness and friendship. The beds were the best, just like those we have at homes, thick mattress, good sheets, 2 pillows! The hostel was also very clean (I do have high standards in this subject). Thank Faloe Hostel for such great memories!!

everything, great social space, dorms and beds are very clean and comfortable, amazing little kitchen space, laundry is cheap and quick. nowhere else in KK is worth the effort, only stay here! great tours can also be organised here and the staff are the best!

Everything! The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, they still helped me sorting out stuff days later I left. They can help you out with all the tours or activities you wanna do around KK, and price are very affordable. The hostel is small, but cosy and with space for everyone staying. Small kitchen available, coffee, tea and water refill as well. Beds are comfy and you have all the space you need for your stuff. Laundry available for a super cheap price. Been quite small it feels more like home and it's easy to meet other travelers. The position is not on the waterfront, but it's only 10-15 minutes walking from it. Cannot recommend enough!

With only 2 bathrooms for the whole hostel, the waiting can be a bit long.
Everything in this hostel was great, especially Ivy who is always there to help with a smile. The beds are really comfortable and the bathrooms are clean. Location is also great.

🥇🥇🥇Ivy Ivy Ivy the charming professional, always smiling more than helpful WOW I have no words she is this place, the hearth and blood Ok the rest then…clean nice rooms and showers and toilet. Credit also for the way the towel is done, like at Hilton…so sweet. And how it’s organised at hostel, not easy with a lot of travellers coming and leaving. Ivy is the queen of it all

There is a washroom that is combined as a shower. Would have appreciated if there were bathroom slippers provided as the floor is always wet :)
Cosy and welcoming space, friendly staff (hello Ivy) and has all the facilities you need (shower, washing, cooking). There was a long-staying guest who whipped up some meals for us so that was a bonus!
