Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaIt was still a little reconstruction work left but it was not annoying at all.
The included food was very good and every day we had a great variety warm and cold dishes. The resort is directly at the beach and the new built beach chalets are very lovely.

NetherlandsCentral/corporate reservations was very poor and not hospitable. They also did not mention about the significant constructions works that are ongoing. Variety of food could be better. Needs the dots on the i to become luxury…. I.e food, items sold out and no complimentary water…
Epic island and new chalets are beautiful. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Nice excursions included. even more beautiful once refurbishment is completed.

IndiaThe food was great and tasty, but could include some more dishes in the spread, a variety of seafood cuisine is expected and maybe some more fruits! Should think of adding a spa. Also snorkelling spots can be better, wasn’t exciting honestly!

ChinaTINY beds! Main focus is day trippers not those staying longer. Kids not considered (it's hard to bring supplies to the island, so we relied on the food and snacks provided. However, often there was no child-appropriate option... only tea and coffee). We had to ask for something several times. These were provided.
Mantanani island is just like the photos! The snorkeling trips where great!

GermanyLimited drinking water provided (no refill station, just two small bottle at the room), currently under construction and the construction noise ends around 10pm - but it doesn't bothered us because our villa was not that close to the construction area
Beautiful Island, staff is amazing, variety of activities (snorkeling, bicycle, kajak). Sometimes we were the only ones at the beach or in the sea - it felt like a lonely island.

PortugalUnfortunately, there were a few things that in the end upset us: our room was only cleaned once during the 4 days - ithe end we didn't understand if this was the hotel policy or not...but it was really unconfortable; Food was of good quality and well cooked but the variety was frankly poor: The offer for tropical fruit was very scarce and no vegetarian options. Also, have seen that the guests that left on the day we checked in were offered a special meal in the last day because they stayed for 4 days, and sadly we didn't receive the same treatment on our last day...and it was our honeymoon! The sunbeds are extremely unconfortable and there are no available cushions for guests. i had to lay on the sand. But we consider there's a lot of potential here, and all this will be certainly improved!
The big plus of this property is the location, simplicity and the fact that the staff is very nice and seems happy. Also they offer snorkeling everyday and bikes available all day to go around the island. It was very peaceful and the beach was awesome. Great for snorkeling lovers and beach explorers!

AustraliaThe island is a rubbish tip for plastic and sea junk. There's nothing to do. The sea is too rough to snorkel, the beach is coral so swimming is challenging. The rooms are ok, but the 'resort' facilities are a joke. The prepared food is limited in choice and inedible, no cocktails, no beer, no ice cream, nothing in the vending machines. The Resort owners won't pay to have the place stocked so the guests they capture can't even drown their sorrows with food or drinks. This is not a resort and it's misleading to suggest otherwise. I've been to resorts - this is a really bad school camp, without activities. The staff are pleasant but they are not trained in hospitality and very few speak English. In the lunch room (it's not a restaurant) you can expect to line up for your food, sit on plastic chairs at bench tables and scrape your plate when done. All the food tastes the same - and that's not good. What a joke, and it's on the guests. We booked for 4 days and cancelled on day 2. We couldn't leave the island until day 3 because the sea was too rough - they still charged us for the night. The boat ride there and back can be dangerous, we made it but my luggage was destroyed and they refuse to do anything about it - disgraceful customer service. The boat drivers are highly skilled but the ride is fast and dangerous - people were scared, kids terrified and plenty of passengers were vomiting. it's not a short trip so there's plenty of time to worry. Do yourself a favour pay the extra and go somewhere else.
nothing.

SingaporeNow the BAD, unacceptable & very terrible… 1) Food - When you pay 5* hotel prices to stay in a beautiful cabin all meals included package in paradise, naturally you’d expect to eat well, too. Buffett breakfast, lunch & dinner were included - But they don’t provide water at the restaurant. Extremely basic, mostly local dishes swimming in gooey sauces like eating in a workers cafeteria or Boy Scout camp. Here comes the unacceptable - First they ran out of bread at breakfast, then they ran out of jam, then they ran out of fruits at all meals. (Well there are plenty of coconut & papayas growing on the island, why don’t someone just buy some from the locals & serve it?) Secondly, they can’t serve decent food in the package yet they try to sell you RM30 satay for 10 sticks which were just as horrible. 2) Construction - >12hours of on-going construction everyday behind & next to the resort. Drilling, hammering & digging starts around 9am everyday. And even at almost 10pm on 1 evening we could hear drilling & digging from our bed. 3) Management - Overall, our stay here was an eye-opener to what poor management looks & feels like! It feels to me like no one cares about this resort or perhaps the team has ZERO hospitality training & experience. For instance, some staff were singing karaoke & partying loudly one evening with speakers blaring from the bar to the beach like they’re having their own private beach party until customers complained to turn down the volume. No customers participated in their party as I was there to order drinks for dinner. Where’s the manager? How is this even allowed? After 3 nights & 4 days, we were extremely happy to get off the island, eat some proper food & get some good sleep! 🙏🙏🙏
Let’s start with the GOOD… 1) All the staff were friendly & helpful 2) The place is paradise - On our side of the island, it’s a big white sandy beach with calm seas & crystal clear waters! Unlike the other side of the island where the sea is very exposed with rough seas & full of trash from the tide. 3) The cabin - very nice size, amazing view, clean bedding & comfortable. It’s so brand new that someone forgot clean the windows & dust the floor before checking in customers!

