How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No handtowel, no art on the walls, no cushions on the sofa, no kitchen waste bin but these are little extras. overall great value for money
Very comfy bed, big and spacious, great aircond, good water pressure, clean room.excellent value for money for a short stay. Easy walk from from hotel to tourist attractions, great view from the 18th floor

There was a piece of hair in the bathroom and some dust on the tables, therefore cleanliness must be checked properly. The room would be better if you add more furniture especially in the kitchen, as there is nothing to use (all empty except kettle jug + 2 cups). This was inconvenient. I think they didn't notice or take notes for my request through the booking, which I preferred double bed but they should've offered me something like a joint bed instead of saying no can't (service is just slow). The facilities look nice but are not very functional with the gym having limited options and the pool has been slightly neglected with cockroaches. No early check in. No baggage assistance. Hopefully, the whole team can improve better in the future. Thank you 😊
Registration was quick. The room is very big, comfortable, and nice with air conditioner. The view of the room is one of the main selling points. The staff did their best to help with what they could in a friendly manner.

I don't think I have any bad thing to say about the hotel. Except there was a strange smell on lvl 7 where the pool is located at the end of the corridor.
Convenient location. Easy to grab to anywhere. Got a delicious crepe cake store just opp the hotel. View is beautiful on high floor. Bathtub is so luxurious and relax. Check in and out is vry easy. Swimming pool is large and spacious with beautiful view of melaka.

Parking is in a different building across The Pines. Be mindful that they have some problem with the parking system and I was charged RM10 (pre-authorised), RM2, RM10(pre-authorised), RM2, RM10(pre-authorised) and RM 4 for 3 times entrance. Pre-authorised amount should be floating not charged but that's not the case for me. I need to go through the hassle of contacting the parking provider, check with bank and then shoot an email for them to refund my money back. What an inconvenient experience.
Hotel is in the same building as the pines melaka but hosted by other business which is greystone. Make sure to read all instructions provided by the property. Room is spacious, clean and the bed was so comfortable. Location is very near to melaka river cruise where you can opt to walk along the river to get to jonker walk.

No security at the swimming pool, people jumping into the pool, no proper attire, children swimming at the adult pool section, no privacy at room 709 as people next door or elsewhere can just swim and make noise infront of our balcony and etc.

I booked 2 unit. Both are not in very good condition. Lack of maintenance. 1 of the unit was smelly.( come from the bathroom)

The room the ceiling / wall little little come out and no parking provided I don’t know why I was charged 10 then 4 then 10 then 2 then 10 then 4 😅 try providing parking for guest

They didn’t provide parking for the unit :( you need to pay for the parking per hour.
It’s nice and comfy! The room is so big can accommodate up to 3-4 people cause they have sofa bed also
