How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Its right downtown so if youre sensitive to outside noises it can be a little noisy due to motorbikes. No international TV channels.

Very noisy bar across the street that keeps going until 2 in the morning. Ants in the room.

We saw a small cockcroach near coffee machine, The breakfast display area requires occasional follow up by staff to keep area and serving spoon clean and neat. Breakfast staff was very hardworking and busy but could be friendlier and cheerful when seeing customers. Front desk staff friendlier.

All is ok. Nothing not to like 😊
The hotel is very strategically located. Very clean and cosy. The room is quite small but comfy and pleasant. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The hotel served packed food for sahur during Ramadhan. Love it! Will definitely come back!

Bed was extremely uncomfortable (too hard).
Helpful staff. Good location. Big quiet room, bathroom big and clean. Wide bed. Good room layout and facilities. Well furnished. Nice floor. Nice reception area.

Not sure if I missed it in the details but my room had no windows. Some days the fresh sheets had stains. There were ants in the in room cups and I'm not sure if it's me again, but in certain points of day, the water feels much hotter (prior to adjusting the temperature in response)
I like the ease of access to food and all around me

The large double bed was only Queen size, single bed was a super single. Perhaps they could be more specific in the bed details in the room listing. We were staying in the triple room, usually we would have just moved the bed and combined them but due to the bedside table placement and power sockets we were unbale to do so this time, which meant a rather tight squeeze with my wife and our 2 year old toddler as the usual sleeping arrangement was to sandwich the toddler in between my spouse and I to prevent him from accidentally rolling to the edge of the bed. Another complaint, although understandable would be the elevator, or lack thereof. There was only one elevator to access the rooms therefore when there's more guests moving about we had to wait quite a bit as the elevator itself was rather small. Again a small complaint, and completely understandable as the Hotel itself is situated in a shoplot type setting so space is a premium and fitting in two elevators might be a stretch.
Rooms were as advertised, place was clean and comfortable. Location was superb with a Supermarket right across the road abd various eateries within short walking distance. Walking distance to Waterfront was about 15-20 minutes so great in that aspect as well.

1. May have to park a bit far from hotel during peak hours.
1. Location right smack in the middle of Kuching town (old town). 2. Many-many eateries nearby. 3. Paid public parking available; can pay by app. 4. Fast checkin. 5. Large clean room. 6. Comfortable firm beds, eapecially for heavy-weights. 7. Room sound proofing is good. 8. Breakfast is good. 9. Hotel has elevator.

ReceptIon staff were very helpful generally but some of the more junior staff could do with a little more training on information for international visitors.
