How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The direction/signboard to access to the property could be better.
The receptionist are friendly and kind. The location is close to the city, make it convenient for us to access to places. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

No cupboards or drawers to store clothes. Pinstay was great but the apartment complex itself has some issues. There is not a proper gym, it is just two treadmills. There are only 6 sun beds and no umbrellas or other areas for shade.
Great location and lots of food and shops in the complex. Lovely, helpful staff.

The cleanliness very poor. The toilet very dirty. The carpets got so much hair. The kitchen got baby cockroach. Overall, so dirty. We have to clean it in order to stay.
The interior design is beautiful. Spacious even for 6 peoples.

The fridge smelt really bad. We needed to put big bottles of water in it so would open it as quickly as we could but it would stink the apartment out for about half an hour every time

No curtain in the other bedroom. Once the sun is up you can feel the heat and rays from the sun shining on you.
The property is clean and we had a comfortable stay. All facilities was provided but a bit difficult for us to use bcs there were no English or Malay instructions.

Difficult to find the parking lot and the lift to the apartment. Poor signage. it is not free

the parking problem kinda cost us since we rent car but still the hotel is highly recommended ❤️
strategic place nearby to Jesselton Point which got us a few steps to jetty for our watersport activity, the view was great and so the pool was so beautiful in the night ❤️

The amenities inside the homestay were confusing to use like the water heater and the cooking tabletop. No clear instruction on how to use it. The carpet also need a cleaning.

The hotel is super hard to locate. The host provided the direction but did not state clearly which escalator near which shop to go. They only put one escalator photo as a direction but there are actually two escalators. The check out is even worse. The reception has got no staff until about 9am. I was waiting for them to reply my message and waiting in front of the reception until 9am then only able to check out. This is super inconvenient. Someone should have briefed about how to self check out but it didn’t happen. Pay your own parking fee
The room was cozy and nice design. Main window was facing greeneries. Basic amenities provided.

Cleanliness could have done better as the floor are quite sticky even though it has been cleaned before we checked in. The toilet did not dry easily.
The view for this property are perfect! Morning sunrise from the sea, at night you can see boats activities. The property looks exactly as per picture shown.

Facilities: the room I booked was for 6 persons, two of my family members were to sleep on sofa bed, but blanket were not provided. It was only a short stay, but the utensil they provided to us were not enough for 6 persons. I would suggest to have a curtain over window which aircond condenser was placed (I suppose) for the room with sliding door because it could be too bright in the morning if we wanna sleep in for a bit. The price they charged is for 6 persons as in descriptions and I expected all the necessary facilities are for 6 persons. Thank you
