How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

That the hiardryer was stuck to the wall instead of being portable. There wasn't any hand soap provided. the soundproofing is not very good as you would be able to hear the people in nearby rooms through the window and the swimming pool if they are very loud.
The bed and the water pressure and temperature was great. The pillows were not too floppy and gave me a good night's rest for sure.

Parking - so limited Swimming Pool - extremely not suitable for kids below 12 years old. Too dangerous :( Breakfast - not many choices of food. I stayed 3 days, everyday almost same menu

The main entrance is full of crows and so dangerous to move out from hotel as very high chance to get some crow dropping!!!
Room was spacious, however toilet after shower all floor wet as no door to shower. Location is good centralized and near food court so easy to get food, did not take the breakfast option.

No proper wardrobe. Breakfast is too little dish choice, every day is the same dish. The pub does not open daily, thus cannot chill at the pub.
Big family room. The water dispenser is good. The swimming pool is nice.. Front desks are friendly and approachable.

plenty of carpark lot
good location, near to the city centre and many street food stalls surrounding area, there is a foodcourt next to the hotel, easy for food hunting

Room ensuite toilet/bathroom cleanliness has lots of area for improvement. Sound proof between rooms is not as good, could hear next day chit chatting and laughing.
Breakfast was minimum and basic. Coffee could have been better!

The mini fridge isn't cold. Can't even keep an ice cream. Soundproof was terrible. It's very noisy up and down, not sure what's going on. And, car park provided is not enough.
Hotel location , it's very convenient as to our plan destination is not far.

Rooms were fairly basic, but comfortable. Parking is extremely limited so if going there on a weekend get there early to secure a parking spot.The swimming pool is quite small but OK for young children.
Great location, close to the street food stalls and a 10-15 minute walk to Komtar Tower.

Breakfast was very ordinary- only rice, spaghetti bolognese, boiled eggs, soupy chicken porridge, toast with butter and jam. The TV did not work, which I mentioned at the front desk on my first day ( I stayed 3 nights). Was not fixed by the time I left even though I mentioned at again. No big deal as was out for dinner in the early evening and had my iPad to watch and a book to read. Over priced.
Clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. 15 minute walk to CAT free city bus at KOMTAR. Lots of food courts close by. Staff were friendly and helpful. 30 minute Grab ride to Penang Hill. 15 minute Grab ride to Gurney Plaza, a large, modern shopping centre with a supermarket and lots of upmarket and regular shops. Eco friendly measure such as no water bottles supplied in your room but a filtered water station near the lift on each floor and large refillable shampoo and body wash bottles in the shower ie no small plastic bottles✔️✔️

Parking is limited and less than 10 lots parking spaces for hotel guest....
