Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Saudi ArabiaSteps from ground to house is a bit steep and huge step not suitable for people having knee pain and not wheel chair friendly property. Whole house floor are wood and is very slippery ( but hotel provide in house slipper) which still need to be careful about when you walk a bit fast inside the house. There is fire stove but not able to cook as it is cater for VIP guest private chef to cook inside the property, so we just have to find alternative to have our dinner that night. This property are good for 10 people as the space are so spacious although room with bed only can cater for 6 people but if management can allow 10 people and we still have space to sleep even with no bed and I bet many people are willing to stay there with those price range. Although, i paid for the extra person and yet it didnt comes with extra bed, the price comes with buffet breakfast only. Utensils like spoon, fork, cutter also only good for 6 people. This property are located inside Sabah Park, any guest go inside Sabah Park have to pay RM10 for each adult irregardless if you are sutera Sanctuary Guest or not. But the fee according to Sutera sanctuary front office are good for 3 days in and out Sabah Park. Which I think Sutera Sanctuary should have some collaboration with Sabah Park to waive fee for their guest in future. About the BBQ, even just in front of the Kinabalu Lodge there is a small hut with a small BBQ pit provided, I was inform by the front office staff that we cannot have BBQ there and we have to go further from our lodge which is beside the roadside to do our BBQ, this one also Im abit dissapointed, I think Sabah Park and Sutera Sanctuary need to have a thorough discussion or maybe sutera Sanctuary staff need to be very familiar with this(front office staff said cannot BBQ in front of Kinabalu Lodge but another staff who pass there when we ask he said can have BBQ there!?
Is a whole house lodge, kinda old wooden floor( very slippery floor somehow inhouse slipper provided) , 3 rooms come with their own bathroom, master room have spacious bathtub, super king size bed, tv and lounge space for relaxing with forest view, design are clean and simple with many small and big comfy pillow, fire place are great hotel staff will assist with starting the firewoods with a small chargeable fee. In front of the hkuse have a small hut and small bbq place for BBQ, each room have a portable heater device. The view of Akinabalu is stunning. Love it, parking space just enough for 3 to 4 cars. There is a sliding door near to kitchen dining area and have straight view of akinabalu and the balcony outside have table and chair where we can sit and enjoy a cuppa of coffee and watch mother nature and the breeze of cold wind. The Nature inside sabah park never stop to mesmerize me since i was childhood wayyyyyy before sutera sanctuary take over the place. Kudos to Sabah Park you guys did great work to preserve our mother nature. I love the cold temperature everytime I visit sabah park. Liwagu restaurant offer some variety of menu, bread with pastry, egg and laksa station cook by chef, buffet style breakfast not too bad, we have nasi lemak, fried noodles, sausage, hash brown, chicken. Chicken curry, potato curry puff, prata, turkey ham, fruit and juices, yogurt only one flavor, pastry, dimsum and mini pao, congee porridge with variety of topping,

United StatesLabels, and room/park info needed. Staff were all kind and pleasant but overall, everything was disorganized from check in to transport, and maintenance. Feels like their was no overall manger. There are outside spot lights that get turned on (and light room through top windows) but we were not sure how to turn off. They responded first night but not second until we actually found slightly hidden switch outside on our approach deck. Very frustrating that they didn’t just tell us about switch!!! Overall, park seems to only focus on climbers and is missing big opportunity for other non climber visitors. Printed materials of walk times and trails out of date.
The area is very unique and mountain (when you can see it) is beautiful. We stayed in Nepenthes King room as booking covers many different property types here. Room was in good location (Unit 12 at end), fairly private with deck next to the trees. Bed and room was comfortable and spacious. Could be a dream with better service and info.

SingaporeEntrance to Kinabalu part for tourists is expensive! Although there’s a 3 days access, it’s useless for those staying for a day! Room had no heater so it’s too cold. Window above the door shows bright light through the night, hard to sleep!

Hong KongSome of the woodwork on bathroom doors for example,e could do with a lick of paint. It’s possibly quite overly expensive for what it is- BUT it’s in a truly unique place- so I guess worth it really.
We had the king rooms with a fireplace 9- rooms smelt a bit smoky- very nice decor - lovely terrace to sit and read a book. We were in the Nepthenes suite- The nearby restaurant was excellent - food quite good- the Asian food good- very spicy. Breakfast good- nice Asian selection and pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurt fruit juice and tea and coffee available. We were not there to climb the mountain but we did spend a few hours hiking some of the trails in the park.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The lodges are situated within the Kinabalu park so you wake up to a breathtaking scenery of the mountain. It gets chilly in the evening and early morning. Our large king bed was super comfy. Breakfast was decent.

CanadaThe Liwagu suite was somewhat outdated in comparison to the photos of the other lodgings. The power goes out frequently (thankfully they have emergency lights), and it's a bit annoying to wait half an hour for the water heater to kick on. The view from the patio partially looks onto the restaurant balcony, which means if people are drinking late you hear everything. Unfortunately during our stay someone decided to start using power tools at about 11pm, which we had received no warning about and kept us from sleep. I'd recommend spending a little more if you can to book one of the newer suites. If you can't, Liwagu is spacious, comfortable and decently outfitted.
The location can't be beat, the Silau Silau trailhead is basically right there. We stayed in the Liwagu suite which was much bigger than we expected and a good home base for our day hikes. The beds are massive and quite comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were also very pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the buffet breakfast!! Lots of both western and Malaysian options to choose from, and frequently refreshed.

SingaporePoor ventilation and the sewage smell was too strong.
It is a nice place to chill and relax. The room is clean and comfortable but given both my friend and myself are sensitive to our surrounding, we were not able to sleep well during our stays. The staffs are friendly and helpful but most of all, love the dogs there who kept us accompany when we walk to and fro from our room to the restaurant. Felt very protective😁 Point to note: there are no fan nor air con. But the weather is cold enough to keep you cool.
