The bed was a little flimsy and I could feel every movement from the upper bunk. 3-in-1 coffee provided was too sweet. But not a dealbreaker.

The view throughout the day was spectacular. The location was perfect. Facilities and staff were all wonderful.

Homy has a special place in out heart. We wished we stayed here for longer than just one night. The management also allowed us to leave our bags for a night or two while we were on our trip to the islanda. Definitely will be coming here again soon!

The walls were a little thin so I could hear people talking in the next room and feel the low boom of the music from pubs opposite the road. I feel that there could have been more toilet cubicles - there was just one with a toilet bowl and two for bathing.

I chose to stay in one of the private rooms and had an unblocked sea view. The hostel has everything you’d need - a shared bathroom and pantry, a lounge area, and the private room was decently equipped with a bed, table, bin and two hangers. Best of all the hostel’s location was right at the heart of Kota Kinabalu. It was easy to walk to the nearby downtown areas and also easy to get a grab anywhere.

Since it is situated in a tourist hotspot and just next to the main road, it can get pretty noisy even late in the night. Thankfully, earbuds can help mute some noise. Other than that, the accommodation was wonderful!

Homy Seafront Hostel is situated in the middle of the city with plentiful of dinning options (Gaya Street) within walking distance. The hostel has a comfortable social area and a good view of the sea. Imago shopping center is also within walking distance. There is also a newly opened laundromat just across the building.

Stayed there before and after my Kinabatangan River-Trip. First in a dorm, the second stay in a private room. Both bookings were very nice. You have a nice view above the water. You get Breakfast the whole day which is amazing. The people were super friendly and the wifi worked always very well. It’s a good area to walk around. I could leave my bigger backpack for my River-trip and they stored it safely.

We had such a lovely stay here. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The hostel is so homely, cosy and comfortable - we felt really at home here! Our room was nice and spacious, clean and comfy. The bathrooms were kept super clean. The communal spaces are really nice. We liked that we could make tea/coffee and have toast in the kitchen whenever.

Only downside was being able to hear the club music from the waterfront bars/clubs all night. That did disrupt my sleep. Need to have sound proof windows.

Everywhere is clean and the place is nicely decorated. The room has a big spacious (queen) beds, and plenty of cupboard space with locks. Had a beautiful view of the waterfront area. The entire vibe was cosy and friendly. The hostel is located on the 4th floor of a building. There are plenty of massage parlours in the building itself, and local hawker food options on the ground floor. Perfect location too!

Complimentary breakfast is okay but they don’t have butter for toast, just jam and chocolate. This is not a social hostel people did not hang around to chat in the common areas, but kept to themselves.

Perfect location, room was comfortable and clean (except for one towel but I was given two so didn’t matter as such). Showers and toilets are kept very clean and there is soap in the showers. Staff were very helpful with advice and booking trips.

The common area of the dorm rooms could sometimes get really messy (the one for private rooms was better). Increasing cleaning frequency would probably improve the comfort of the environment.

Me and my friends stayed at Homy for 5 nights. It's budget-friendly. The location, amenities, and atmosphere are good. We especially want to thank Kobe for the great hospitality. He gave us a lot of nice travel tips. We booked the Klias River Tour for proboscis monkey through the hostel, which was excellent!

- No possibility whatsoever to do some cooking, just a microwave and hot water available. Can be a huge minus for some.

- the location is great, just next to the waterfront in a busy area with malls and shops all around; - the free breakfast food (available all day long) is appreciated although not particularly rich; - the staff is friendly and tries their best to improve your stay; - the hostel itself is very tidy and clean, as well as the toilets. The common area is not that big, but has a cool view on the waterfront (as some of the rooms). The TV is provided with Netflix :) drinking water is available. Rooms are also tidy but very small.

the air conditioning was sometimes too cold. After a few days I had a bit of a cold. But I saw that a few guests liked it cooler. Difficult to please everyone

The Homy Seafront Hostel is located on the waterfront with fantastic views of the sea and fishing boats. In the evening you can admire many beautiful sunsets. The hostel is on the 4th floor and you don't hear any street noise. I was there twice, once in a 4-bed girls' room and once in an 8-bed girls' room. I liked the 8 bed room better because it was a bit larger and more spacious and had windows. Both rooms have comfortable beds with coat hooks, hangers, power sockets and night lamps. The beds have curtains if you want privacy. The lockable cupboards are outside. The breakfast area is very spacious and well equipped. You can prepare your own breakfast at any time. The staff are very friendly, in a good mood and have some tips and recommendations. A very big thank you to Fandy, who always answered my questions every now and then, gave tips via WhatsApp and also organized a tour - everything worked great. In the girls' room you quickly came into contact with the others; most of them were communicative and everyone was very friendly. I felt very comfortable and welcome, i would choose it again.
