We thought we had a bungalow with a hammock but we didn’t, something to be aware of! The rooms are quite basic, for example no soap is provided, but apart from that it’s comfortable.

Great location, there’s a good restaurant called Tony’s opposite! Nice communal area which can be social on evenings if you want a drink. Lots of cats which we loved and nice staff.

Nothing special, but there was no AC in the room so it was very hot and it was relatively basic with the toilets getting clogged or overflowing most of the time.

It was close to the center, had a nice commin area with music and had lots of cats ❤️

The staff are all friendly and it has a really nice vibe. They will help you with anything you need. They have a nice area to chill and a filter to refill your water bottle. The bed is also comfortable and the bathroom was cleaned every morning. It is also a great location, only a 2 minute walk to the beach and by plenty of shops and cafes.

Overall the property was lovely, just a few little tips for the future is that a lamp in the room would be great rather than such a bright overhead light, and the staff were amazing just had no toilet roll replaced / fresh towels in the 4 nights we were there :)

There was no soap for washing hands and no hooks for wet towels or clothes - those would be helpful to have in room.

Good value for money and good location. The room is simply equipped with comfortable bed, little table with chair and small bathroom.

Toilets can get a better cleaning. Don’t even think about getting a room with a fan, the heat is crazy. We couldn’t sleep at all the first night, so we changed rooms to a one with aircon. But you can find other places cheaper with an aircon close by.

All the noises from the sitting area outside could be heard in the sleeping dorm so earplugs were a must.

There was a lot of ants in the rooms, like nearly infested and they got into the bed too. I also didn’t sleep well any of the nights due to the proximity to the ‘lounge’ area which would be fine because it quiets at midnight but there is also a rooster on property who starts going at 5 am. It was right beside our cabin and he goes on and off all morning. The plug sockets are not located in a good spot.

The mattress was not very confortable with the plastic protection on it. Missing privacy with some curtains for the bunk beds, and power outlets for each bed. Little details can be improve to make this place even better.

The place is very lovely with good vibes, there is a bar where you can meet other guests. The bathroom was clean. I received a warm welcome.

The rooms are very basic and the aircon does not work perfectly, but I guess that’s to be expected for the price.

I'd suggest to invest in mosquito nets and repellents as the area of the hostel is pretty bad for mosquitos and our room did not have any kind of protection. The boss of the place could be more kind and available by accommodating guests' requests.

Gecko Guesthouse is located in an excellent position, right in front of Pantai Cenang Beach and in the area of many restaurants. We had a pleasant stay and we loved being around cats all the time! If you love cats, that's the place to be in Langkawi :)) All the staff was super available and Chief is the best local guide (he gave us sooo many useful tips on the island!). WI-FI is good and I would suggest this place and its atmosphere for digital nomads or remote workers :))

Wifi at the property was laggy but does the work. Try getting the room near to the reception area for stronger wifi connection.

Best location and was very near to the beach. The property resides at the heart of the city. Mr. Chief was very supportive and helpful. He guided us in all possible ways.
