Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe absolutely loved our stay at this property. Even though it’s only street parking we never had any issues finding a spot right outside the property (make sure you download the parking app!! A lot of the parking is not free in the larger towns in Malaysia apparently ..it is very cheap but you need to pay in the app) The location was walking distance to a lot of the sights we wanted to see and a plethora of amazing food, street markets, and shopping, it felt very safe, very quiet within the grounds, we always had the pool to ourselves when we were there to cool off midday. The room was great, perfectly decorated with a very comfortable bed and one of the best showers we had on our 4 month trip. The staff was very kind, always helpful and clearly put in a lot of work keeping the property maintained. Would stay again.

FranceWe would have loved to be able to have breakfast at the property as the set up is really nice and relaxing but there are plenty of restaurants and cafés around so this is not a big deal at all.
Beautiful property ideally located in Georgetown. Very central yet quiet as not directly on the street. The bedrooms are spacious, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The swimming pool is also beautifully done and is a great addition, we really enjoyed having a swim after walking around the town all day. We truly recommend!

LebanonI didn't like that the rooms were not sound proof you can hear outside and inside especially that the rooms are directly on the main entrance of the lobby and the corridor
I liked the shared space the coffee, the hospitality and design of the place. It is very homesy

MalaysiaIt's quite a hustle to find a parking spot.
The location was great, convenient to reach the main viral food in Penang. The room was excellent, meticulously decorated. The free flow of premix Penang white coffee is a good addition. The staff were very friendly. attentive and kind enough to give a vintage glass plate to my mother when she mentioned that the plates reminded her of childhood memories at our kampung. Love the privacy offered by the hotel throughout of our stays for two nights.

AustraliaThe loft doesn’t have a bannister for the staircase which was a little concerning with two children. Mine are old enough (7 and 6) to be careful but something to note if you are staying with younger children.
The hotel was absolutely gorgeous. It was like a little oasis within Georgetown. All staff were lovely and helpful! We all enjoyed going for a swim in the pool after a hot day of walking and exploring. The pool is nicer in real life compared to photos. Our room was large and the bathroom was spacious. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Georgetown!

GreeceNext to a Mosque so expect to be awaken by the prayer hours, and during end of Ramadan there were tons of firecrackers going on but that's to be expected given the season we booked so. Pool is close to the room so if you are a light sleeper and want to take a nap at afternoon you might be frustrated
Great central location, staff are Friendly and nice and agreed to keep our luggage for few hours at the reception.

SingaporeThe pool is quite dangerous to climb in and out from a child’s perspective as it is just a concrete stab with a granite stone inside to step on when getting out.

IndiaNot much to dislike about the property.
A royal old world vibe. As the name suggests the architecture and decor of the place reminds you of its South Asian and Peranakan heritage. The entire building was very thoughtfully done including the pool and the fountain in front lawn.

United StatesThe lounge chairs in the pool area were not in good shape. One was fully ripped and they eventually took it away. The toilet by the pool does not seem clean - maybe they're just stained, but it just didn't match the rest of the mansion which was beautiful. On my last day, I had the "Do not disturb" sign, as I was packing and finally showering. A staff member entered my room 30 minutes before I was due to check-out -- while I was in the shower. I was shocked and shouted from the shower for them to leave. I reported to the front desk staff who said sorry and that they were new people not fully trained. I was not happy.
Coffee and tea was available, but breakfast was not offered. There were many Chinese coffee places that open as early as 6am within a a block or two. There were also many other restaurants walking distance from our hotel's location. I had to walk farther to get to the shopping area. The bed was a lot firmer than I'm used to but we had such active days that I would sleep pretty soundly anyway. It was just the first night that I had issues. A friend and I shared a very spacious room with two king beds. It had a nice sitting area. I arrived very late to check-in. I'm glad someone was there to help me with keys and luggage. There is no elevator to the second floor in this beautifully restored mansion. The front desk staff was always helpful when we had questions.

Spacious room for Mansion Suites, if you travelling with kids you should consider this room. Just be extra careful if u travelling with toddler, this room has stairs inside. Great location; all the shop, restaurant, cafe just walking distance. Other than that all good and very satisfied.