SingaporeWe would have liked to see more colourful corals and fishes in the waters around the island. I guess global warming could be playing a part. Honestly, snorkelling was not very satisfying as such.
Our room was new, big, beautiful and cosy (pine wood feel). There's partial sea view. Water pressure was very good with water heater that's easy to use. There was a lot of space to put our luggage, clothes etc at the adjoining room and to dry our swimming stuff etc at the balcony. There's only one snorkelling session in the late morning till lunch with 2 spots. One can cycle, play ball games on the floating platforms, volleyball on the beach or kayak (but within a very limited area). We chose to spend a lot of time exploring the island from both directions over the 2 days (we even walked to the village on the other side of the island). We saw cows on the beach, sea cucumbers at low tide, super huge shells, big beautiful washed-up drift wood, many species of plants, birds etc. Of course, there are rubbish too being washed up - which only serves as a reminder to all of us not to litter mindlessly. Food at mealtimes is delicious, sufficient with good variety. Not a big spread of food but I think it's good enough as there were not many people on the days we were there, and too much food will probably result in lots of wastage. There's still a large area under construction and I can imagine it'll be a grand and lively place to be in time to come.

MalaysiaThere is a lot of things to improve. Let me start with the snorkeling. The snorkeling tour is bad organized. Overcrowded. The boat that they use is not suitable for snorkeling tours. You sit in closed hot environment and need to wait long time until you can jump into the water. The snorkeling place is nothing special. You see some fishes that’s all. Unfortunately I can say that the riff is already died there. So you see grey corals with some small fishes. You are going only for one spot. That’s all. I was quite a lot at snorkeling tours. I can say that was the worst one. The food tastes good but the variety is less. It is quite boring. Always the same style. It is more a canteen style than having lunch/dinner at hotel. You have to wait in a que. There is no fruits available. And the drinks are very bad. There is only syrup, tea and bad coffee available. The breakfast is very boring…Again rice and noodles and old toast bread. We was not happy about the food. There are lot of organizational lacks. For example at the terrace of the cottages there is no desks with chairs available. So you can not sit there. There are beach loungers without any mattress. You just lay on a hard wooden loungers which is not relaxing. Furthermore the beach umbrellas are very small. You you dont have enough shadow. Really hard to stay outside. You are not able to enjoy. If you want to have drinks you have to walk to the bar. Nobody cares about the remove the dishes at beach side. For room cleaning you have to request otherwise nobody comes to clean the cottage. Overall one you check in after then nobody from the staff cares about you. The staff is not proactively you have to always ask if you need something. Overall they are polite and friendly. I can say considering the price performance it is not worst for paying that money for this resort. We expected to relay and enjoy. But this hotel is not suitable for that.
We stay for 4 days at this resort. I can share following experience. We have been as family with 2 kids. To get to the island needs some time. The boat trip can be very harsh depending on the sea condition. Arrived at Hotel you get a standard welcome drink. Nothing spectacular. A lot of day tourist coming together with hotel guest. Therefore quite overcrowding at arrival. You have to wait for the preparation of room or you can go directly to snorkeling what we did not prefer as we was been tired at arrival. The beach is overall good. Depending on weather you can have crystal clear water as showed in the picture or grey water. But the beach is clean. The cottages are very nice to stay. You smell the pine wood inside and the size is big. Nice bed and bathroom. We liked the cottages very much especially the close view to the sea is very nice. But that was the only thing which is good at this resort.

Hong Kongwhen I asked the room type with resort staff Bryan via email, he confirmed what I booked is the Beach Front Villa, but when checked in, I was told that the room is not Beach Front Villa, it is the one behind that, so the beach view is blocked, and I need to pay the extra for the Beach Font Villa. The manager claimed that Bryan is not familiar with he room types, so there is a mistake. Very unprofessional for the staff arrange me like that, it bother me a lot of time, and when I pay the extra for the Beach Front Villa, the room is not ready, especially the toilet haven't cleaned, I need to wait for half and hour before I can check in. For the activities, all the beach facilities are not open, and the bicycle event is cancelled due to raining, but no any substitution, we can just hanging around.
